L'invention porte sur un procédé d'identification d'une position et de présentation d'informations relatives à cette position comportant les étapes suivantes: numériser des images visuelles et enregistrer électroniquement des informations concernant les positions présentées dans les images visuelles; présenter électroniquement les images visuelles; présenter électroniquement les informations concernant les positions sélectionnées par l'usager présentées dans les images visuelles. L'invention porte également sur un dispositif (28) comportant un écran de présentation électronique (32) pour la présentation des images visuelles et des informations figurant sur un module de mémoire détachable (50). Elle porte en outre sur un panneau de commande (30) comportant un clavier de commande (34) et des touches (36, 38, 40, 42) permettant à un usager d'afficher sélectivement les photographies numérisées et de sélectionner les informations relatives aux positions et objets présentées sur le dispositif d'affichage (28).
