Definitions
- the invention relates to a stripping device for stripping flowable, in particular pasty or liquid material from a surface, with a holding device which can be moved along it at a distance from the surface to be stripped, and with a device arranged on the holding device for contacting the surface to be stripped provided scraper, which is attached to the holding device with play perpendicular to the surface to be stripped.
- Wipers are used to wipe the mixture from the walls of the container when mixing and stirring pasty material such as ointments, cream or the like in mixing containers, thereby ensuring on the one hand a uniform mixing and on the other hand to prevent the mixture from sticking to the walls as a kind of insulating layer Settles container walls and makes heating or cooling the container contents more difficult.
- stripping devices are known in which a stripping element can be pivoted through a certain angle about an agitator arm running axially in the mixing container or about axially extending bearing journals arranged thereon.
- the pivotability ensures that two scraping edges of the scraper lie against each other when the agitator is reversing.
- a compensation of thermal and manufacturing tolerances of the container and the agitator is only possible to a very small extent by pivoting, so that these wipers can only be used in conjunction with a twisted mixing container.
- a leaf spring acting on the stripper and supported on the holding device ensures contact pressure of the stripper against the wall of the mixing container.
- This known wall wiper has several disadvantages. The high contact pressure caused by the spring can lead to scoring in the container wall. A particularly serious disadvantage is the fact that if the pressure spring breaks, metal parts fall into the homogenizer arranged at the bottom of the mixing container and destroy it can.
- the invention has for its object to provide a stripping device of the type mentioned, which does not have the disadvantages mentioned or to a lesser extent.
- the invention solves this problem in that no static external force is applied to the stripper in the direction of the surface to be stripped and in that the stripper has at least one surface by means of which a force component acting on the stripper in the direction of the stripper during stripping due to the dynamic pressure of the material to be stripped surface to be stripped is generated.
- the attachment of the scraper to the holding device with play perpendicular to the surface to be stripped means that the holding device and the scraper have a freedom from sliding against each other and that this displacement has a directional component perpendicular to the surface to be stripped.
- the invention is not restricted to those embodiments in which there is only displacement perpendicular to the surface to be stripped.
- no static external force application expresses that there are no devices which exert a static external force, that is to say independent of the movement of the stripper, on the stripper in the direction of the surface to be stripped.
- the scraper is therefore not pressed against the container wall by a spring force or any other pretension.
- the wording does not rule out that, for example, in the case of a correspondingly inclined arrangement of the wiper due to its own weight, gravity exerts a force component directed in the direction of the surface to be wiped off.
- the gravity acting on the wiper itself should not be included in the wording "no static external force”.
- the invention is based on the surprising finding that the wiper acts evenly and reliably even when there is no static pressure on the surface to be wiped off. It has been shown that the dynamic pressure of the material to be stripped, which acts on corresponding inclined surfaces of the stripper, and the centrifugal force occurring in the case of agitators, is completely sufficient to press the stripper evenly and reliably onto the container wall. A static pressure is surprisingly not necessary even during the start-up phase of the wiper, that after start-up Dynamic contact forces are sufficient to ensure even stripping from the start.
- the contact pressure of the stripping device according to the invention automatically adapts to the nature of the material to be stripped and to the stripping speed.
- a highly viscous product requires a higher contact pressure to wipe it off, which is automatically created by the greater dynamic pressure of the highly viscous mass.
- This regulation of the contact pressure inherent in the stripper according to the invention unnecessary wear of the stripper and container wall is avoided.
- the play of the scraper perpendicular to the surface to be stripped automatically compensates for unevenness and manufacturing inaccuracies in the wall to be stripped.
- Another advantage of the invention is that the contact pressure always remains the same even if the scraper follows any unevenness in the wall.
- the holding devices and the stripper are expediently elongated and the stripper is fastened to the holding device at at least two fastening points arranged along its longitudinal axis.
- the scraper on its side facing the holding device has recesses into which bolts or pins arranged on the holding device engage. The interaction of these recesses and bolts or pegs is such that the scraper has freedom of movement perpendicular to the container wall.
- each recess in the scraper is formed by a bore which has a section of smaller diameter facing the holding device and a section of larger diameter concentric to the surface to be stripped off.
- the pin or bolt attached to the holding device and engaging therein is cylindrical and has a diameter which is smaller than the smaller diameter of the bore.
- the bolt has an annular groove in the area which is arranged in the assembled state of the holding device and the scraper in the larger diameter bore section (that is to say in the end region of the bolt facing away from the holding device).
- An O-ring is arranged in this ring groove. The outer diameter of the O-ring is larger than the diameter of the bore section facing the holding device.
- the scraper is pressed with the bore on the bolt provided with the O-ring during its assembly. Due to the flexibility of the O-ring, it can pass through the bore section of smaller diameter if it is pressed on with increased force. The bore section of smaller diameter then forms a safeguard against unwanted removal of the scraper from the holding device. The streak is displaceable within its larger diameter bore section on the bolt with the O-ring, this displaceability causes the desired play perpendicular to the container wall.
- This embodiment allows the scraper to be assembled and disassembled easily. Since a mixing container is provided in many places with O-rings for sealing, which are made of a material compatible with the material to be stripped, an O-ring made of a corresponding material is expediently placed on the bolt or bolts. This fastening according to the invention therefore also creates no problems with regard to compatibility with the mix.
- the stripping device according to the invention will be part of an agitator.
- the surface to be stripped off is then an essentially rotationally symmetrical surface and the holding device is designed as an agitator arm of this agitator.
- the at least one surface of the scraper for pressing the same against the surface to be stripped is formed by the back pressure of the material to be stripped in such a way that in both directions of rotation of the stirring arm by the back pressure of the material to be stripped off, a force component acting on the stripper in the direction is generated on the surface to be stripped.
- the scraper therefore has an inclined surface or inclined surfaces on which the dynamic pressure of the mixed material generates a force component in the direction of the container wall in both directions of rotation. This design enables a uniform stripping in both directions of rotation of the agitator and thus allows a change in the direction of rotation of the agitator to achieve a more uniform mixing.
- the scraper is expediently designed to be mirror-symmetrical to its radial plane, so that it achieves an identical scraper effect in both directions of rotation.
- the play between the scraper and the holding device is expediently such that pivoting of the scraper relative to the holding device is possible both about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the agitator and about an axis perpendicular to the radial plane which connects the axis of rotation of the agitator with the longitudinal axis of the scraper is.
- This pivotability allows the scraper to compensate for unevenness and inaccuracies in the angle of the container wall in any direction.
- such a game can be achieved very simply in that the outer diameter of the O-ring is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the larger diameter bore section, so that a corresponding pivoting of the wiper is possible without tilting the same.
- the axis of rotation of the agitator is essentially vertical.
- the agitator can be moved up and out of the mixing container for cleaning and maintenance purposes and, if necessary, for filling and completely emptying the container. It is then appropriate that the top of the scraper is beveled. This means that the upper side has no or at most a small horizontal area.
- the agitator is pulled out of a filled mixing container, no or only a little mix remains on the top of the scraper. Mixing material still adhering can run down along the bevelled surfaces and drip back into the mixing container.
- the present invention also relates to an agitator that has a stripping device according to the invention.
- the elements connecting the agitator arm that carries the scraper to the agitator axis run at least partially outside the radial plane spanned by the agitator axis and the longitudinal axis of the scraper. These connecting elements therefore do not only run straight in the radial plane, rather they are curved or kinked.
- This shape has the effect that, depending on the direction of rotation of the agitator, the material in the mixing container is conveyed a directional component either towards the center of the container or towards the outer wall of the container during stirring. This results in an even better mixing of the container contents.
- the invention further relates to a mixing device with an agitator according to the invention.
- the mixing device has a container in which the agitator is arranged. For example, heating, cooling, filling and emptying devices and an additional homogenizer can be present.
- An agitator is arranged in a mixing container 1.
- a drive not shown in the drawing, sets the agitator axis 3 either in rotation in either direction.
- Connecting elements 4 pointing radially outward connect the agitator axis 3 to agitator arms 5 running parallel to the agitator axis 3.
- additional agitator blades (not shown in the drawing) for mixing the container contents can be arranged on the agitator axis 3, the connecting elements 4 and / or the agitator arms .
- Fig. 2 it can be seen that the connecting elements 4 do not run in a radial plane, but are kinked in order to impart a direction of movement component either to the center of the container or to the outside, depending on the direction of rotation of the agitator.
- Wipers 6 for stripping the inner wall 7 of the mixing container 1 are arranged on the stirring arms 5.
- the wipers 6 can be made, for example, from various plastics, silicone or rubber materials, Teflon, Delrin, RCH 1000.
- the wipers 6 are preferably made of Teflon, Delrin or RCH 1000. It is also possible to manufacture the base body of the wipers 6 from metal and to apply the above-mentioned wiping materials to this base body. This is particularly preferred when rubber or silicone materials are to be used as wipers.
- Fig. 3 it can be seen that each stripper 6 is attached to the agitator arm 5 by means of two bolts 10.
- Each scraper 6 is penetrated in the radial direction by two bores, each of which has a section 8 of smaller diameter facing the holding device 5 and a section 9 of a larger diameter facing the container wall 7.
- Each bolt 10 has in its end region facing the container wall 7 an annular groove 11 in which an O-ring 12 is arranged.
- the wiper 6 is pressed onto the bolts 10 provided with O-rings 12 with increased force.
- the section 8 of smaller diameter of each bore slides over the O-ring 12 with elastic deformation of the O-ring 12 and possibly also of the wiper 6 away.
- the stripper 6 is held by the bolts 10, the O-rings 12 and the sections 8 of reduced diameter of the bore only allow the stripper 6 to be pulled off the bolts 10 with increased effort.
- the bore sections 9 of larger diameter allow the scraper 6 to be moved onto the bolt 10 in the axial direction of these bolts, so that the desired play is present perpendicular to the container wall 7 to be stripped.
- the scraper 6 has sufficient play relative to the bolts 10 and thus also the holding device 5, to move slightly both about the axis Y shown in FIG. 1 (parallel to the agitator axis 3) and about the axis X (perpendicular to the radial plane, which is the agitator axis 3 with the longitudinal axis of the wipers 6) to be pivotable. He can thus follow any unevenness and angular inaccuracies in the container wall 7.
- each scraper 6 is provided with an inclined surface 13, so that when the agitator is moved out of the filled mixing container 1, only a small amount of mix remains adhering to this top 13.
- the scraper 6 has an approximately trapezoidal cross-section.
- both the centrifugal force acting on the scraper 6 and the back pressure of the mixture acting on the inclined surfaces 14 or 15 which, depending on the direction of rotation, affect either the scraper edge 16 or the scraper edge 17 creates the inner wall of the container 7 and, in the course of the rotation of the agitator 3, strips off the mixture adhering to it.
- the scraper 6 follows any unevenness in the wall by moving it onto the bolt 10 or by slightly tilting it relative to this bolt.
- the contact pressure of the scraper edge 16 or 17 depends primarily on the dynamic pressure of the mixed material acting on the inclined surface 14 or 15 and thus on its viscosity. In the case of more viscous mix, the higher contact pressure required for stripping is automatically created. In the case of low-viscosity mix, an unnecessarily high contact pressure with corresponding wear on the scraper and container is avoided.
- the cleaning of the stripping device is usually carried out as part of a cleaning of the entire system by CIP (cleaning in place) cleaning.
- CIP cleaning in place
- the annular groove 11 has a slight undersize compared to the O-ring 12.
- the O-ring 12 is seated in the annular groove 11 under slight tension. Material to be stripped cannot therefore work into the annular groove 11.
- the movement of the scraper 6 constantly rinses its outer surfaces and all the outer surfaces of the bolt 10 and the O-ring 12 with cleaning fluid. Wipers 6, bolts 10 and O-ring 12 are thus easy and reliable to clean using the CIP method.
- the wiper 6 is removed from the bolts 10 and the O-rings 12 are removed from the grooves. Thorough cleaning is now easy.
- the material of the O-rings 12 is chosen so that it is compatible with the products to be mixed.
- Cross-sectional shapes of the stripper 6 other than that shown in FIG. 4 are of course also conceivable within the scope of the invention.
- a slight concave curvature of the surface 18 facing the container 7 is conceivable.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a stripping device for stripping flowable, in particular pasty or liquid material from a surface, with a holding device which can be moved along it at a distance from the surface to be stripped, and with a device arranged on the holding device for contacting the surface to be stripped provided scraper, which is attached to the holding device with play perpendicular to the surface to be stripped.
Wipers are used to wipe the mixture from the walls of the container when mixing and stirring pasty material such as ointments, cream or the like in mixing containers, thereby ensuring on the one hand a uniform mixing and on the other hand to prevent the mixture from sticking to the walls as a kind of insulating layer Settles container walls and makes heating or cooling the container contents more difficult.
From DE 30 30 390 C2 and DE 91 13 945 U1, stripping devices are known in which a stripping element can be pivoted through a certain angle about an agitator arm running axially in the mixing container or about axially extending bearing journals arranged thereon. The pivotability ensures that two scraping edges of the scraper lie against each other when the agitator is reversing. A compensation of thermal and manufacturing tolerances of the container and the agitator is only possible to a very small extent by pivoting, so that these wipers can only be used in conjunction with a twisted mixing container.
In a stripping device known from DE 28 15 946 C2, a leaf spring acting on the stripper and supported on the holding device ensures contact pressure of the stripper against the wall of the mixing container. This known wall wiper has several disadvantages. The high contact pressure caused by the spring can lead to scoring in the container wall. A particularly serious disadvantage is the fact that if the pressure spring breaks, metal parts fall into the homogenizer arranged at the bottom of the mixing container and destroy it can.
The invention has for its object to provide a stripping device of the type mentioned, which does not have the disadvantages mentioned or to a lesser extent.
The invention solves this problem in that no static external force is applied to the stripper in the direction of the surface to be stripped and in that the stripper has at least one surface by means of which a force component acting on the stripper in the direction of the stripper during stripping due to the dynamic pressure of the material to be stripped surface to be stripped is generated.
First, some terms used in the context of the invention are explained. The attachment of the scraper to the holding device with play perpendicular to the surface to be stripped means that the holding device and the scraper have a freedom from sliding against each other and that this displacement has a directional component perpendicular to the surface to be stripped. The invention is not restricted to those embodiments in which there is only displacement perpendicular to the surface to be stripped.
The phrase "no static external force application" expresses that there are no devices which exert a static external force, that is to say independent of the movement of the stripper, on the stripper in the direction of the surface to be stripped. The scraper is therefore not pressed against the container wall by a spring force or any other pretension. However, the wording does not rule out that, for example, in the case of a correspondingly inclined arrangement of the wiper due to its own weight, gravity exerts a force component directed in the direction of the surface to be wiped off. The gravity acting on the wiper itself should not be included in the wording "no static external force".
The invention is based on the surprising finding that the wiper acts evenly and reliably even when there is no static pressure on the surface to be wiped off. The contact pressure of the stripping device according to the invention automatically adapts to the nature of the material to be stripped and to the stripping speed. A highly viscous product requires a higher contact pressure to wipe it off, which is automatically created by the greater dynamic pressure of the highly viscous mass. By means of this regulation of the contact pressure inherent in the stripper according to the invention, unnecessary wear of the stripper and container wall is avoided. The play of the scraper perpendicular to the surface to be stripped automatically compensates for unevenness and manufacturing inaccuracies in the wall to be stripped. Another advantage of the invention is that the contact pressure always remains the same even if the scraper follows any unevenness in the wall.
The holding devices and the stripper are expediently elongated and the stripper is fastened to the holding device at at least two fastening points arranged along its longitudinal axis. Advantageously, the scraper on its side facing the holding device has recesses into which bolts or pins arranged on the holding device engage. The interaction of these recesses and bolts or pegs is such that the scraper has freedom of movement perpendicular to the container wall.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, each recess in the scraper is formed by a bore which has a section of smaller diameter facing the holding device and a section of larger diameter concentric to the surface to be stripped off. The pin or bolt attached to the holding device and engaging therein is cylindrical and has a diameter which is smaller than the smaller diameter of the bore. The bolt has an annular groove in the area which is arranged in the assembled state of the holding device and the scraper in the larger diameter bore section (that is to say in the end region of the bolt facing away from the holding device). An O-ring is arranged in this ring groove. The outer diameter of the O-ring is larger than the diameter of the bore section facing the holding device. However, it is smaller than or equal to the diameter of the larger diameter bore section facing the surface to be stripped. In this embodiment, the scraper is pressed with the bore on the bolt provided with the O-ring during its assembly.
This embodiment allows the scraper to be assembled and disassembled easily.
As a rule, the stripping device according to the invention will be part of an agitator. The surface to be stripped off is then an essentially rotationally symmetrical surface and the holding device is designed as an agitator arm of this agitator.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one surface of the scraper for pressing the same against the surface to be stripped is formed by the back pressure of the material to be stripped in such a way that in both directions of rotation of the stirring arm by the back pressure of the material to be stripped off, a force component acting on the stripper in the direction is generated on the surface to be stripped. The scraper therefore has an inclined surface or inclined surfaces on which the dynamic pressure of the mixed material generates a force component in the direction of the container wall in both directions of rotation. This design enables a uniform stripping in both directions of rotation of the agitator and thus allows a change in the direction of rotation of the agitator to achieve a more uniform mixing. The scraper is expediently designed to be mirror-symmetrical to its radial plane, so that it achieves an identical scraper effect in both directions of rotation.
The play between the scraper and the holding device is expediently such that pivoting of the scraper relative to the holding device is possible both about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the agitator and about an axis perpendicular to the radial plane which connects the axis of rotation of the agitator with the longitudinal axis of the scraper is. This pivotability allows the scraper to compensate for unevenness and inaccuracies in the angle of the container wall in any direction. In the preferred embodiment described above, such a game can be achieved very simply in that the outer diameter of the O-ring is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the larger diameter bore section, so that a corresponding pivoting of the wiper is possible without tilting the same.
In conventional mixing tanks, the axis of rotation of the agitator is essentially vertical. The agitator can be moved up and out of the mixing container for cleaning and maintenance purposes and, if necessary, for filling and completely emptying the container. It is then appropriate that the top of the scraper is beveled. This means that the upper side has no or at most a small horizontal area. When the agitator is pulled out of a filled mixing container, no or only a little mix remains on the top of the scraper. Mixing material still adhering can run down along the bevelled surfaces and drip back into the mixing container.
The present invention also relates to an agitator that has a stripping device according to the invention. In a particularly advantageous embodiment of this agitator, the elements connecting the agitator arm that carries the scraper to the agitator axis run at least partially outside the radial plane spanned by the agitator axis and the longitudinal axis of the scraper. These connecting elements therefore do not only run straight in the radial plane, rather they are curved or kinked. This shape has the effect that, depending on the direction of rotation of the agitator, the material in the mixing container is conveyed a directional component either towards the center of the container or towards the outer wall of the container during stirring. This results in an even better mixing of the container contents.
The invention further relates to a mixing device with an agitator according to the invention. The mixing device has a container in which the agitator is arranged. For example, heating, cooling, filling and emptying devices and an additional homogenizer can be present.

An agitator, generally designated 2, is arranged in a mixing
In Fig. 2 it can be seen that the connecting
The top of each
In Fig. 4 it can be seen that the
The cleaning of the stripping device is usually carried out as part of a cleaning of the entire system by CIP (cleaning in place) cleaning. In order to ensure optimal cleaning, the
In exceptional cases it may be desirable to carry out a particularly thorough cleaning while dismantling the
