Description

The invention relates to a connection module according to the preamble of claim 1.

Ein Anschlußmodul der gattungsgemäßen Art ist bereits bekannt (Prospekt der Firma Quante Aktiengesellschaft, Uellendahler Str. 353, D-42109 Wuppertal 1:
"Connection Moduls MX").
A connection module of the generic type is already known (brochure from Quante Aktiengesellschaft, Uellendahler Str. 353, D-42109 Wuppertal 1:
"MX Connection Module"). With the known connection module, the connection of incoming wires and of outgoing wires is only possible with a narrowly limited wire diameter bandwidth possible. It is particularly disadvantageous that, owing to the construction of the contacts arranged in the module, no larger bandwidth of wire diameters can be connected in succession. The connection of outdoor cables (Dropwire) with larger wire diameters is not possible or the connection of smaller wire diameters after the previous multiple connection of larger wire diameters is not guaranteed due to the inflexible contact design.

A multiple contact for connecting two incoming and two outgoing wires is known from DE 31 37 429 C2. The contacts are insulation displacement connection contacts and consist of leaf-shaped, springy contact material, the leaf surface of which is arranged obliquely to the conductor connection direction and parallel to the respective neighboring element. The connection contacts are provided in the lower area with cross-sectionally U-shaped connection points. Extensions are also formed below the connection contacts.

It is a disadvantage of these known multiple contacts that only a narrow range of wire diameters can be connected to a contact design. It is not possible to connect a smaller wire diameter after the repeated connection of a larger wire diameter, since the contact geometry does not guarantee the necessary flexibility of the contacts.

The invention is therefore based on the object of developing a connection module of the generic type to which optional cable cores with different wire diameters can be connected over a wide range.

The solution to this problem results from the characterizing features of claim 1.

The connection module makes it possible to connect plastic-insulated wires and outdoor cables with the help of an insulation displacement contact arrangement without the use of special tools and to separate and test them separately by releasing a locking device. The contacts on the base plate allow, for example, surge arresters to be attached. The contact chambers are protected against corrosive atmosphere and moisture. The connection module can easily be snapped onto standard rails. When several connection modules are assembled as a block next to one another, individual connection modules can simply be removed from the mounting rail and also be reinserted without the function of the adjacent connection modules being impaired. The contact arrangements ensure the possibility of connecting a wide range of wire diameters.

With this contact design, both wires with a small diameter and outdoor cables (Dropwire) with larger wire diameters can be used be contacted. Large wire diameters and then smaller wire diameters can be connected several times in succession.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the subclaims.

According to FIG. 1, the connection module 1 consists of a pressure piece 2 with a plastic screw 3, an intermediate piece 4 and a base plate 5. The base plate 5 and the intermediate piece 4 are detachably connected to one another by a latching device 13. The pressure piece 2 with the plastic screw 3 is integrated in the intermediate piece 4. After assembly, the pressure piece 2 and the intermediate piece 4 are connected to one another almost inextricably and can only be displaced relative to one another in a narrowly limited area. The base plate 5 is provided with a latching device 14 (FIG. 2), by means of which the connection module 1 is snapped onto a commercially available profile rail, not shown.

As FIG. 2 shows, the outgoing wires (not shown) are introduced into the pressure piece 2 via the openings 9 in two separate contact chambers 11, 12. With the help of the plastic screw 3 and the pressure piece 2, the outgoing wires are moved straight down into the intermediate piece 4. The contact elements 6, 7 of the double contact 20 (FIG. 3, 4) fixedly arranged in the intermediate piece 4 penetrate the insulation of the outgoing wires and contact the respective wires in a gas-tight manner.

The contact elements 6, 7 are designed in one piece as a double contact 20, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. The contact element 6 is a closed fork contact, which is located at 90 ° to the wire axis 22 of the outgoing wires. The contact element 7 is made of a set at an angle of 30 ° Insulation displacement contact formed. At the connection point between the two contact elements 6, 7, a tap 18 with a bent-out latching tab 15 is arranged.

The contacts 8 as shown in FIG. 5 are arranged in the base plate 5 for the incoming wires. The incoming wires are brought to contacts 8 via openings 10 (FIG. 1). The contacts 8 are designed as insulation displacement contacts 19. A specially shaped extension 17 on the intermediate piece 4 (FIG. 2) serves as the connecting tool. The contacts 8 in the base plate 5 reach in a fork-like manner around the tap 18 of the double contact 20 in the intermediate piece 4 (FIG. 3), so that an electrical connection is created.

Due to the special design of the contact elements 6, 7 according to FIGS. 3 and 4 as a double contact 20, both wires with a wire diameter of 0.4 mm to 0.8 mm and Dropwire with a wire diameter of 0.7 mm to 1.3 can be used mm can be contacted gastight. Dropwire up to a maximum of 1.3 mm wire diameter can be connected several times and then, after replacing these wires, thinner wires up to a minimum of 0.4 mm wire diameter can be connected. The wires with the larger wire diameter are connected by the fork contact of the contact element 6, the wires with the smaller wire diameter are passed through the fork contact of the contact element 6 and connected to the insulation displacement contact of the contact element 7. The fork contact works in this case as a clamping rib and additionally secures the position of the wire.

The intermediate piece 4 can be unlocked from the base plate 5 (FIG. 1, 2) in such a way that the parts with the respective contacts 20 and 8 are separated from one another and thus a separation of the electrical contacts 8 of the incoming wires from the contact elements 6, 7 outgoing veins can be performed. When disconnected, both sides of the connection can be checked independently.

A separate functional element, for example a surge arrester for securing the connection module 1 against overvoltages, can be plugged onto the contacts 8 in the base plate 5 in the chamber 16 (FIG. 2).

The connection module 1 can be snapped onto standard rails by means of the locking device 14. When installing several connection modules 1 as a block next to each other, individual connection modules 1 can be removed from the mounting rail with a screwdriver or the like and reinserted without the function of the adjacent connection modules 1.

The pressure piece 2 is made of transparent plastic for optical control of a perfect contact.

The contact chambers 11, 12 in the pressure piece 2 and the contact chamber in the base plate 5 are filled with grease for additional protection against corrosive atmosphere and moisture.

The double contact 20 is preferably made of silver-plated special brass.
