Definitions
- the invention relates to a shielded electrical subrack with a rear wall wiring, the contact pins for plug-in connectors on the rear e.g. of cable connectors, the connectors being covered by a shield plate which is provided with circumferential, feathered spring contacts which can be contacted with grounded contact pins of the rear wall wiring.
- Such a structure is e.g. become known through the documents of the German utility model G 90 15 255. Due to the narrow distribution of the grounded contact pins, they form an additional shielding jacket that bridges the distance between the cable connector and the rear wall wiring plate.
- the invention has for its object to improve the contact with the contact pins and the shielding effect.
- the shielding plate on the back of the backplane wiring plate shields unshielded wires within the subrack.
- these individual wires were previously only protected by the rear wall of a housing cabinet in which the subrack is inserted. This could cause interference radiation between the individual subracks occur.
- the shield plate is provided with openings at all points where plugs can be arranged. Openings that are not occupied can be closed, for example, with cover caps which are designed similarly to the shielding jacket of the plug connection.
- the contact pins are now supported on the inner wall of the opening, they can no longer deflect when the connector is plugged in and when the feathered contact tongues meet the contact pins. This increases the contact force between the contact tongues and the contact pins, as a result of which better contacting is achieved. This already gives a better shielding effect. This is further improved in that a direct contact is made between the grounded contact pins and the shield plate.
- the grounded contact pins are contacted with at least one shield layer of a backplane wiring board. This creates a close-knit ground connection between the connector shield, the shield plate and the ground layers of the rear wall wiring, which increases the overall shielding even further.
- a multi-pin connector 1 is attached to a circuit board 2 to which e.g. one or more cables can be connected.
- the connector has a feathered shield jacket 3, which largely encloses the connector 1 with the exception of its plug side.
- the shield jacket 3 is made of strip material which is provided with a bulge extending in its longitudinal direction. This has a multiplicity of closed transverse slots 5, between which the shield jacket 3 forms leaf-spring-like contact tongues 4, which essentially extend in the insertion direction.
- the contact tongues 4 are located near the plug side of the connector 1.
- the connector 1 is plugged into contact pins 7 of a backplane wiring board 8.
- the contact tongues 4 are located in the vicinity of contact springs 9 of the connector 1 and are contacted with adjacent earth contact pins 10 of the backplane wiring board 8.
- the earth contact pins 10 are extended beyond the contact pins 7.
- a shield plate 11 of the assembly frame extends above the ends of the contact pins 7. This is provided with openings 12 for the connector 1 and the adjacent earth contact pins 10. These protrude into the openings 12 and rest on the inner wall thereof.
- the contact tongues 4 rest against the earth contact pins 10 under spring tension from the opposite side, so that they are pressed accordingly against the inner wall of the openings 12.
- the earth contact pins 10 are in contact with ground layers 13 of the rear wiring plate, which creates a close-knit connection between the shield shell 3, the shield plate 11 and the rear wall wiring plate 8.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a shielded electrical subrack with a rear wall wiring, the contact pins for plug-in connectors on the rear e.g. of cable connectors, the connectors being covered by a shield plate which is provided with circumferential, feathered spring contacts which can be contacted with grounded contact pins of the rear wall wiring.
Such a structure is e.g. become known through the documents of the German utility model G 90 15 255. Due to the narrow distribution of the grounded contact pins, they form an additional shielding jacket that bridges the distance between the cable connector and the rear wall wiring plate.
The invention has for its object to improve the contact with the contact pins and the shielding effect.
This object is achieved by the invention according to
Since the contact pins are now supported on the inner wall of the opening, they can no longer deflect when the connector is plugged in and when the feathered contact tongues meet the contact pins. This increases the contact force between the contact tongues and the contact pins, as a result of which better contacting is achieved. This already gives a better shielding effect. This is further improved in that a direct contact is made between the grounded contact pins and the shield plate.
According to an advantageous development of the invention, the grounded contact pins are contacted with at least one shield layer of a backplane wiring board. This creates a close-knit ground connection between the connector shield, the shield plate and the ground layers of the rear wall wiring, which increases the overall shielding even further.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.

According to Figure 2, the
In addition to the grounded shield plate 11, the earth contact pins 10 are in contact with ground layers 13 of the rear wiring plate, which creates a close-knit connection between the
