Description

The present invention is that of a seesaw/table for children's games.
More specifically, this invention has been designed to serve a dual purpose, as a table for children's games and, on being turned upside down, as a seesaw.
This invention is comprised of a number of parts in molded material, preferably hard plastic and flat to a great degree, two of which comprise the sides, between which the modules comprising the playing surface of the table and seats are mounted, all comprising a complete piece of furniture.
The modules include means combined for the purpose of configuring the structure of this piece of furniture which can be used in two functional positions, as has previously been mentioned, that is, as a table or as a seesaw.
The different modules are fitted together using the means provided on both, for which provision is made in the molding stage proper, thus not requiring any other tools or auxiliary means for this purpose.
The assembly process is simple and can easily be performed by an adult. Despite its simplicity, the modules are joined together sturdily, ensuring that this piece of furniture can be used in both of its versions without any risk of any of its parts loosening.
This piece of furniture is designed for use for children's games and is apt for both indoor and outdoor use. Likewise, the ease with which its parts can be assembled and disassembled in addition to their flat shape afford the possibility of its being conveniently stored in a small space without getting in anyone's way once disassembled.
Figs. 1-4 all provide views of the table-seesaw assembly process.
Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 respectively show this piece of furniture assembled in the position for use as a table and in the upside-down position for use as a seesaw.
Fig. 7 provides an elevation view of a side module.
Referring to the figures, one can see the building of a table-seesaw comprised of different parts made from a molded material and quite flat, six of which, designed as per -1-2- and -3-, are duplicated, comprising paired modules, such that a seventh part, designed by -4-, is an odd part having no pair.
Parts -1- comprise the sides of this piece of furniture, between which the odd part -4- with no pair is set. And parts -2- and -3-, which are secured at their ends to the previously-mentioned sides -1-.
Parts -2-, -3- and -4- are rectangular in shape, part -4- being wider than parts-2- and -3-, which are all of the same width.
Said parts -2-. -3- and -4- each have two round-headed pegs -5- on their ends. Side parts -1- have oblong slots -6- which are smaller in cross-section at the middle for holding the previously-mentioned peg -5- after placing the round head through the largest part of the slot. To do so, the parts are fitted together in direction "F" and are then slid sideways in direction "F'". In this way, an integral or temporary joining of the component parts of the structure of this piece of furniture is achieved without any auxiliary parts, it additionally being easy to disassemble by reversing the movements marked "F'" and "F".
Part -4- has a smooth side -4a-, while the opposite side has a ribbed surface -4b- for its respective use as a table surface or as a floor used as a footrest for the seesaw.
The modular side parts -1- are oblong in shape and represent the shape of a fanciful character. One lengthwise side of said part -1- configures some supports -7- which comprise the legs of the table. The opposite lengthwise said comprises a central convex arch -8-, which comprises the supports for the seesaw.
According to the above, turning the table upside down provides a seesaw, on which surface -4a- of the table surface -4- and backless seats -2- then respectively become the footrest -4b- and the seats -2- with backrests -3-.
