Definitions
- the invention relates to a circuit arrangement for accelerating and braking the rotating anode of a rotating anode X-ray tube, in which the stator windings of the drive motor for the rotating anode can be supplied with phase-shifted alternating voltages in an acceleration mode and in which, in a braking mode, at least one of the windings acts on a DC voltage, with a control device for the acceleration mode and the braking mode.
- Such a circuit arrangement is known from US Pat. No. 3,963,930.
- the stator windings are optionally connected via a series of switches to an AC voltage source for a low speed, an AC voltage source for a high speed and a DC voltage source.
- the switches are controlled by a control device so that one of the two AC voltage sources is connected to the stator windings in the acceleration mode and the DC voltage source in the braking mode.
- the large number of switches required for this as well as the fact that separate voltage sources are required for the high speed and the braking process make this circuit arrangement complex.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a simple circuit arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset.
- This object is achieved in that at least one of the stator windings is connected to a voltage source which supplies a periodic AC voltage in a first operating state and a pulsating DC voltage in a second operating state in that a diode arrangement of such polarity which can be switched on and off is connected in parallel to this stator winding that it is operated in the reverse direction by the pulsating DC voltage source and that the control device in acceleration mode keeps the AC voltage source in the first operating state and switches off the diode arrangement and that in braking mode it keeps the AC voltage source in the second state and switches on the diode arrangement.
- the voltage source that feeds the stator winding is therefore effective both in acceleration mode and in braking mode.
- the diode arrangement which is only effective in braking mode, in the simplest case a diode, causes the power loss in braking mode to remain small and therefore prevents the components from being destroyed.
- the AC voltage source has two switching elements, each with a switch, that the switches are connected to a DC voltage and are periodically switched in the first operating state, and that in the second operating state, one switching element is blocked and the other periodically on and off is switched off.
- the switching elements connect the DC voltage alternately with the opposite polarity to the one stator winding, and by blocking the one switching element, the pulsating DC voltage required for the braking mode can be easily generated.
- At least one of the switching elements has a double function, i.e. it works in acceleration and braking modes, which further reduces the amount of shifting.
- the two switching elements in conjunction with the DC voltage source supplying the DC voltage act as an inverter, and it is clear that - in the case of a drive motor with two stator windings - another inverter could be constructed for the other stator winding with the aid of two further switching elements but the same DC voltage source Output voltage would be offset by 90 ° compared to that of the first inverter.
- the advantage over drives in which the phase of the alternating voltage for the one stator winding is rotated by means of an auxiliary capacitor would be that two voltages with the same power, which are staggered at an angle of 90, could be generated.
- means for generating a control signal offset by 90 with respect to the voltage on the second stator winding are provided and that means are provided for deriving the switching signals for the switching elements from the control signal. This makes it particularly easy to establish the 90 * phase relationship between the voltages on the stator windings.
- a square-wave voltage source (33, 34) which generates a square-wave signal with an adjustable pulse duty factor for controlling the one switching element (21) in braking mode.
- the strength of the braking process can be influenced by this configuration.
- FIG. 1 denotes the rotor of a drive motor carrying the rotating anode for the rotating anode of a rotating anode X-ray tube, and 2 and 3 the associated stator windings, which are offset by 90 ° from one another.
- the rotor is a squirrel-cage rotor and the drive motor is an asynchronous motor.
- the stator windings 1, 2 and the rotor There is a relatively large distance between the stator windings 1, 2 and the rotor, because during operation of the X-ray tube the cathode carries high voltage potential and the stator winding has ground potential. This results in a slight magnetic coupling between rotor 1 and stator 2, 3. Otherwise, the rotating anode X-ray tube is not shown in detail.
- the electrical power for acceleration and deceleration is taken from the three connections L1, L2, L3 of a three-phase network, at which there are three AC voltages offset by 120 with respect to their common zero point N at the mains frequency.
- a positive DC voltage is generated from the three AC voltages by a rectifier diode 18 on a capacitor 10;
- a negative DC voltage is generated from the three AC voltages on oppositely polarized rectifier diodes 18 on a capacitor 20.
- the two capacitors 10 and 20 are connected in series and connected at their common connection point to the zero point N of the three-phase network, which is also connected to the two stator windings 2 and 3 common connection point 5.
- the connections of the capacitors 10 and 20 facing away from the common connection point are connected to one another via controllable switches in the form of IGBT transistors 11, 21.
- the common connection point of the two transistors is connected to the second terminal 4 of the stator winding 2.
- the IGBT transistors 11 and 21 each have a diode 12, 22 connected in anti-parallel. These diodes are therefore normally non-conductive, unless the voltage at connection 4 is more positive than the voltage at capacitor 10 or more negative than the voltage at capacitor 20.
- the elements 10 ... 12 or 20 ... 22 represent an inverter in a half-bridge circuit. Instead, an inverter in a full-bridge circuit could also be used, in which the stator winding 2 is connected to a DC voltage source via two switching elements, each with two switches , as known from US-PS 3,832,553. However, the effort would be higher - even if one of the rectifier groups 18 or 28 and the associated capacitor 10 or 20 could be omitted. - When the rotating anode is accelerated, switches 11 and 21 are switched on and off in push-pull mode, so that a square-wave alternating voltage (without DC component) results at stator winding 2.
- the series connection of a diode 30 and an IGBT transistor switch 31 is also connected in parallel to the stator winding 2. This transistor switch is only conductive (closed) in the braking phase.
- the connection 6 of the second winding 3 is connected to the AC voltage connection L1 via a (triac) switch 7.
- the switches 7, 11, 21 and 31 are switched via optocouplers, one part of which - the receiving part 8a, 13a, 23a, 32a - is shown in FIG. 1 and the other part - the transmitting part 8b, 13b, 23b and 32b - in Fig. 2 is shown in connection with the control device.
- the control device supplies the switching signals required to control the four switches mentioned.
- a synchronous, in-phase signal is generated which is fed to a 90 ° phase shifter 16, preferably an integrator, whose output signal is offset by 90 from its input signal.
- the output signal of the phase shifter 16 is fed to the first input of an AND gate 24 and via an inverter 17 to the first input of an AND gate 14.
- the second inputs of these AND gates are connected to a control input ACL, which is also connected to the optocoupler 8b / 8a for controlling the switch 7.
- the output of the AND gate 14 is connected to the optocoupler 13b / a for controlling the IGBT transistor 11, while the AND gate 24 is connected to the one input of an OR gate 36, the output of which is connected to the optocoupler 23b / a which provides the switching signals for the IGBT switching transistor 21.
- the control device also contains a generator 33 which generates a triangular AC voltage of, for example, 320 Hz.
- This AC voltage is compared in a comparator 34 with an adjustable DC voltage V R , so that a 320 Hz square-wave signal results at the output of the comparator, the pulse duty factor of which depends on the polarity of the DC voltage V R and its magnitude in relation to the triangular signal of the generator 33.
- the output signal of the comparator 34 is fed to one input of an AND gate 35, the output of which is connected to the second input of the OR gate 36.
- the second input of the AND gate 35 is connected to a control input BRT, which at the same time controls the IGBT switch 31 via the optocoupler 32b / 32a.
- the square-wave voltage on the stator winding 2 has the same amplitude as the sinusoidal AC voltage on the stator winding 3. Because the sinusoidal fundamental oscillation contained in a square-wave voltage has an amplitude that is approximately 27% higher than the square-wave voltage, the current through winding 2 is correspondingly greater than the current through stator winding 3 in the case of identically constructed stator windings. This asymmetry is not intrinsically disturbing; if necessary, it can be eliminated in that the stator winding 2 has a correspondingly higher number of windings.
- the signal ACL After the acceleration period has expired, the signal ACL also becomes "0". The rotating anode has then reached its target speed and, due to its moment of inertia, continues to run even during the following X-ray exposure. All switches are locked.
- the rotating anode After the end of the x-ray, the rotating anode is braked to protect its bearings. Braking a rotating anode would in principle be possible with the help of a so-called rotating field brake, which, however, would also require the measurement or simulation of the respective speed in addition to a multi-phase inverter, since the rotating anode could not be stopped without their knowledge.
- a regenerative braking in which the energy stored in the rotor is fed back into a braking resistor via a rectifier, would have no effect due to the low magnetic coupling between the rotor and stator.
- braking the rotor by means of a DC voltage derived from the network remains.
- the invention therefore goes a different way.
- the signal at the control input BRT is set to "1 and at ACL to" 0.
- the switch 31 is turned on via the optocoupler 32a, 32b, so that the diode 30 acts in parallel with the stator winding 2.
- the switch 7 is blocked because it is not activated via the optocoupler 8a / b.
- the switch 11 is also blocked because the AND gate 14 does not pass any switching pulses to the optocoupler 13a / b.
- rectangular pulses with an adjustable pulse duty factor now pass through the AND gate 35 and the OR gate 36 to the optocoupler 23a / b and periodically switch the switch 21 on and off.
- a pulsating DC voltage is generated at terminal 4, ie a (rectangular) AC voltage with a superimposed DC component.
- a direct current with a certain ripple flows in the stator winding 2, which causes a magnetic field braking the rotor 1. If the diode 30 were not effective in parallel to the stator winding 2, the current would be in the pulse pauses, ie when the switch 21 is blocked the diode 12 flows, which - as already mentioned - would cause the capacitor 10 to be charged further or would require additional electrical power in the order of magnitude of the braking power required for braking the rotor.
- the circuit arrangement can also be operated on a single-phase AC network, the AC voltage having to be supplied to the connection L1. Additional capacitors would then have to be connected in parallel to the capacitors 10, 20 in order to keep the ripple of the DC voltage low.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for accelerating and braking the rotating anode of a rotating anode X-ray tube, in which the stator windings of the drive motor for the rotating anode can be supplied with phase-shifted alternating voltages in an acceleration mode and in which, in a braking mode, at least one of the windings acts on a DC voltage, with a control device for the acceleration mode and the braking mode.
Such a circuit arrangement is known from US Pat. No. 3,963,930. The stator windings are optionally connected via a series of switches to an AC voltage source for a low speed, an AC voltage source for a high speed and a DC voltage source. The switches are controlled by a control device so that one of the two AC voltage sources is connected to the stator windings in the acceleration mode and the DC voltage source in the braking mode. The large number of switches required for this as well as the fact that separate voltage sources are required for the high speed and the braking process make this circuit arrangement complex.
The object of the present invention is to provide a simple circuit arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset. This object is achieved in that at least one of the stator windings is connected to a voltage source which supplies a periodic AC voltage in a first operating state and a pulsating DC voltage in a second operating state in that a diode arrangement of such polarity which can be switched on and off is connected in parallel to this stator winding that it is operated in the reverse direction by the pulsating DC voltage source and that the control device in acceleration mode keeps the AC voltage source in the first operating state and switches off the diode arrangement and that in braking mode it keeps the AC voltage source in the second state and switches on the diode arrangement. The voltage source that feeds the stator winding is therefore effective both in acceleration mode and in braking mode. The diode arrangement, which is only effective in braking mode, in the simplest case a diode, causes the power loss in braking mode to remain small and therefore prevents the components from being destroyed.
A preferred development of the invention provides that the AC voltage source has two switching elements, each with a switch, that the switches are connected to a DC voltage and are periodically switched in the first operating state, and that in the second operating state, one switching element is blocked and the other periodically on and off is switched off. The switching elements connect the DC voltage alternately with the opposite polarity to the one stator winding, and by blocking the one switching element, the pulsating DC voltage required for the braking mode can be easily generated. At least one of the switching elements has a double function, i.e. it works in acceleration and braking modes, which further reduces the amount of shifting.
The two switching elements in conjunction with the DC voltage source supplying the DC voltage act as an inverter, and it is clear that - in the case of a drive motor with two stator windings - another inverter could be constructed for the other stator winding with the aid of two further switching elements but the same DC voltage source Output voltage would be offset by 90 ° compared to that of the first inverter. The advantage over drives in which the phase of the alternating voltage for the one stator winding is rotated by means of an auxiliary capacitor would be that two voltages with the same power, which are staggered at an angle of 90, could be generated. The same advantage, but a further simplification, is achieved according to a further development of the invention in that a rectifier arrangement is provided, the DC voltage output of which is connected to the first stator winding via the switching elements, and the AC voltage input of which is connected to the second stator winding. Switching elements for a second inverter and the actuation required for this are thus eliminated.
In a further embodiment it is provided that means for generating a control signal offset by 90 with respect to the voltage on the second stator winding are provided and that means are provided for deriving the switching signals for the switching elements from the control signal. This makes it particularly easy to establish the 90 * phase relationship between the voltages on the stator windings.
Another development of the invention provides that a square-wave voltage source (33, 34) is provided which generates a square-wave signal with an adjustable pulse duty factor for controlling the one switching element (21) in braking mode. The strength of the braking process can be influenced by this configuration.
- Fig. 1 die erfindungsgemäße Schaltungsanordnung und
- Fig. 2 die zugehörige Steuereinrichtung.

- Fig. 2 the associated control device.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes the rotor of a drive motor carrying the rotating anode for the rotating anode of a rotating anode X-ray tube, and 2 and 3 the associated stator windings, which are offset by 90 ° from one another. The rotor is a squirrel-cage rotor and the drive motor is an asynchronous motor. There is a relatively large distance between the stator windings 1, 2 and the rotor, because during operation of the X-ray tube the cathode carries high voltage potential and the stator winding has ground potential. This results in a slight magnetic coupling between rotor 1 and stator 2, 3. Otherwise, the rotating anode X-ray tube is not shown in detail.
The electrical power for acceleration and deceleration is taken from the three connections L1, L2, L3 of a three-phase network, at which there are three AC voltages offset by 120 with respect to their common zero point N at the mains frequency. A positive DC voltage is generated from the three AC voltages by a
The
The series connection of a
The
In this case, in the
The control device also contains a
- If the user has an x-ray wants to make, the rotor 1 must be accelerated from standstill to its nominal speed. For this purpose, the signal at the control input ACL is set to "1" for a defined period of time, for example one second, while the control signal at the control input BRT remains "0". As a result, during this period, the AND
14 and 24 supply square-wave signals which are in phase opposition to one another and which switch the IGBT switches 11 and 21 on and off in push-pull mode via thegates optocouplers 13a / b and 23a / b, respectively, so that a stator winding 2 turns on Rectangular voltage with mains frequency results in a phase shift of 90 compared to the mains voltage between L1 and N. At the same time, theoptocoupler 8b / a makes theswitch 7 conductive during the period mentioned, so that a sinusoidal AC voltage is present at the stator winding 3. In principle, it would also be possible to supply the stator winding 3 with a square-wave voltage through a second inverter. However, this would require additional IGBT switches and optocouplers, which would increase the circuit complexity.
Since the DC voltage on the
After the acceleration period has expired, the signal ACL also becomes "0". The rotating anode has then reached its target speed and, due to its moment of inertia, continues to run even during the following X-ray exposure. All switches are locked.
After the end of the x-ray, the rotating anode is braked to protect its bearings. Braking a rotating anode would in principle be possible with the help of a so-called rotating field brake, which, however, would also require the measurement or simulation of the respective speed in addition to a multi-phase inverter, since the rotating anode could not be stopped without their knowledge. - A regenerative braking, in which the energy stored in the rotor is fed back into a braking resistor via a rectifier, would have no effect due to the low magnetic coupling between the rotor and stator. - As a practically feasible alternative, braking the rotor by means of a DC voltage derived from the network remains.
If one were to use one of the direct voltages at the
Die Erfindung geht daher einen anderen Weg.The invention therefore goes a different way.
For braking, a fixed period of time sufficient for complete braking, e.g. 1 sec, the signal at the control input BRT is set to "1 and at ACL to" 0. "As a result, the
As a result, a pulsating DC voltage is generated at terminal 4, ie a (rectangular) AC voltage with a superimposed DC component. As a result, a direct current with a certain ripple flows in the stator winding 2, which causes a magnetic field braking the rotor 1. If the
Instead of a three-phase network, the circuit arrangement can also be operated on a single-phase AC network, the AC voltage having to be supplied to the connection L1. Additional capacitors would then have to be connected in parallel to the
