Abstract

In a tube for yarn, especially a twist or spinning tube having a plastic jacket (1; 3; 10) which is entirely or partially conical, care is to be taken to ensure that, during vapour treatment, the condensate forming on the inner surface (8; 11) of the tube is held there and does not drip therefrom. To this end, the inside of the jacket (1; 3; 10) has, at least over a part of its axial length, at least one water-trap section (2; 6; 12), preferably made of porous plastic.

Description

The invention relates to a sleeve for receiving yarn, in particular a twist or spinning sleeve, with a jacket made of plastic, which is cylindrical in whole or in sections or conical in whole or in sections.

The yarn wound on such tubes is usually subjected to a number of thermal treatments. So it becomes e.g. in a steamer calmed by swirl and overheated steam. For the damping, the yarn, in particular wool yarn, is applied to paper tubes. An advantage of these paper tubes is, in particular, the absorbency of their material, with which it is achieved that water droplets that may condense on the inside of the tube are sucked up by the tube material. The disadvantage of these sleeves, however, is that they are limited in their tolerance requirements, especially on the outside diameter, and in their surface design and that they are either slightly damaged during automated handling at the access points or have to be specially reinforced at these points.

It has long been known to use plastic sleeves for receiving, transporting and treating yarns. These sleeves allow sufficient dimensional stability and accuracy, and therefore allow speeds of over 20,000 t / min. Such plastic sleeves can be offered in various colors for organization purposes and can be realized with many different surface structures. They consist of a closed material that is not absorbent, in some cases water-repellent. If the steaming of yarns on the inner surface of the sleeve jacket, where the lowest temperature will usually be present, due to condensation of the Forming steam droplets of water, they are not absorbed by the jacket, but run off along the inner surface and possibly hit the yarn package of an adjacent tube. Condensate stains will then form in this yarn, making the yarn unusable.

The object of the present invention is now to design a sleeve of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that water drops forming in the sleeve are absorbed and thus condensate stains are avoided.

This object is achieved according to the invention in the case of a sleeve of the type mentioned at the outset in that the jacket is provided on the inside at least over part of its axial length with at least one water-absorbing section. If condensate forms on the inner surface of this sleeve, the water drops are taken up in the water-absorbing sections, so that no drops can escape from the sleeve.

The sleeve according to the invention can be designed such that each water-absorbing section is fitted without projections into the inner surface of the sleeve. In this way, there is a smooth inner surface in the axial direction.

The sleeve according to the invention can be designed such that at least one water-absorbing section is designed as an insertion sleeve that fits into the jacket. The insertion sleeve is manufactured separately, inserted into the sleeve and there e.g. fixed by gluing.

Dies kann u.a. Fertigungsvorteile mit sich bringen. The sleeve according to the invention can also be designed such that at least one water-absorbing section is designed as an application layer. The application layer is applied to the inner surface of the sleeve, so that a layer of water-absorbing material is formed in situ. This can include Bring manufacturing advantages.

The sleeve according to the invention can also be designed such that the water-absorbing section extends over the entire sleeve length. In this version, water drops can be picked up immediately at the point of condensation. This version is particularly suitable when there is a relatively high amount of condensate.

The sleeve according to the invention can also be designed such that it is provided with at least one water-absorbing section starting from a sleeve end.

The sleeve according to the invention can also be designed such that it is provided with at least one water-absorbing section starting at a distance from a sleeve end. A boundary sleeve can be placed in front of the water-repellent section in order to fix this section.

The sleeve according to the invention can also be designed such that at least one water-absorbing section is formed from porous plastic.

The sleeve according to the invention can also be designed such that at least one water-absorbing section is formed from porous polyethylene.

The sleeve according to the invention can also be designed such that at least one water-absorbing section is formed from absorbent paper, from absorbent cardboard or absorbent nonwoven material.

Finally, the sleeve according to the invention can be designed such that at least one water-absorbing section is formed from hygroscopic material.
