Abstract

Procedure to take off the wrapping material covering multistacked palletized loads characterized by the fact that it presents the combination of horizontal cuts (3), made on the top of two opposite sides, with vertical cuts (4) made on the same opposite sides. This procedure can be used to operate both with thermo-shrunk film and stretchable film.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to packaging plants technology and is therefore included in the international classification B65b.
STATE OF THE ART
Modern packaging plants are fed with glass bottles packed in multistacked pallets wrapped in thermo-shrunk film or with plastic bottles wrapped in stretchable film.
In order to release the glass bottles from the wrapping of thermo-shrunk film is known the procedure as described in Japanese patent JP 51115190; in order to release the plastic bottles from the wrapping of stretchable film is known the procedure as described US 5.148.651.
These procedures appear to be very complex and to have a very slow functioning. Furthermore a single procedure can not be used to operate both with thermo-shrunk and stretchable film. Also known are the documents SE - B-360 617 and the US -A-3263-843 which refer to devices to open the top of small parcels for lifting the bottles and extracting them from the parcel. The problem to be solved is to realize a simple, quick and safe procedure that could be used both with thermo-shrunk and stretchable film.
The invention, as claimed in claim 1, concerns a procedure to take off the wrapping material covering multistacked palletized load, whereby cuts are made in the wrapping of the palletized load. Horizontal cuts are made on the top of two opposite sides, and vertical cuts are made in the same opposite sides and the wrapping is released from the palletized load as an integral unit.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of a multistacked covered load.
  • Figure 2 is a plan view of the pallet bottom.
  • Figure 3 is a perspective view of the load with the cover no longer undershrunk.
  • Figure 4 is a perspective view of the load free of the cover.
  • Figure 5 is a perspective view of a load covered by a stretching film.
  • Figure 6 is a perspective view of the load free of the stretched cover.
  • Figure 7 is a perspective view of a load having an interposed sheet 11.
  • Figure 8, similar to figure 3, is a perspective view of a cover no longer undershrunk.
  • Figure 9 is a perspective view of a load completely free of the shrunk film.
  • DESCRIPTION
The straightforwardness of this procedure is made clear by the figures of the enclosed drawings as a not limitative example.
Figure 1 shows, in perspective view from below, a multistacked load covered by a wrapping of thermo-shrunk material having the inferior edge perimetrally folded under the pallet's bottom.
Figure 1 discloses the combination of horizontals cuts, made on the top of two opposite sides, with vertical cuts made on the same opposite sides. In figure 1 appears also the combination of longitudinal cuts and crosscuts made underneath on the undershrunk wrapping's edge under the pallet's bottom.
Figure 2 shows, in plan view from below, the packed load having the perimetric edge of the thermo-shrunk wrapping folded and undershrunk.
In this figure 2 can be noticed the presence of two orders of cuts, crossed longitudinally and transversally, made underneath on the perimetric edge of the undershrunk film.
Figure 3 shows, in perspective view from below, the inferior crossed cuts and the packed load the with the perimetric edge of the undershrunk film now flapping free so as to release the pallet base. In figure 3 is also evident the combination of top horizontal cuts with cuts made vertically on two opposite sides.
Figure 4 shows perspectively a multistacked load free of the thermo-shrunk wrapping and highlights the fact that the combination between the inferior cuts, the horizontal top cuts and the vertical cuts allow the full spread out of the open thermo-shrunk wrapping.
In figure 4 is indeed evident that the opposite sides, on which were made horizontal top cuts and vertical cuts, result in a full spread out as completely openable in order to release the pallet from the thermo-shrunk wrapping and from the perimetric inferior undershrunk edge.
Figure 5 shows a multistacked load wrapped by a stretching film. In this figure is evident the absence of the inferior edge folded under the pallet base.
In figure 5 is also evident that, with the same procedure, can be performed the same combination of horizontal top cuts and vertical cuts made on two opposite sides in order to release completely the pallet from the stretchable wrapping.
Figure 6 shows perspectively a multistacked load (e.g. plastic bottles) let loose from the wrapping of stretchable material and highlights the fact that the same procedure, consisting of the combination of horizontal top cuts with vertical cuts made on the same sides, makes these sides completely openable in order to release the load from the stretchable wrapping.
Figure 7 is a perspective view from below of a multistacked load covered by a thermo-shrunk film having a sheet interposed between the load and the base of the pallet.
In this figure is clear the presence of a couple of perimetric parallel cuts horizontally made, one over and the other under the zone in which the interposed sheet is thermosealed within the sides of the thermo-shrunk wrapping.
Figure 8, similarly to the picture 3, shows in perspective view from below, a packed load with the peripheral edge no longer undershrunk but loose and flapping free because of the inferior crossed cuts. In figure 8 is also evident the presence of couples of horizontal parallel cuts, one over and the other under the sheet interposed between the first layer of the load and the pallets base.
Figure 9 shows perspectively a multistacked load free of the thermo-shrunk wrapping. It is also evident that, because of the couple of cuts made over and under the zone in which the sheet is thermosealed within the sides of the thermo-shrunk wrapping, even the pallet's base can be set free from the inferior wrapping 's end.
Every single detail of the attached drawing is indicated as follows:
  • (1) indicates the longitudinal cuts on the bottom of the perimetric thermoshrunk folded bottom edge of the protective wrapping.
  • (2) indicates the transversal cuts on the same folded bottom edge.
  • (3) indicates the horizontal top cuts on two opposite sides of the protective wrapping.
  • (4) indicates the vertical cuts on the same opposite sides.
  • (5) indicates the peripheral thermo-shrunk folded bottom edge.
  • (6) are the two opposite sides.
  • (7) is a multistacked load of bottles.
  • (8) shows interlayers between each stack.
  • (9) indicates the bottom base of the pallet.
  • (10) is the stretchable wrapping.
  • (11) is the sheet interposed between the first layer of the load and the pallet's base.
  • (12) and (13) are the couple of perimetric horizontal cuts around the pallet.
  • The evidence of the figures highlights the versatility of the subject procedure, the specific characteristics of which are hereinafter claimed.
