From WO-A-92/01342 is a coin operated jukebox with a coin unit, a display, an input keyboard and at least one speaker known. The jukebox is via a remote data transmission line with a central Music storage connected to the remote data transmission line suitable for the transmission of sound information and preferably an ISDN line. The known Jukebox thus does not contain a playback unit itself the corresponding associated further device units, but rather is connected to a central music store and from this the desired information, i.e. the selected pieces of music, retrieve. This is the reduced equipment expense of each jukebox and the scope of operation and maintenance is lower. A stocking and exchange of records account for individual jukeboxes. This is only required at the central music store, this one far greater number of pieces of music than a single one Jukebox may contain. The capacity of the central Music storage, which is expediently executed as a database, can be correspondingly better than that of a single Music machines are exploited.
It has also been proposed in WO-A-92/01342, a such terminal in a conventional record player, a tape recorder, a television etc, to integrate the can also be installed in private households.
From DE-A-0 082 077 is a method for remote transmission stored information, in particular pieces of music, known in which stored according to requirement and identification Transfer information via lines or transmitters become.
