Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for locking end regions of at least one shoelace.
Proposals for such devices are described in EP-0 314 628 A2,
However, the known devices have a number of disadvantages. The known devices often consist of a relatively large number of individual parts, a fact which increases the production costs and can lead to early wear of the devices. In particular, some of the known devices have spring means for locking the shoelaces, so that when the spring properties of the spring means decrease, the devices become unusable. Furthermore, the known devices fix the shoelaces only in a relatively small area of the shoelace, with the result that the fixation of the shoelaces is relatively weak and a large part of the shoelaces remains accessible without protection. This led to problems, in particular with high-heeled footwear with long shoelaces.
The present invention is therefore based on the object of providing an improved device for locking laces which avoids the disadvantages of the known devices. This object is achieved according to the invention by a device for locking laces, which is characterized by the following features:
a base element containing a first sheet and a hub protruding from the first sheet and at least two openings spaced from the hub in the first sheet; and
a cap element containing a second sheet which is substantially spaced apart from the first sheet of the base element and at least two openings in the second sheet,
wherein the cap element and the base element are connected to one another in such a way that the cap element and the base element are rotatable relative to one another and in at least one position of the cap element relative to the base element two openings of the base element interact with two further openings of the cap element such that an end region of a shoelace through a A pair of cooperating openings and another end region of the same shoelace or a further shoelace can be passed through another pair of interacting openings and the end regions can be wound onto the hub by rotating the cap element relative to the base element and / or by rotating the base element relative to the cap element.
The winding up of the end regions of the shoelace enables a secure and uncomplicated locking of the end regions of the shoelaces, which are thus largely protected against wear due to kinking, shearing or tearing. The device according to the invention enables the end regions of the shoelace to be wound up, for example, by simply rotating the cap element relative to the base element, so that further individual parts, in particular spring means, can be dispensed with. This permits simple and wear-free handling of the device according to the invention.
It is advantageous if the end region of one or more shoelaces can be wound onto one another in a crossing manner by rotating the cap element relative to the base element and / or by rotating the base element relative to the cap element.
It is preferred if two openings are provided in each of the first flat structure of the base element and in the second flat structure of the cap element, two openings in the first flat structure of the base element and in the cap element preferably being diametrically opposed and at the same distance from the hub .
It is particularly preferred if the openings are as far apart as possible from the hub and are therefore preferably arranged at the outer end of the first and second flat structure.
In a preferred development of the device according to the invention, the first flat structure of the base element and / or the second flat structure of the cap element has an edge area in such a way that the first and the second flat structure touch and a closed unit consisting of the cap element and the base element is present. This protects the end regions of the shoelaces from dirt and external influences, which results in greater safety when using the device according to the invention (e.g. walking through scrub or undergrowth).
It is further preferred if the first flat structure of the base element is provided with a bead-shaped, elastic edge. The bead-shaped, elastic edge allows the device according to the invention to be adapted well to the wearer's footwear, which results in pleasant wearing properties Consequence. In addition, the bead-shaped, elastic edge can be designed so that it cooperates with the edge of the cap element, so that there is a tight seal of the device according to the invention.
It is particularly preferred if the second flat structure of the cap element is detachably attached to the hub. In a preferred development of the device according to the invention, the hub has a bore and the second flat structure of the cap element is rotatably connected to the base element by means of a pin-shaped fastening means which can be inserted into the bore in the hub.
It is particularly preferred if the hub has a circumferential groove for receiving shoelaces. During the first rotations of the cap element relative to the base element, some areas of the two laces bind in the circumferential groove and are secured with the remaining ends of the shoelaces by further upward or angling. This creates a particularly secure locking of the laces. If the circumferential groove is provided with teeth and / or the circumferential groove has a V-shaped cross-section which tapers towards the inside of the hub, this effect is further enhanced.
To simplify handling of the device according to the invention, the cap element preferably has a profile on its upper side in order to facilitate twisting of the cap element. It is also useful if the cap member and the base member have markings to facilitate passage of the end portions of at least one shoelace through the pairs of cooperating openings of the base member and the cap member.
