Definitions
- the invention relates to a control disc for a belt retractor, which has an inertia disc and an actuation extension.
- Such a control disk is part of a locking mechanism with which the belt reel of the belt retractor, on which the belt webbing is wound, can be blocked against rotation in the unwinding direction in a vehicle or webbing-sensitive manner.
- the locking mechanism of such a belt retractor is known, which is why it is only discussed briefly here.
- the control disk of the locking mechanism can be rotated to a limited extent relative to the belt reel. If the locking mechanism is triggered in a vehicle-sensitive manner, that is to say by exceeding a predetermined acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle, or in a belt-strap-sensitive manner, that is to say by exceeding a predetermined rotational acceleration of the belt reel due to tensile forces acting in the belt strap, the control disk is twisted relative to the belt reel. whereby the actuating extension is pivoted into an activation position, so that the belt spool is rotatably coupled to a control lever or similar functional part, which activates a load-bearing pawl when the belt spool rotates in the unwinding direction and thus causes the belt spool to be locked. The belt spool is then blocked in the unwinding direction.
- Belt tightening devices have been used more and more recently, which after actuation eliminate the so-called belt looseness of the seat belt system, so that the vehicle occupant takes part in decelerating the vehicle as early as possible.
- buckle tensioners are known in which the belt buckle is moved such that the seat belt is pulled tight, and retractor tensioners in which the belt reel is rotated in the winding direction, so that excess webbing is wound up.
- retractor tensioners in which the belt reel is rotated in the winding direction, so that excess webbing is wound up.
- the invention creates a control disk, in which only the inertial disk can be uncoupled from the control disk when a predetermined rotational acceleration is exceeded.
- the invention is based on the knowledge that it is sufficient to protect the locking mechanism of a belt retractor against damage at high rotational accelerations, only to decouple the inertial disc, which represents the majority of the inertia of the locking mechanism during rotational accelerations, from the control disc.
- the inertia disc is rotatable relative to the control disc and is connected to it by a slip clutch. Since the slip clutch only transfers the forces in normal operation necessary to take the inertia disk with you, the slip clutch can be dimensioned smaller. This results in weight and cost advantages in manufacturing.
- the slip clutch is effective in both directions, thus allowing a relative rotation between the inertia disc and the control disc in both directions.
- the slip clutch engages in the radial direction on the inertia disc. This design results in a particularly compact locking mechanism of the belt retractor in the axial direction.
- the inertia disc is provided with a central opening, the edge of which has a plurality of radial recesses, and that the control disc is provided with a plurality of resilient latching lugs which pass through the central opening and act on the edge thereof.
- FIG. 1 shows a control disk 10 according to the invention for a belt retractor, which is provided with an inertia disk 12, in a perspective, partially sectioned view.
- This inertial disc 12 is made of metal and is provided with a central opening 14, at the edge of which a plurality of recesses 16 are provided which have a V-shaped shape.
- the control disk 10 (see also FIG. 3) is provided with a bearing sleeve 20 for its attachment.
- This bearing sleeve 20 three locking lugs 22 (see also Figure 4) are evenly spaced apart.
- Each locking lug 22 protrudes from the control disk 10 in the axial direction.
- a locking tab 24 is provided, which also extends in the axial direction towards the control disk 10. This latching tab 24 extends into an opening 26 which is formed in the control disk on the same radius as the corresponding latching lug 22.
- this opening 26 is wider than the corresponding latching tab 24, the mutual dimensions being selected such that when the latching tab 24 is deformed in the circumferential direction of the disk 10, this latching tab comes to bear on the wall of the opening, before the latching tab 24 or the latch 22 are plastically deformed; so there is only elastic deformation.
- the control disc 10 is also provided with an actuation extension 28 and with three retaining tabs 30.
- the retaining tabs also extend in the axial direction and are arranged at a uniform distance from one another between the locking lugs 22.
- the inertia disk 12 is arranged on the control disk 10 such that the latching lugs 22 and the retaining tabs 30 pass through the central opening 14 of the inertia disk 12 in the axial direction, the retaining tabs 30 contacting the inertia disk 12 in the axial direction set the control disc 10.
- the locking lugs 22 and in particular the locking tabs 24 each engage in one of the V-shaped recesses 16.
- the dimensions of the central opening 14, the recesses 16 and the locking lugs 22 and the locking tabs 24 are selected so that the locking tabs 24 cooperate with the recesses 16 in the manner of a slip clutch, which after exceeding a predetermined torque, between the control disc 10 and the inertia disc 12 acts, a relative rotation between these enables.
- the locking lugs 22 are deformed together with the locking tabs 24 in the radial direction, it being possible for the locking tabs 24 to rest against the wall of the corresponding opening 26.
- the inertia disk is decoupled from the control disk when high rotational accelerations act on the control disk 10.
- the slip clutch used for the decoupling is particularly compact, while at the same time a very reproducible nominal torque is achieved, from which there is a relative rotation between the control disc and the inertia disc.

Description
The invention relates to a control disc for a belt retractor, which has an inertia disc and an actuation extension.
Such a control disk is part of a locking mechanism with which the belt reel of the belt retractor, on which the belt webbing is wound, can be blocked against rotation in the unwinding direction in a vehicle or webbing-sensitive manner. The locking mechanism of such a belt retractor is known, which is why it is only discussed briefly here.
The control disk of the locking mechanism can be rotated to a limited extent relative to the belt reel.
Belt tightening devices have been used more and more recently, which after actuation eliminate the so-called belt looseness of the seat belt system, so that the vehicle occupant takes part in decelerating the vehicle as early as possible. In particular, buckle tensioners are known in which the belt buckle is moved such that the seat belt is pulled tight, and retractor tensioners in which the belt reel is rotated in the winding direction, so that excess webbing is wound up. In both systems there is a high acceleration of the belt reel and the functional parts connected to it, namely with a buckle pretensioner in the webbing unwinding direction and with a retractor tensioner in the webbing unwinding direction. The high accelerations could damage the functional parts of the locking mechanism, so that proper functioning of the belt retractor would not be guaranteed after a tensioning process. It can therefore be provided that certain parts of the belt retractor are decoupled from the belt reel when there is a high rotational acceleration of the belt reel. For example, it is known to provide the control disk with end teeth, which cooperate with an associated toothing on the belt spool, the control disk being acted upon elastically in the direction of the belt spool. In this way, a slip clutch can be obtained, by means of which the control disk can be uncoupled from the belt reel when a predetermined rotational acceleration is exceeded.
In contrast to this design, the invention creates a control disk, in which only the inertial disk can be uncoupled from the control disk when a predetermined rotational acceleration is exceeded. The invention is based on the knowledge that it is sufficient to protect the locking mechanism of a belt retractor against damage at high rotational accelerations, only to decouple the inertial disc, which represents the majority of the inertia of the locking mechanism during rotational accelerations, from the control disc. According to the invention it is therefore provided that the inertia disc is rotatable relative to the control disc and is connected to it by a slip clutch. Since the slip clutch only transfers the forces in normal operation necessary to take the inertia disk with you, the slip clutch can be dimensioned smaller. This results in weight and cost advantages in manufacturing. The slip clutch is effective in both directions, thus allowing a relative rotation between the inertia disc and the control disc in both directions.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention it is provided that the slip clutch engages in the radial direction on the inertia disc. This design results in a particularly compact locking mechanism of the belt retractor in the axial direction.
According to the preferred embodiment, it is further provided that the inertia disc is provided with a central opening, the edge of which has a plurality of radial recesses, and that the control disc is provided with a plurality of resilient latching lugs which pass through the central opening and act on the edge thereof. With this design, the torque at which the slip clutch permits a relative rotation between the control disk and the inertia disk can be determined in a particularly simple manner by the choice of the effective radius of the slip clutch, that is to say by the choice of the radius of the central opening of the inertia disk.
Further features of the invention emerge from the subclaims.
