Definitions
- the invention relates to a waveguide resonator arrangement and a use therefor.
- a waveguide resonator arrangement is known with a plurality of support rods which fix a dielectric insert in the center of the waveguide.
- the support rods are attached to the waveguide and are immersed in the dielectric insert via corresponding holes on its outer circumference.
- EP 351 840 A2 also discloses a resonator with a dielectric insert.
- the insert is held by two plates that have special centering devices. When the insert is gripped by the centering device, thermal stresses can arise.
- EP 104 735 B1 discloses a waveguide resonator with tuning screws which point in the direction of the dielectric insert.
- EP 328 948 B1 also discloses a dielectric waveguide resonator, wherein the dielectric insert can be fixed in the center of the waveguide in a feed system that can be adjusted with three screws.
- US 3,155,965 discloses a support structure for a ferrite body in a waveguide with radial support pins attached to the outer circumference of the ferrite body.
- the waveguide resonator arrangement with the features of claim 1 is suitable for absorbing thermal stresses better than the arrangements mentioned at the outset, since there are no special sockets.
- the arrangement of the invention is easy to manufacture. So z. B. no holes are provided in the dielectric insert, such as in the subject of EP 438 807 B1. A complex feeding system as in EP 328 948 B1 is also not necessary. Nevertheless, the dielectric insert can be fixed / held very precisely in the direction of wave propagation of the waveguide (waveguide) by the support device and perpendicularly to it, that is to say in a cross-sectional plane of the waveguide, without thermal stresses having an adverse effect.
- any dielectric inserts can be selected, such as. B. balls, cylinders, without making changes to the holding device.
- Dielectric inserts of different geometries can even be interchanged, e.g. B. cylinders through balls and vice versa.
- the arrangement according to the invention can be used universally and for different applications, for. B. different filter structures; Multi-mode filter, suitable.
- the support device has no centering device that leads to unfavorable thermal stresses.
- the waveguide resonator arrangement according to claim 6 is also suitable for absorbing thermal stresses better than previous solutions.
- the dielectric insert can be fixed on its underside to the plate-shaped support device by simple gluing. Inaccuracies in this bonding, e.g. B. centering errors can be compensated by means of the holding device attached to the outer edge of the plate-shaped support device.
- the areal fixation of the dielectric insert ensures good heat transfer without thermal stress.
- An exchange of the dielectric insert is also easily possible here, in particular if the support device (plate) is only attached to the inside of the waveguide with screws and can be removed together with the dielectric insert.
- the heat dissipation can be further improved by a further, in particular glued-on, support plate on the upper side of the dielectric insert. Heat can also be dissipated via clamping bodies without thermal stresses occurring.
- FIG. 1 shows a waveguide resonator arrangement with a waveguide 1 designed, for example, as a round waveguide resonator with a dielectric insert 2, which is preferably arranged centrally in the waveguide.
- the dielectric insert 2 consists of a disk-shaped cylinder. In an embodiment not shown, the dielectric insert can be spherical.
- the dielectric insert 2 consists, for example, of a dielectric ceramic with a high dielectric constant of, for example, 10 to 50. This enables resonators of high quality and low permittivity to be achieved.
- clamping bodies 3 are provided between an outer circumference of the dielectric insert - here between the cylinder jacket and the waveguide 1 - several clamping bodies 3 are provided, which run radially towards the clamping body 3 and only touch it tangentially.
- the clamping body 3 consist of quartz rods, which are preferably evenly distributed in one plane and can be adjusted by threaded screws 31 in the waveguide 1 in the direction of the dielectric insert 3 to the desired clamping pressure and desired position (here center position of the dielectric insert in the waveguide 1).
- three clamping bodies 3 can be provided offset from one another by 120 °.
- Support device 4 is provided for fixing the dielectric insert 2 in a direction (here z-direction) which deviates from the fixing direction (s) (here x-, y-direction in a transverse plane of the waveguide) of the dielectric insert 2 by the clamping body 3
- This support device consists of two plates 41 and 42, a plate 41 resting on a shoulder 5 in the waveguide 1, which represents a change in diameter in the waveguide.
- Another plate 42 is located on the opposite top surface of the cylindrical dielectric insert 2.
- the latter plate 42 is assigned a clamping device 6, z. B. in the form of a grub screw, by means of which the plate 42 is adjustable in the direction of the plate 41.
- the support device 4 can thus fix the dielectric insert in the z direction. If the clamping body 3 has sufficient clamping pressure, the upper plate 42 can possibly be omitted. With strong acceleration stress of the arrangement according to the invention, for. B. for use in satellites, the second plate 42 is usually required for mechanical reasons.
- the plate (s) 41 and 42 are preferably also made of quartz for thermal reasons.
- the plates 41 and 42 preferably have no centering devices, such as steps, webs, etc., which could lead to unfavorable thermal stresses.
- Figure 2 shows a cross section through the circular waveguide 1 with a modification for the clamping body 3.
- Two of the clamping body 31 and 32 consist of perpendicular in the waveguide 1st standing plates preferably made of quartz or ceramic, which touch the dielectric insert 2 tangentially.
- the third clamping body 33 consists, as before, of a rod which can be adjusted to the dielectric insert by means of a screw and is suitable for setting the necessary clamping pressure.
- Figure 3 shows a longitudinal section belonging to this embodiment.
- the clamping bodies 3 consist of circular cylinders or balls which can be adjusted radially in the direction of the dielectric insert 2 by means of grub screws. In this exemplary embodiment, too, the clamping bodies 3 only touch the circular cylinder — or spherical dielectric insert 2 — tangentially.
- the support device 4 can consist of at least one further clamping body, which is suitable for exerting a clamping effect on the dielectric insert 2 in an axial direction, which is different from the orientation (s) for fixing the dielectric insert 2 by the clamping bodies 3 deviates.
- the dielectric insert 2 which is likewise cylindrical here, is fixed mechanically rigidly with respect to the support device - plate 41.
- the plate 41 is mounted on its outer circumference in a holder 8 which is attached to the inner edge of the waveguide 1.
- the insert 2 is fixed to the plate 41 over a large area, for example using a suitable adhesive 7 with good thermal conductivity.
- the clamp body 3 is unnecessary for fixing. However, they can be used for additional heat dissipation.
- the plate 41 consists of an electrically poorly conductive material, which is preferably good heat conductor. Diamond or sapphire are suitable materials for this.
- a good heat transfer from the dielectric insert 2 to the waveguide outer wall / resonator wall can take place both through the areal fixation and through the good heat-conducting plate 41 and the loss energy generated in the dielectric can thus be dissipated quickly.
- Paragraph 5 in waveguide 1 can be used as holder 8, against which plate 41 is pressed by means of a clamping device.
- Suitable non-metallic screws 61, 62 made of plastic, for example, are guided as clamping devices and are guided at an angle of approximately 45 ° in the waveguide wall 1 and press the plate 41 against the shoulder 5.
- a ring 9 can be provided between the screws 61, 62, which are evenly distributed on the plate edge, and the plate 41, which ensures a uniform contact pressure.
- the position of the plate 41 can be adjusted perpendicular to the direction of shaft propagation / axial direction of the insert 2 and inaccuracies in the bonding of the insert 2 to the plate 41 can be compensated (centering). Such centering can also be carried out by means of screws or pins which can be fed onto the plate 41 perpendicular to the waveguide wall.
- the support device 4 consists of a further plate 42, which is glued in particular to the dielectric insert. This can further increase the heat dissipation.
- the plate 42 can be provided with a similar holder as described above.
- additional clamping body 3 in the form of pins, cylinders, etc. made of a good heat-conducting but electrically poorly conductive material such as diamond or sapphire, which tangentially connects the outer casing of the insert 2 touch, can be provided for further heat dissipation.
- these clamping bodies can also be glued in a heat-conducting manner with the insert 2.
- the plate 41 and / or the plate 42 can be coated on its outer edge with solderable material such that the plate 41 or 42 can be soldered to the shoulder 5 and / or to the inner wall of the waveguide.
- the dielectric insert 2 can be soldered onto the plate 41 or 42 if a corresponding metallization has taken place beforehand.
- At least one of the clamping bodies 3, the support device 4, the waveguide inner wall, the dielectric insert 2 and / or the further clamping body can be completely or partially coated with a superconductor. In this way, losses can be reduced and the resonator quality increased.
- filter structures can be constructed, for example by stringing together the aforementioned structures in a waveguide.
- multimode filters can also be constructed which are suitable as channel multiplexers. Since the attachment of the support device or plate (s) only takes place via the waveguide wall in the waveguide propagation direction (z direction), resonator coupling or tuning in the z direction is possible without interference.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a waveguide resonator arrangement and a use therefor.
From EP 438 807 B1 a waveguide resonator arrangement is known with a plurality of support rods which fix a dielectric insert in the center of the waveguide. The support rods are attached to the waveguide and are immersed in the dielectric insert via corresponding holes on its outer circumference.
The insert is held by two plates that have special centering devices. When the insert is gripped by the centering device, thermal stresses can arise.
EP 328 948 B1 also discloses a dielectric waveguide resonator, wherein the dielectric insert can be fixed in the center of the waveguide in a feed system that can be adjusted with three screws. US 3,155,965 discloses a support structure for a ferrite body in a waveguide with radial support pins attached to the outer circumference of the ferrite body.
So müssen z. The waveguide resonator arrangement with the features of
The waveguide resonator arrangement according to

Damit lassen sich Resonatoren hoher Güte und geringer Permitivität erzielen.FIG. 1 shows a waveguide resonator arrangement with a
Between an outer circumference of the dielectric insert - here between the cylinder jacket and the waveguide 1 -
For fixing the
Figure 2 shows a cross section through the
In a further embodiment of the invention according to FIG. 4, the clamping
In a further embodiment of the invention, the support device 4 can consist of at least one further clamping body, which is suitable for exerting a clamping effect on the
In a further embodiment of the invention, which is shown in FIG. 5, the
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6, the support device 4 consists of a
As an alternative to fastening with screws, the
At least one of the clamping
-abstimmung in z-Richtung ungestört möglich. With the waveguide resonator arrangement according to the invention, filter structures can be constructed, for example by stringing together the aforementioned structures in a waveguide. In particular, multimode filters can also be constructed which are suitable as channel multiplexers. Since the attachment of the support device or plate (s) only takes place via the waveguide wall in the waveguide propagation direction (z direction), resonator coupling or tuning in the z direction is possible without interference.
