Abstract
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Ultraschallwandler mit einem in einer Längsrichtung (1) ausgedehnten piezoelektrischen Körper (2). Gemäß der Erfindung ist die Querschnittsfläche (AR,AM) des piezoelektrischen Körpers (2) senkrecht zu dieser Längsrichtung (1) in einem Randbereich kleiner als in einem Mittelbereich. Durch diese Maßnahme wird die bei einem langen, schmalen Ultraschallwandler auftretende Amplitudenüberhöhung an den Schwingerenden weitgehend unterdrückt.
