Description
The invention relates to a monofilament with a Diameter from 0.01 to 0.1 mm, from a copolyester made of polyethylene terephthalate / polydialkylsiloxane, its polyethylene terephthalate content has at least 85% by weight for Manufacture of fabrics and the use thereof Tissue.
When weaving dense fabrics made of fine monofilaments peeling and splices often occur from polyester from the surface of the monofilament. The peeling residues are deposited on the reeds. Hereby weaving is often impossible or the cleaning cycle the weaving machine is too short. Because of peeling there is also a deterioration in tissue quality, in particular by clogging the tissue openings on. The phenomenon is in the bad Abrasion resistance of polyester threads for example, polyamide threads.
Such monofilaments are among fine monofilaments understand whose diameter is in the range of 0.01 to 0.1 mm lie.
There has been no shortage of attempts to improve the weavability of to improve fine monofilaments made of polyester. The One disadvantage of insufficient weavability, for example by making a core / sheath thread with one Tried to bypass polyamide coat. This solution however, requires an increased effort in monofilament production and is therefore not economical.
But they are also monofilaments with a fine diameter known, so-called bicomponent threads, the core of which consists of one different copolyester than the sheath (EP-A-0 399 053). Here it has succeeded through chemical modification of the jacket relatively fine polyester monofilaments to manufacture, which are almost abrasion-free weave. But as described above, the higher workload also applies here in the production of core / sheath threads as disadvantageous.
It is also known (EP-A-0 269 023), silicone modified To produce polyester in the form of a matrix fiber. The silicone matrix serves as protection against the mechanical Strain on the thread during weaving and others textile process. Have coatings in all shapes the disadvantage of fine monofilaments that weaving impossible because of peeling and increased fibrillation becomes. When it comes to coating monofilaments it is also a complex process.
The object of the invention is to improve the weavability of fine To improve polyester monofilaments in warp and weft, no peeling, splicing and to generate no abrasion and the running times when weaving to extend by reduced cleaning effort.
The object is achieved with the features of
Copolyesters have proven to be particularly suitable which are either already in the form of granules or by adding immediately before extrusion functionalized polydialkylsiloxanes are modified and about 0.5% by weight silicon in the finished thread contain. Polysiloxanes of the type used as the starting material are intended for use according to the invention known from EP-A-0 269 023. The well-known chemically modified polymers are used to manufacture matrix fibers, are however in the present form for precision fabrics unsuitable for filter media, screen printing.
It is particularly useful if the coefficient of friction "Thread / thread" µ <0.30 and the coefficient of friction "Ceramic / thread" µ is <0.50. That has the Advantage of improved weavability of the monofilament on standard weaving machines.
It is also appropriate if the monofilament has a residual tear strength of> 85% on the knot-free monofilament with a maximum tensile strength extension of 18%. At this Combination we the knot strength of the monofilament significantly improved.
It is expedient if the Si content is 0.05 to 2.0% by weight, in particular 0.05 to 1.5, preferably 0.05 to 1.0 % By weight, based on the weight of the monofilament is.
To determine the abrasion and the peeling a test device under web-like conditions used.
The abrasion of the polyester monofilament modified according to the invention is on the web sheet of the used Test device is still very weakly visible however no longer weighable. It is particularly beneficial that when making a fabric on a Interim cleaning of the loom Reeds are not absolutely necessary, or that the cleaning cycle is extended. This will also the quality of the fabrics improved significantly.
The use of the polyester / polydialkylsiloxane monofilaments according to the invention is especially for manufacturing of fabrics for filter media, sieves and those for Suitable for screen printing.
The invention will be described in more detail using an example to be discribed.
The monofilaments were further drawn on a drawing machine to the maximum tensile force extension of 28 +/- 2% or 20 +/- 2% stretched in one stage at 200 ° C. at 100 m / min.
Die wichtigsten Fadeneigenschaften sind in Tabelle I
zusammengefasst:

As can be seen from the K / D diagram in FIG. 1, with polyester / polydimethylsiloxane 2.2 'about the same mechanical properties at a given Residual elongation compared to pure polyethylene terephthalate 1.1 'received. All drawn threads showed shrinkage values from 5-6%.
Figure 2 gives the result of a web test in the form of photographic recordings of the reed used again. The threads with positions 1-4 are according to the invention and show very little abrasion and Peeling; the threads are in accordance with items 5-10 Comparative tests without PDMS and show considerable Abrasion or peeling on the reed of the Test machine. It follows from that that monofilament according to the invention is essential shows improved weavability and longer working cycles.
The determination of the coefficient of friction is based on the Rope friction equation. The measurement of the coefficient of friction was carried out with a device from Rothschild measuring instruments, Zurich, during 2 minutes. The determination of the coefficient of friction "ceramic / thread" shows the ceramic pin a diameter of 20 mm and a roughness from 0.45 to.
It is surprising that the monofilament is made of PET / PDMS about 10% lower coefficients of friction both in the case Thread / thread as well as in the case of ceramic / thread.
Although not essential in the variant with Dt = 28% The variant shows the difference PET / PDMS with Dt = 18% surprisingly a lower one Loss of tensile strength.
Zur weiteren Bestimmung der Webbarkeit wurde folgende selbst entwickelte Methode (Fibrillationstest) angewendet:The following was used to further determine the weavability self-developed method (fibrillation test) applied:
To determine the fibrillation of monofilaments for Sieve cloth becomes a bundle of the same monofilaments at a frequency of 2000 to 3200 rpm for 10 Minutes struck against a standardized solid. In Table IV is the results of the fibrillation test summarized, with the following meaning Has:
