It is also possible for the insulator element 34 to have a bore sized to receive the central conductor 32 together with the inner sheath without that sheath having been cut back. In such circumstances the contact end must be designed as an insulation displacement contact such as for example the fork end illustrated having opposing edges of knife shaped to penetrate the sheath and make electrical contact with the central conductor.
- the screen 28 is shown to be secured by crimping any other suitable means of connection can be employed for example a clamping collar or securing screw. In the case of a housing formed from an insulating material, the insulator element 34 could be dispensed with and the features thereof could be integrated in the housing construction.

Claims (13)
- Koaxialkabelstecker, der ein Gehäuse (10), das zur Aufnahme eines zentralen Leiters (32) eines zum Anschluß vorbereiteten, in einer Richtung eingeführten Kabelendes (30) ausgelegt ist, ein in dem Gehäuse aufgenommenes Isolierelement (34) mit einem Bohrloch (36) zur Aufnahme des zentralen Leiters (32) aufweist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
der Stecker außerdem einen Isolator (18) aufweist, der mit einem Anschluß (20) mit einem Kontaktende (22) ausgestattet ist, wobei der Isolator in einer Richtung quer zu der einen Richtung in das Gehäuse einführbar ist, so daß das Kontaktende mit dem zentralen, in dem Bohrloch (36) des Isolierelements (34) angeordneten Leiter in einen sicheren elektrischen Kontakt gebracht wird. - Stecker nach Anspruch 1, der Retentionsmittel (42, 48) aufweist, die zur gegenseitigen Befestigung von Gehäuse (10) und Isolator (18) mit dem elektrischen Kontaktende (22), das mit dem zentralen Leiter (32) in Kontakt ist, wirksam sind.
- Stecker nach Anspruch 2, wobei das Retentionsmittel an Gehäuse (10) und Isolator (18) zusammenwirkende Einrastmittel (46, 48) aufweist.
- Stecker nach Anspruch 3, wobei die Einrastmittel Vorrichtungen (46, 48) zum Einrasten des Isolators in dem Gehäuse in zwei relativen Anordnungen aufweisen, wobei das Kontaktende (22) in einer der beiden Anordnungen von einer Stelle des zentralen Leiters beabstandet ist, so daß sich ein Kabel einschieben läßt, und das Kontaktende in der anderen der beiden Anordnungen einen zentralen, an diese Stelle eingeführten Leiter (32) greifen kann.
- Stecker nach Anspruch 3 oder 4, wobei die Einrastmittel (42, 46, 48) zusammenwirkende Projektion (42) und Nut(e) (46, 48) aufweisen, die unter Befestigung des Isolators (18) in dem Gehäuse (10) ineinander einrastbar sind.
- Stecker nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei das Kontaktende (22) eine Schneidkante aufweist, die zum Einschneiden in den zentralen Leiter (32) bei Verschiebung des Isolators (18) in dem Gehäuse (10) in die Kontaktposition angeordnet ist.
- Stecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, wobei das Kontaktende (22) gabelförmig ist, so daß es den zentralen Leiter (22) bei Verschiebung des Isolators (18) in dem Gehäuse (10) in die Kontaktposition auf zwei gegenüberliegenden Seiten greift.
- Stecker nach Anspruch 7, wobei die gegenüberliegenden Innenkanten des gabelförmigen Endes (22) so angeordnete Schneidkanten sind, daß sie bei Verschiebung des Isolators (18) in dem Gehäuse (10) in die Kontaktposition in die gegenüberliegenden Seiten des zentralen Leiters (32) einschneiden.
- Stecker nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei das Gehäuse (10) zur Platzierung des zentralen Leiters mit seiner Isolierhülle (30) ausgelegt ist und das Kontaktende (22) zum Durchdringen der Hülle unter Herstellung des elektrischen Kontakts mit dem zentralen Leiter (32) angeordnet ist.
- Stecker nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei ein separates Isolatorelement (34) vorgesehen ist, das in dem Gehäuse (10) platzierbar und zur Platzierung des zentralen Leiters (32) ausgebildet ist.
- Stecker nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei das Gehäuse (10) aus Metall geformt und mit Mitteln (16) zur elektrischen Verbindung der Abschirmung des elektrischen Kabels ausgestattet ist.
- Stecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, wobei das Gehäuse (10) aus einem Isoliermaterial mit einer metallisierten Außenschicht gebildet und mit Mitteln (16) zur elektrischen Verbindung der Abschirmung des elektrischen Kabels mit der Schicht ausgestattet ist.
- Stecker nach Anspruch 11 oder 12, wobei das Gehäuse einen Vorsprung (16) aufweist, der den Kabeleingang bildet und so geformt ist, damit sich die Abschirmung des Kabels durch Quetschen befestigen läßt.
