Abstract

The invention relates to a stackable insertable box having an inwards inclined wall and a cover fitting thereto, characterised in that both the cover (3) and the box (1) comprise rim portions (4) and (5) respectively extending respectively with respect to the cover (3) and the box (1) in a manner such as to coincide with or such as to be parallel to the generatrix of a cylinder, respectively of a parallelepiped.

Description

The present invention relates to a stackable insertable box having an inwards inclined wall and a cover fitting thereto.
Boxes of the intended type are known in many embodiments and are usually made of a readily deformable plastic material so that the cover can be snapped easily onto the box and can be removed therefrom also easily by deforming the cover slightly locally.
The protection of such boxes against fraudulent opening involves problems which could not always be solved in the most efficient way. This is so for the problems arising during the production as well as for the problems in the selling and consumer phase.
An object of the invention is therefore to provide a stackable and insertable box which allows the box, whose walls show a slightly inwards inclined wall in view of the required possibility to insert these boxes into one another, with a cover which may be provided with an adhesive tape mutually connecting the box and cover so that, if necessary, a fraudulent access into the interior of the box may be established.
In order to enable this in an original and technically reliable way, both the cover and the box comprise rim portions extending respectively with respect to the cover and the box in a manner such as to coincide with or such as to be parallel to the generatrix of a cylinder, respectively a parallelepiped.
Still according to the invention, said wall of the box comprises an extended portion permitting said cover to be snapped thereon, said cover showing to this end a reversed V profile.
Other details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of a stackable and insertable box according to the invention. This description is only given by way of example and does not limit the invention. The reference numerals relate to the figures annexed hereto.
Figure 1 shows according to a cross-section and on an enlarged scale the connection between cover and box.
Figure 2 shows partially and on another scale the walls of two stacked pots.
Figure 3 shows on the same scale as figure 2 and also partially the edge of two stacked covers.
In figure 2, the inclined wall of the conical box is indicated with reference 1. Onto this box, more particularly onto the extended portion 2 thereof which is situated in the use position at the top, a cover 3 may be snapped.
This extended portion 2 of the wall 1 comprises means for enabling the cover 3 to be snapped onto the extended portion 2 of the box. These means may consist of a circular bulge 9 cooperating with an inner circular groove 9' provided in the cover.
In order to achieve a box whose content is to be safeguarded against violation, there has been found now an original solution permitting the cover and the box to be connected through a circularly applied adhesive tape.
Both the cover 3 and the box 1 comprise thereto rim portions 4 and 5 respectively extending respectively with respect to the cover 3 and the box 1 in a manner such as to coincide with or such as to be parallel to the generatrix of a cylinder, respectively of a parallelipiped.
In case of a circular box this results in a cylindrical surface near the cover and the adjoining upper portion of the box onto which an adhesive tape 6 can be applied. The adhesive tape 6 forms a clear protection against fraudulent opening of the box.
Applying such an adhesive tape is only possible by the provision of the hereinabove discussed cylindrical surface. The rim portions 4 and 5 are located nicely one above the other and are separated from each other only through a small spacing 7.
This spacing has to be sufficiently large to enable the adhesive tape 6 to be cut into two by means of a knife or the like. On the other hand, this spacing 6 may not be too wide since this might result otherwise in a local deformation or irregularity of the adhesive tape 6 at the location of this spacing 7.
When the pot in question is circular, the surface produced by the combination of the rim portions 4 and 5 results in a purely cylindrical surface.
According to the same principle, an adhesive tape could be applied onto similar rim portions of a square or rectangular box. This would be effected then strictly within the spirit of the invention claimed herein.
In order to maintain the boxes stackable onto each other and insertable into each other, a number of radials fins 8 may be provided between the wall of the box 1 and the rim portion 5. The extreme upper edge of a lower box forms then a support for the box stacked thereupon. In principle, three fins are sufficient but it is clear that several fins, for example six, provide an ideal solution.
Figure 3 shows how the covers 3 can be stacked onto each other and can be inserted into one another because of the fact that each rim portion 4 of the cover of a box forms at the top a support for the fins 8 belonging to a box stacked onto this box.
Of course, the invention is not restricted to the hereinabove described embodiment and many modifications could be applied thereto in as far as they fall within the scope of the appended claims.

Claims

A stackable insertable box having an inwards inclined wall and a cover fitting thereto, characterised in that both the cover (3) and the box (1) comprise rim portions (4) and (5) respectively extending respectively with respect to the cover (3) and the box (1) in a manner such as to coincide with or such as to be parallel to the generatrix of a cylinder, respectively of a parallelepiped.
A stackable box according to claim 1, characterised in that said wall (1) of the box comprises an extended portion (2) permitting said cover to be snapped thereon, said cover showing to this end a reversed V profile.
A stackable box according to either one of the claims 1 and 2, characterised in that both said rim portion (4) of the cover (3) and said rim portion (5) of the box (1) extend on a distance to the outside both from the cover (3) itself and with respect to said wall (1) of the box.
A stackable box according to any one of the claims 1-3, characterised in that a spacing (7) is provided between said rim portions (4) of the cover (3) and the rim portions (5) of the box (1) to enable an adhesive tape (6) applied onto these rim postions (4) and (5) to be cut in two.
A stackable box according to any one of the claims 1-4, characterised in that radial fins (8) are provided between said wall (1) of the box and the rim portion (5) thereof.
A stackable box according to claim 5, characterised in that said fins (8) are provided in a number of at least three but preferably in a number of six.
