Abstract

The invention relates to a mounting rack (1) for electrical service apparatuses (installation apparatuses), which mounting rack (1) can be connected to a holder for the mounting rack, for example to busbars. It is proposed that the mounting rack have an adaptor lower part (2), which can be connected to the holder, and an adaptor upper part (3), which is used to accommodate at least one service apparatus, the adaptor lower part (2) and the adaptor upper part (3) being constructed as separate components which can be connected to one another, and it being possible to connect adaptor upper parts of different physical size to an adaptor lower part having a defined physical size. With this design, universal use of the mounting rack becomes possible, particularly taking account of modular construction. While the dimensions of the adaptor upper part are matched to the dimensions of the service apparatus or apparatuses, a standardised adaptor lower part is used for the connection, which can be connected to any of the possible adaptor upper parts. A high level of preassembly of the electrical service apparatus or apparatuses with the mounting rack is thus possible. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a device carrier for electrical installation devices with an adapter upper part provided for receiving at least one installation device and with an adapter lower part which can be connected to a holder, the upper part of the adapter and the lower part of the adapter being connectable to one another.

From DE-A1-4124487 a device carrier of the type mentioned is known. The adapter described there is used to attach and connect electrical devices. An adapter base is attached to busbars. This lower part of the adapter can be fitted with an upper part of the adapter to compensate for the different installation depths of the electrical devices that can be attached to it. With this arrangement, corresponding adapter upper parts must be prepared for all the intended installation depths, which results in economic disadvantages. The upper part of the adapter can only be attached to a lower part of the adapter attached to busbars; no other application is intended. The applicability of this device carrier is therefore limited.

From US-A-4931903 a supply unit with a base plate and with a lid made of plastic is known. The base plate carries live busbars and several switches protecting the outgoing lines. The switches are designed to be pluggable on the busbars. An adapter can be attached to the base plate, which is intended to accommodate various auxiliary devices. The adapter is designed so that several auxiliary devices can be attached to it. If fewer auxiliary devices are needed than there are spaces, the adapter is not fully used. An expansion of the mounting locations for the auxiliary devices is not planned. The busbars housed in the supply unit are connected via cables. The entire supply unit can only be attached to one wall. Seen overall, this supply unit is only economically advantageous for a very specific number of outlets and auxiliary devices.

To compensate for the different widths of the electrical devices to be attached to the adapter This adapter provides additional baying housings that can be attached to the sides of the adapter and are adapted to the respective device width, which entail economic disadvantages.

Another device carrier for electrical installation devices is known from DE-C2-2646123. In this case, the electrical installation device is connected to the device carrier by means of a mounting rail onto which the foot of the installation device can be plugged. A disadvantage of the known equipment carrier is that, because of its one-piece design, it does not permit extensive pre-assembly of the electrical installation device or devices.

It is an object of the invention to provide a device carrier for electrical installation devices that can be used universally and is particularly suitable for a modular construction that enables extensive pre-assembly of the electrical installation device (s) with the device carrier.

The object is achieved in that each adapter upper part can optionally be plugged together with an adapter lower part which can be fastened to a holder in the manner of a wall or with an adapter lower part which can be fastened to a holder in the manner of a busbar system, and can be latched in the plugged-in position, adapter upper parts being defined with an adapter lower part of different sizes can be connected, and that each adapter upper part can be connected to a further adapter upper part of the same or different size, which is not assigned to the device carrier and is intended for receiving at least one installation device. The installation device (s) are connected to one or more adapter upper parts having the corresponding size in accordance with the required space. The adapter lower parts are either attached to brackets, such as on a wall or to a busbar system. The adapter upper parts and the adapter lower parts can be easily attached to one another by means of a plug connection. In order to secure the plug connection, the parts can be locked in the assembled position. An essential further element of the invention is that upper adapter parts of different sizes can be connected to a lower adapter part of a defined size. If a lot of space is required for attaching the electrical installation device (s) to the upper part of the adapter, an upper part with correspondingly large dimensions is used, which is connected to the lower part of the standard size. If the electrical installation device takes up little space, a Adapter upper part with smaller dimensions Use, which is also connected to a standard-sized adapter lower part. The dimensions of the lower adapter part in the area of its accommodation of the upper adapter part are therefore expediently matched to the smallest size of the upper adapter part. The adapter upper part of a device carrier can be connected to another adapter upper part which is not assigned to this device carrier and which serves to accommodate at least one installation device. It is therefore intended not only to provide a connection between an adapter upper part and an adapter lower part to form a device carrier, but also to provide a connection between two, possibly also a plurality of adapter upper parts directly with one another, so that the mounting surface for the installation device or devices can be increased as desired. The device carrier designed in this way can be used universally, is suitable for a modular construction and enables extensive pre-assembly of the electrical installation device (s).

The power supply to the respective installation device can take place in different ways. When using the bone rack in connection with a busbar system, the power connection to the respective installation device is preferably carried out via an electrical cable, which on the one hand is directly conductively connected to the installation device, on the other hand via contact springs or the like to the assigned busbar, the contact springs being mounted in the lower part of the adapter and are supported on the assigned busbar. The respective electrical cable can be led laterally out of the device carrier. In principle, and this applies in particular when there is no busbar system, the respective installation device can be supplied with power externally by means of the required electrical lines.

The goal of getting by with as few different components of the equipment carrier as possible for its most diverse purposes, with the result of lower molding costs for the plastic components, lower storage costs, etc., is achieved in that the adapter upper parts of different sizes are designed identically in the connection area to the lower adapter part. A further development of the device carrier provides that the connection of the upper part of the adapter and the lower part of the adapter is made by plugging together the upper part of the adapter and the lower part of the adapter and their subsequent relative movement in the parting plane between the upper part of the adapter and the lower part of the adapter, the upper part of the adapter having retaining lugs which move the parts relatively Reach behind the retaining bars on the lower part of the adapter. Of course, there would also be the possibility of providing the retaining lugs on the lower adapter part and the retaining webs on the upper adapter part. The locking of the adapter upper part and the lower part of the adapter is expediently carried out by means of at least one locking tongue which engages behind a locking ridge of the adapter lower part in the locking position.

Since the adapter upper part primarily fulfills the task of serving as storage for or the installation devices, it is provided according to a preferred embodiment that it is plate-shaped. Due to the fairly simple design of this component, it can be produced at low cost and requires only a relatively small amount of storage space.

The lower adapter part can be plate-shaped and have recesses for hanging the lower adapter part in fastening means connected to the wall. This measure enables the adapter lower part to be easily wall-mounted.

The lower part of the adapter is advantageously box-shaped and has hook attachments on its side facing away from the upper part of the adapter for engaging behind the busbars. The box-shaped design of the lower part of the adapter is considered to be expedient in this context because then in the lower part of the adapter at least the means for fixing the device carrier in the plane of the busbars perpendicular to their longitudinal extension and the electrical contacts for the busbars, which are connected via electrical lines to the or the installation devices are connected, can be arranged. Especially when the device carrier is used in connection with a busbar system, it is considered necessary to provide an overlap protection, at least in the area of the respective end face of the device carrier, specifically the adapter lower part, which makes it impossible to touch the busbars from this side.

It is advantageous if the additional upper adapter part is connected to another lower adapter part, as a consequence of which two device carriers arranged next to one another are fastened to one another by means of the two adjacent adapter upper parts of the device carriers. However, it is also conceivable to arrange two device carriers at a distance from one another and by means of an adapter upper part arranged between the upper adapter parts of these device carriers, to which no lower adapter part is assigned, a bridge between the two To form equipment carriers. Of course, several adapter upper parts can also form the bridge between the device carriers. The latter variant is particularly useful when the device carriers are used in connection with an electrical busbar system.

The adapter upper parts are advantageously fastened to one another in the mutually facing regions of the adapter upper parts by means of connecting elements. The respective connecting element for connecting the adjacent adapter upper parts can advantageously be latched into them in the manner of a clip connection. The adapter upper parts should have sufficiently large, interacting contact surfaces in the areas in which they are connected to one another, so that a rigid unit of the adapter upper parts is ensured after the connecting elements have been attached.

A specific design of the connection provides in this context that the respective perforated web of the adapter upper part and the further adapter upper part to be connected to it is provided on the side facing the respective other adapter upper part with at least one undercut in the longitudinal direction of the perforated web, the approaches of the connecting adapter upper parts with respect to their dividing line are arranged in mirror image to each other and the connecting element facing the two approaches is provided with two webs which can be inserted into the undercut areas. With this design, there is the possibility of first pushing the respective connecting element into one adapter upper part and locking it with this and then pushing the other adapter upper part onto the connecting element until it clicks into place.

With regard to the device carrier for electrical installation devices, which is used in connection with an electrical busbar system, reference is made to the illustration of FIGS. 1 and 2 and, in part, to that of FIG. It is illustrated there that the device carrier 1, which, apart from the components required for the power line, is made of plastic, has a box-shaped adapter lower part 2 and an essentially plate-shaped adapter upper part 3. The lower part of the adapter 2 is provided on its underside with three contact feet 4, only one of which is visible, which engage behind three busbars 5, 6 and 7, which are spaced apart and parallel to one another, in a known manner. The elongated lower part 2 of the adapter is oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the busbars. The upper adapter part 3 can be connected or connected to the lower adapter part 2. It has in the longitudinal direction two parallel webs 10 and 11 with rows of holes 12 and 13 running parallel to the longitudinal edges 8 and 9 of the adapter upper part 3. A mounting rail 14, which is approximately as long as the adapter upper part 3 is wide, has in the area of it Center bar 15 four bores 16, two bores 16 being assigned to the row of holes 12 and 13, respectively, so that the mounting rail 14 can be fastened via four screws in the corresponding holes in the rows of holes 12 and 13 at any point on the upper adapter part 3. The screws cut into the respective holes in the rows of holes 12 and 13. The mounting rail 14 is used to fasten one or more electrical installation devices, not shown, for example a starter combination for an electric motor, a circuit breaker or a fault circuit breaker. A plurality of mounting rails 14 can also be connected to the adapter upper part 3.

As can be seen in particular from the illustration in FIG. 1, the box-shaped adapter lower part 2 has two separating webs 17 and 18 which subdivide the adapter lower part 2 into three longitudinal chambers 19, 20 and 21. In each longitudinal chamber, a U-shaped contact spring 25 is held in the region of the profiled sections 26 thereof in the guides 24 cast in with the separating webs 17 or 18 or the longitudinal walls 22 and 23 of the adapter lower part 2. The non-profiled, other leg 27 of the respective contact spring 25 rests on the associated busbar when the device carrier 1 is plugged onto the busbars 5, 6 and 7. So that the device carrier 1 can be used for a wide variety of busbar thicknesses, spacer feet 28 are provided which can be slid onto the contact feet 4 and, in the case of thinner busbars, compensate for the distance of the contact foot 4 designed for the thickest possible busbar. On the free end of the profiled section 26 of the respective contact spring 25, a plug connection, not shown, can be plugged, which is connected to an electrical line that leads to the electrical installation device. These electrical components are not shown.

As described, the lower adapter part 2 is pushed perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the busbars 5, 6 and 7 in their plane with the respective contact foot 4 or the contact foot 4 provided with the spacer 28 on the associated busbar 5, 6 or 7. In order to lock the lower adapter part 2 in this displacement direction, an actuatable latching element 29 is provided which can be brought into operative connection with the central busbar 6. The latching element is mounted in an actuating lever 30, which in turn is held in the area of the busbar 7 in the separating web 17 and the side wall 22 adjacent to it. The latching element 29 is stepped on the side facing the busbar 6, so that it engages behind, regardless of the predetermined width of the busbar 6, on the side facing away from the contact foot 4 assigned to the busbar 6. A cover plate 21 mounted in the separating web 17 and the adjacent side wall 22 covers the actuating lever 30 and is in the region of its end facing the latching element 29 provided with a guide pin 32 which passes through a recess 33 in the locking element 29 and thus guides it. The actuating lever 30 can be actuated in the region of its end 34 facing away from the latching element 29, for this purpose the one end plate 35 of the box-shaped adapter lower part 2 is provided with a recess 36 and a corresponding location of the adapter upper part 3 with a recess 37 through which an object for depressing the End 34 of the actuating lever 30 can be inserted so that the locking element 29 comes out of contact with the busbar 6. Not shown in FIG. 1 is a compression spring which acts between the cover plate 31 and the actuating lever 30 and surrounds the guide pin 32 and prestresses the latching element 29 on the busbar 6.

The electrical installation device is expediently preassembled on the upper adapter part 3, i.e. the mounting rail 14 is connected to the adapter upper part 3 at the desired location and then the installation device is attached to the mounting rail 14. Independently of this, the adapter lower part 2 is assembled, i.e. optionally provided with the spacer feet 28, the required contact springs 25 inserted into the adapter lower part 2, the actuating lever 30 mounted with spring and locking element 29 and the adapter lower part 2 provided with the cover plate 31. Corresponding to the power connection of the installation device, the lines are connected to the free ends of the contact springs 25 and, after the adapter lower part 2 and adapter upper part 3 have been plugged together, connected to the installation device.

In order to be able to connect the lower adapter part 2 and the upper adapter part 3 to one another, the lower adapter part in the region of the free ends of the separating webs 17 and 18 and the side walls 22 and 23 has a plurality of holding webs 38 running in the longitudinal direction of the lower adapter part 2, and at the corresponding points the adapter upper part 3 on its side facing the adapter lower part 2, retaining lugs 39, of which only three are directly visible in the illustration in FIG. 1, while the position of the invisible retaining lugs 39 in the view of the upper side of the adapter upper part 3 is different from the position of the mold recesses 40 results in the formation of the retaining lugs 39. The connection between the upper adapter part 3 and the lower adapter part 2 thus takes place by the adapter upper part 3 being pushed onto the lower adapter part 2 and then, by means of a relative movement of the lower adapter part 2 and the upper adapter part 3 in their parting plane, transferring the retaining lugs 39 into the position engaging behind the retaining webs 38 will. As can be seen in particular from the illustration in FIG. 1, the adapter upper part 3 moves in the direction of one end plate 35 of the adapter lower part 2, so that the retaining lugs 39 also arranged in the region of the leading narrow side of the adapter part 3 into corresponding retaining webs assigned to the end plate 35 38 engage the lower adapter part 2.

In order to prevent accidental contact with the live busbars, a plate-shaped overlap protection 41 is provided in the area of each of the two end faces of the device carrier 1. Each overlap protection 41 can be plugged into the area of its upper end by means of two sockets 42 on corresponding web attachments 43 of the adapter upper part 3 and in its central area by means of a spring attachment 44 onto a pin attachment 45 of the adapter lower part 2. The area of the respective overlap protection 41 facing away from the sockets 42 extends beyond the adapter lower part 2, so that it makes the busbars inaccessible from the outside in its end area. Figure 1 illustrates that an overlap protection 41 can be provided with recesses 46 through which electrical leads can be guided from the contact springs 25 to the station device.

The locking of the lower adapter part 2 and the upper adapter part 3 takes place in their pushed-together position by means of a locking tongue 47 which resiliently protrudes from the plane of the plate-shaped upper adapter part 3 in the direction of the lower adapter part 2 and in the pushed-together position of the lower adapter part 2 and the upper adapter part 3, the separators 17 and 18 connecting crossbar 48 engages behind.

Finally, a locking tongue 49 is also integrated into each of the sockets 42 and engages in a recess 50 of the web attachment 43 in question when the overlap protection 41 is attached. Through a hole 51 penetrating the respective socket 42, which is provided on the side of the socket 42 facing away from the adapter upper part 3, the locking of the associated locking tongue 49 can be achieved by lifting the locking tongue 49 off the web shoulder 43 by means of an auxiliary tool. The same applies to the locking tongue 49, which can also be moved back into the non-locking position by means of an auxiliary tool.

Figure 2 shows the assembled equipment carrier including the two components to ensure overlap protection, with spacer feet 28 attached to the contact rails 4. The figure also shows that the adapter upper part 3 in the area of each web 10 or 11 adjacent to the respective web extension 43 an undercut in the longitudinal direction of the web 10 or 11 is provided with an L-shaped profile. The lugs 52 of the respective web 10 and 11 serve for the firm connection of adapter upper parts 3, as can be seen in particular from the illustration in FIGS. 4 and 5. FIG. 4 shows two adapter upper parts 3 and 3 'which are already connected to one another and which are connected in the region of the four mutually facing projections 52 of the two adapter upper parts 3 and 3' by means of two connecting elements 53. Each connecting element 53 has two, arranged parallel to each other Latches 54 on. The respective connecting element 53 is connected to the assigned adapter upper part 3 or 3 ', in that it connects the web 11 of the adapter upper part 3 or 3' with the guide web 55 assigned to the respective locking tongue 54 and the guide surface of the L-shaped extension 52 running parallel thereto and a plate-side guide bar 56, spaced apart from the web 11 or 10, is inserted until, in the fully inserted position, the free end of the locking tongue 54, which has a latching lug 57, engages behind the associated end of the extension 52. Due to the design of the locking tongue 54 in the manner of a spring, this can be unlocked again by pushing away from the connecting element 52 by means of an auxiliary tool. In the manner described, both connecting elements 53 are connected to the web 11 of the adapter upper part 3 or 3 'in the manner of a clip connection. The connection to the adjacent adapter upper part 3 'or 3'', as shown in FIG. 5, is made by plugging the adapter upper part 3' or 3 '' onto the locking tabs 54 of the two connecting elements 53 already connected to the adapter upper part 3 or 3 '. The directions of movement for connecting the adapter upper parts are illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 5 with arrows.

Figures 4 and 5 illustrate that the connecting elements 53 can be used to connect any number of adapter upper parts to form a rigid unit, the adapter upper parts abutting one another in the region of the longitudinal sides of their plates and the connecting elements completely filling the space between the webs 11 and 12 of adjacent adapter parts.

Figures 3 and 6 illustrate that there is in principle the possibility of assigning adapter upper parts, in this case the adapter upper parts 3 'and 3' ', no adapter lower part, but only the outer adapter upper parts 3 and 3 "'. The adapter upper parts 3 'and 3' 'thus form a bridge between the outer adapter upper parts 3 and 3 '' 'with the associated adapter lower parts 2. In this case, the power supply takes place exclusively via the adapter lower parts 2 to the installation devices arranged on the adapter upper parts 3, 3', 3 "and 3 '' '.

The illustration in FIG. 5 shows in particular that the arrangement of the holding lugs 39 and the mold recesses 40 for the holding lugs 39 in the respective adapter upper part 3 and 3 'is independent of the width or the distance of the webs 10 and 11 of the respective adapter upper part 3 or 3 'is. This means that always identical lower adapter parts 2 are used to form the device carrier 1, regardless of the width of the plate of the respective upper adapter part.

The adapter lower part 2 is used for attachment to a holder, not shown, which is designed as a wall of a control cabinet. For this purpose, the lower adapter part 2 is designed as a flat plate which is provided in the plug-on direction B of the lower adapter part 2 on the upper adapter part 3 with recesses 58 which contain the function of the holding webs 38 according to the previously described embodiment and with which the retaining lugs 39 of the upper adapter part 3 cooperate. Since the retaining lugs 39 protrude beyond the plate level of the adapter lower part 2, this is provided on this side with spacer rings 59, the strength of which corresponds at least to that of the retaining lugs 59. Two of the spacer rings 59 have an elongated hole 60 directed in the push-on direction B. The adapter lower part 2 can be fastened in a simple manner to the holder by inserting two fastening screws through the keyhole-shaped elongated holes 60 and positioning them in the region of the end of the keyhole that is remote from the circular section. FIG. 8 shows a view of the surface of the adapter lower part 2 facing the adapter upper part 3. Also in the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8, as described for the embodiment according to FIG. 6, several adapter upper parts can be connected to one another, adapter lower parts only need in the area of the two outer ones Adapter shells to be provided.
