Abstract

The exhaust consists of a manifold (301) connected to the engine cylinder head (304), and an exhaust pipe (303) with a catalytic chamber (302) having an intake and an outlet and containing a block (305) with multiple lengthwise channels coated with catalytic substances. The gases have to pass round a bend (307) before entering the converter. The system has an exhaust gas flow rectifier (306) situated at the level of the bend between the manifold and converter and made in the form of a second multi-channel block with its channels lying coaxially with those of the first block. The intake end (308) of the second block is truncated, and its channels are coated with an active catalytic product. The angle of the bend is close to 90 degrees, with the intake of the rectifier forming an angle of 15 - 30 degrees with a plane normal to its axis.
