Abstract

A para-oriented aramid molding having low hygroscopic degree, low wet expansion coefficient and good mechanical strengths and hence being useful as a fibrous reinforcement for composite materials and a magnetic recording medium. The molding substantially comprises a para-oriented aramid having a logarithmic viscosity of 3.5 or above and has a density of 1.390 to 1.470 g/cm3. The content of the metal ions bonded to the acidic groups of the aramid molecules is 500 ppm or less.
