Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for processing the ironing surface of an iron sole made of thin sheet metal, the inside of which can be fastened in a heat-conducting manner to an ironing shoe provided with an electric heater and the outside of which forms the ironing surface.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a method for an iron sole made of sheet metal of small thickness, in which the planicity is not changed significantly despite machining of the ironing surface.
- the ironing surface depending on how violently and with which blasting medium it is irradiated, can be provided with a certain fixed roughness, even during the blasting process material of the blasting medium can be slightly applied to the ironing surface.
- the more violent the radiation process that is, the greater the speed and the mass of the particles that strike the ironing surface, the more the appearance and the surface quality of the ironing surface can be changed.
- the pressure on the ironing surface deforms such that it bulges towards one side, i.e. individual areas of the ironing surface are increased due to the increased pressure Bending load more domed than other areas. This applies in particular to the middle area.
- the inside that is to say the side of the soleplate opposite the ironing surface, is now also irradiated according to the invention.
- the bulges due to the radiation compensate for each other and the ironing surface remains essentially flat.
- the thinner the soleplate of the iron the more the one-sided radiation has a disadvantageous effect and the more effectively the invention can be used. Subsequent processing or mechanical planicity or alignment processes can be avoided by the invention, whereby the manufacture of the soleplate is simplified and less expensive.
- the same jet materials, the same steel pressures and nozzles can be used, that is, the same parameters can be used on both sides of the soleplate. This balances out the bulges in different directions before they arise.
- the opposite jet nozzles from which the particles emerge and hit the ironing surface with pressure, can also be arranged on the opposite sides of the iron sole at a distance from it and offset from one another, so that the respectively opposite surface parts of the interior and outside of the iron sole with a time delay be irradiated.
- two radiation nozzles arranged on the opposite sides of the soleplate are sufficient (claim 5).
- a plurality of radiation nozzles can also be formed on both sides in a row, but the number of nozzles should then be the same on both sides. It is advantageous if the nozzles are held firmly in a device while the soles of the irons are guided past the nozzles on a conveyor belt. But it is also conceivable that the nozzles are guided past the soles which are mounted in a stationary manner.
- the method according to the features of claim 1 has proven to be particularly advantageous in the case of relatively thin or soft metal sheets, in particular aluminum.
- the method can of course also be carried out effectively, preferably in a thickness range from 0.1 to 0.7 mm.
- the method has proven to be advantageous for sheet thicknesses of approximately 1 to 6 mm.
- sheets made of two-layer material are also conceivable to reduce weight, wherein if steel and aluminum are used, the inside facing the iron shoe is the aluminum side and the outside serving as the ironing surface is the steel side.
- the soleplate 1 consists of a sheet which is essentially triangular in plan view (not shown) and which preferably consists of aluminum, stainless steel or a sheet composed of two parts.
- the soleplate has an ironing surface 2, which is used for ironing items to be ironed (not shown), such as fabrics.
- the soleplate 1 is arched upwards at both ends, in order to prevent damage to the ironing material and snagging of the latter.
- the soleplate 1 can be provided with steam outlet openings 3, as shown in FIG. 3.
- an adhesive 5 preferably temperature-resistant silicone, is applied to the inside 4, which glues the iron soleplate 1 with an iron shoe 6 via the adhesive surface 7 with good thermal conductivity.
- An electric heater 8 is integrated in the iron shoe 6, which heats up the iron shoe 6 and in particular the soleplate 1 during operation of the iron (not shown).
- the soleplate 1 As can be seen from FIG. 1, the soleplate 1 according to the prior art has a bulge 20, the depth of which has been designated (t). These bulges 20 arise when the soleplate 1 is irradiated from the inside 4. The arch 8 can of course also be distributed unevenly over the soleplate 1.
- nozzles 9, 10 being arranged opposite one another at a distance from the inside 4 and the ironing surface 2 in a device (not shown), the openings 11, 12 of which are essentially perpendicular to the surface of the soleplate 1 are directed.
- the soleplate 1 is firmly clamped at both ends outside of the irradiation area, which is sketched by the clamping points 13, 14.
- the clamping points 13, 14 are fastened on a conveyor device, not shown in the drawing, so that they - and thus also the soleplate 1 - of the conveyor device can be moved to the left according to arrow 15 or to the right.
- the nozzles 9, 10 are fixed in place in an irradiation device. However, like the supports 13, 14, they can also be movably mounted in the irradiation device.
- a blasting agent 16 emerges from the outlet openings 11, 12 of the nozzles 9, 10 at high speed, which blasts onto the ironing surface 2 and at the same time and at the same height on the one side the other side strikes the inside 4 of the soleplate 1.
- the cross section of the two sandblasts 17, 18, which are represented by arrows, is chosen to be the same size, so that the soleplate 1 is exposed to the same area from both sides. Also in this embodiment, the same blasting material 16 made of granular material is used in the sandblasting 17, 18 that strikes the surface 2, 4 of the soleplate 1 with approximately the same pressure.
- the steam outlet openings 3 are sealingly connected via steam chambers (not shown in the drawing) which are formed in the iron shoe 6.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for processing the ironing surface of an iron sole made of thin sheet metal, the inside of which can be fastened in a heat-conducting manner to an ironing shoe provided with an electric heater and the outside of which forms the ironing surface.
In the older, not yet published German patent application P 44 11 790.6-26, an iron is already described in which an iron soleplate made of aluminum sheet is attached to an iron shoe using a silicone adhesive. The soleplate is punched out of an aluminum sheet, stamped, bent or otherwise mechanically processed until it is suitable to be attached to the iron shoe. Such iron soles are also known, for example, from German patent applications 44 22 089 and 44 22 090, which have also not yet been published. In order on the one hand to obtain as uniform a surface contact as possible on the iron soleplate surface serving as a sliding surface with the material to be ironed and on the other hand also on the surface opposite the iron soleplate surface, the most uniform possible adhesive surface, both surfaces must be particularly flat or even. This is also necessary in particular so that the heat transferred from the iron shoe to the soleplate is transferred uniformly over the entire surface of the soleplate to the ironing material. As a result, local temperature peaks and damage to the ironing material can be avoided.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a method for an iron sole made of sheet metal of small thickness, in which the planicity is not changed significantly despite machining of the ironing surface.
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of
At the same time, with this processing operation, the ironing surface, depending on how violently and with which blasting medium it is irradiated, can be provided with a certain fixed roughness, even during the blasting process material of the blasting medium can be slightly applied to the ironing surface. The more violent the radiation process, that is, the greater the speed and the mass of the particles that strike the ironing surface, the more the appearance and the surface quality of the ironing surface can be changed.
If the finest particles, such as metal particles, quartz sand etc., are blasted onto the ironing surface of the soleplate, the pressure on the ironing surface deforms such that it bulges towards one side, i.e. individual areas of the ironing surface are increased due to the increased pressure Bending load more domed than other areas. This applies in particular to the middle area. In order to counteract this deformation during the blasting process, the inside, that is to say the side of the soleplate opposite the ironing surface, is now also irradiated according to the invention. The bulges due to the radiation compensate for each other and the ironing surface remains essentially flat. The thinner the soleplate of the iron, the more the one-sided radiation has a disadvantageous effect and the more effectively the invention can be used. Subsequent processing or mechanical planicity or alignment processes can be avoided by the invention, whereby the manufacture of the soleplate is simplified and less expensive.
Due to the features of
According to the features of
According to the features of
Advantageously, two radiation nozzles arranged on the opposite sides of the soleplate are sufficient (claim 5). However, a plurality of radiation nozzles can also be formed on both sides in a row, but the number of nozzles should then be the same on both sides. It is advantageous if the nozzles are held firmly in a device while the soles of the irons are guided past the nozzles on a conveyor belt. But it is also conceivable that the nozzles are guided past the soles which are mounted in a stationary manner.
The method according to the features of

According to FIGS. 1 to 3, the
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the
When the
