Abstract

The accumulator has two isolator pistons (12,18) which separate a fluid side (14) from a gas side (16), and an intermediate chamber (20) with sealing medium. The pistons are moved towards each by the force of a pretension unit, so that the sealing medium is compressed. The unit has a power accumulator (26) and a connection rod (28), which passes through both pistons. The accumulator is a compression spring, supported with its ends on the first piston and on the connecting rod. At least one of the pistons (12) has a closeable feed line (36) for the sealing medium, which opens into the intermediate chamber. The medium is a highly viscous oil.
