Abstract

The invention relates to a method for forming walls and the like, by connecting stiles (1) with panels (2), characterised in that use is made of a stile (1) with at least one local recess (3) for receiving a magnet (4), and of panels (2) which are locally provided with metal strips (5), in such a way that in the mounted position these metal strips (5) are located at the level of the above-mentioned magnets (4).

Description

Method for forming walls and the like and stiles and panels for use therein.
The present invention relates to a method for forming walls and the like, by connecting stiles with panels.
It is the aim of the present invention to provide a method with which it is possible to build walls and equally likely structures, using technically reliable means, whereby between the supporting elements, which consist mostly of stiles, and the panels, use is made of a screwless connection. It is therefore not only the aim to provide the possibility of a quick, flexible mounting and a damageless demounting, but also to provide walls which show a beautiful continuous surface.
To achieve this according to the invention, use is made of a stile with at least one local recess for receiving a magnet, and of panels which are locally provided with metal strips, in such a way that in the mounted position these metal strips are located at the level of the above mentioned magnets.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the stile for performing the method according to the invention, comprises in longitudinal direction, at least locally a recess for receiving a magnet, and is the panel which cooperates therewith, at least locally, provided with metal strips.
Other details and advantages of the invention will become apparant from the following description of a method for constructing walls and the like and stiles and panels for use therein according to the invention. This description is only given as an example and does not restrict the invention. The reference numbers relate to the attached figures.
Figure 1 shows schematically, and along a cross-sectional view, a supporting element such as a stile and its connection with two panels, each time in another embodiment.
Figure 2 is an expanded, similar view, wherein the stile however shows another structure. Figure 3 is a cross-section through a stile and corresponding panels, according to another embodiment.
In the figures, stile 1, respectively la, lb, are represented with a recess 3 which is provided sideways, i.e. at the side which has to be contacted with the panels 2.
Magnets 4 fit into said recess 3, which magnets have a thickness that corresponds with the deep of the recess 3. To the panelε 2, metal strips 5 are locally attached. These can also have a continuous character, and have a length which is substantially the same ast the height of panel 2.
In the different figures, one can see at the left side of the drawing, the way in which two panels 2 closely fit to one another, i.e. jointless.
The stile la according to figure 2 comprises two parts lb with a connecting part lc. It is also possible that two panels 2 do not fit, as is shown on the right side of the figureε. Herein, a metal finishing profile 6 is provided between two panels 2. Such a metal profile 6 is in direct contact with the magnets 4. This metal profile can therefore also be mounted in the wall structure, in a screwless way. By varying the dimensions of this profile, the visual aspect of the joint of the wall can be varied. This profile can be flush-mounted between two panels 2 or can extend outwardly from the panels. Clearly, this metal profile can have the thickness of the panels and thus assure a continuous appearance of the panel.
In the embodiment of figure 3, a stile lb, which stile is composed of a folded sheet of sheet metal is taken as a starting point. The sheet of sheet metal is double folded at two positions, at both sides. The recess 3 for receiving the magnets 4 is here formed by means of a gutter-shaped profile 7, which shows lips 8 that are locally outwardly bent. These lips slide into grooves which appear at the same regular distances. Gutter-shaped profile 7 can consequently be held at its right position.
The stiles according to the different embodiments therefore fulfill the same function.
The adherence force of the whole can be varied by varying the number, length and the force of the magnets.
It should be clear that the invention is not restricted to the embodiment described above, and that variations are possible, as far as they are comprised within the scope of the attached claims.

Claims

CLAIMS .
1. Method for forming walls and the like, by connecting stiles with panels, characterised in that use is made of a stile la, lb, lc with at least one local recess (3, 3') for receiving a magnet (4), and of panels (2) which are locally provided with metal strips (5) , in such a way, that in the mounted position these metal strips (5) are located at the level of the above mentioned magnets (4) .
