Abstract

A doctor blade holding apparatus, preferably for coating devices, includes a clamping mechanism which holds, via a mounting plate, a doctor blade support which carries a doctor rod. The apparatus includes a pressing tube which presses against the doctor blade support and thus presses the doctor rod against a counter roll. A holding strip provided at a back side of the doctor blade support clamps the mounting plate to the doctor blade support. The holding strip is disposed laterally with respect to a mid-plane of the doctor blade support to provide a contact region between a back side of the doctor blade support and the pressing tube which is in substantially the same plane as the mounting plate.

Description

The invention relates to a doctor system according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a system is known from GB-A-2.042.937. There is a requirement to replace a doctor bed including roller doctor bar without major modifications by a doctor blade, which is generally designed as a leaf spring. The doctor blade support blade is generally also a leaf spring. In the known device, it is very difficult to replace the doctor bed by the doctor blade. In the doctor system known from DE-A-2.008.082, however, it is possible under certain circumstances because the doctor bed is vulcanized onto the retaining blade and the press hose acts on the doctor bed and thus the doctor rod via the vulcanized-on part of the retaining blade. Today, however, it is common to use doctor beds that have formed a retaining strip by means of which it is attached to the retaining blade. This makes it easier to replace the doctor beds without having to throw away the holding blade. With these arrangements, it is almost impossible to replace a doctor bed including a doctor bar and holding blade with a doctor blade without major modifications. The holding blade and the doctor blade should be fixed in the same clamping.

The object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Due to the free area (pressure area) of the back of the doctor bed, only a slight swiveling movement of the doctor system is practically necessary in order to be able to press the same through the press hose without any modification work, even in the case of the doctor blade to be used.

The invention is explained below with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the figures, each of which shows the arrangement in a side view (only the press hose is cut).

In Figure 1, the doctor bed 1 is arranged in a lower quadrant of the counter roll W with the doctor rod 2 carried by it. Squeegee bed and squeegee rod are pressed against the counter roller via pressure piece 5 and press hose 3. The pressure piece is guided in a guide 9 essentially horizontally. The press hose is held in an extension 6 of the pressure piece 5. The doctor bed 1 is clamped to the leaf spring-like holding blade 7 by its terminal strip 4, which is designed as an extension. This extension is located at a distance from the back of the doctor bed opposite the doctor rod 2, on which the press hose 3 engages. In the extension of the back of the doctor bed is the holding blade 7, so that both parts are essentially in one plane. The holding blade 7 is clamped in the holder 8 by means of a slide 8 '. If the doctor bed 1 is replaced by a doctor blade 10, this runs exactly in the plane of the holding blade 7, as indicated by the dash-dotted line. A slight swiveling of the squeegee system is sufficient to bring the coating blade against the counter-roller W. The offset of the pressure line of the pressure hose 3 on the doctor bed in relation to the central plane of the pressure piece 5 also provides a suitable pressure line for the doctor blade, whereby no major disadvantages arise due to the offset of the pressure line of the pressure hose on the doctor rod 2. Here, the holding strip 4 is offset in the direction of the clamping 8, 8 'with respect to the doctor bed or attached to this.

In Figure 2, the clamping bar 4 'of the doctor bed is offset in the opposite direction and is located in the end region of an inclined surface 14 on the front of the doctor bed. The inclination of this surface - or its chord, if it is curved - with respect to the connecting plane between the center line of the doctor rod 2 and the press tube 3 is between 45 and 55 °. The other parts match and have the same reference numerals, possibly with a comma. In the case of Doctor blade 10, which is inserted into the clamping 8, 8 ', it extends to the "height" h.

In both cases, the doctor blade system is preferably arranged in an angular range between 20 and 60 ° - measured from the base point of the roller W - in its lower quadrant of its cross section. As you can see, the doctor bed has enough space between the pressure piece and its clamping and the roller W. In the case of the doctor blade, there is of course no need to fear a spatial narrowness - because of the narrowness of the doctor blade.
