Claims (10)
- Process for the production of hollow profiles by the extrusion of an aluminium alloy containing more than 10 % by weight Si, characterised in that an extrusion billet consisting of an aluminium alloy belonging to one of the types AlSi12, AlSi18, AlSi16, AlCuMgSi15-19, AlMgCuSi15-19 or AlFeMgCuSi15-19 is brought to a temperature of 300 to 500°C and is worked by extrusion at a pressure of 30.3975 to 354.6375 bar into hollow profiles containing at least one cylindrical working surface in the form of a section tube, the profile speed being 0.5 to 12 m/min.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the aluminium alloy contains 12 to 22 % by weight silicon and, in particular, 16 to 18 % by weight silicon.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the aluminium alloy contains silicon particles having dimensions of less than 200 µm.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the temperature of the extrusion billet is 380 to 480°C.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the pressure is 81.06 to 283.71 bar.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the profile speed is 1 to 7 m/min and, in particular, 1.5 to 5 m/min.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the hollow profiles are produced by direct extrusion.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the hollow profile contains at least two chambers in the form of section tubes arranged in a row and connected together.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the cross-sectional surface area per cylindrical working surface is at least 15 cm2.
- Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the hollow profile has two to six cylindrical working surfaces in its cross-sectional surface area, and the cross-sectional surface area of the material of the hollow profile is 30 cm2 to 240 cm2.
