Abstract

The invention concerns a device for connecting a coaxial cable (6) to two contacts (7, 10) which can be connected to extension lead arrangements (14). The contacts (7, 10) of the device are secured in a known manner in a housing (1). One (7) of the contacts projects like a pin into a cavity (3) in the housing (1) and the other (10) surrounds this first contact (7) coaxially in the cavity (3). The housing is provided with an insert (11) having a bore (11a) for accommodating the coaxial cable (6) which can be clamped against the housing (1) by a clamping nut (5), so securing the coaxial cable. According to the invention, the device is configured so that the coaxial cable need only be cut off smoothly at its end, perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, in order to prepare the connection before introduction into the insert (11). The connection can then be brought about automatically without additional manoeuvres when the clamping nut (5) is tightened.
