Außerdem ist durch das andere geschlossene Wandteil einerseits ein besserer Wärmefluß vom Kolbenboden zum Kolbenschaft erreicht und andererseits durch die unterschiedliche Masse der beiden Wandteile an einer Kolbenbolzennabe eine Desachsierung des Kolbenbolzens nicht notwendig, wodurch der Herstellungsaufwand wiederum verringert wird.
