Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing slabs by transverse and longitudinal parts of a cast strand.
- Flame cutting is used to split slabs in continuous casting plants. Of all the cutting methods, flame cutting is the cheapest in terms of investment and operating costs, and it also brings relatively low environmental impact. However, conventional oxy-fuel cutting has its limits and disadvantages, which are particularly evident when the slabs are split in continuous casting plants. Depending on the strand thickness, the maximum cutting speeds are between 300 mm / min and 600 mm / min. The lower cutting speed compared to the casting speed means that the flame cutting machine has a long travel distance when slabs are cut crosswise.
- the object of the invention is to create a method for producing slabs which can be used in practice, which is more economical and with which the outlay on equipment is reduced.
- the invention is based on the idea of carrying out the transverse cutting and the longitudinal cutting within the same cutting section using a single cutting device, preferably a high-pressure liquid oxygen jet, and thus saving separate cutting devices.
- a single cutting device preferably a high-pressure liquid oxygen jet
- plasma flames, laser beams or any cutting device can be used, the cutting speed of which roughly corresponds to the continuous casting speed.
- the casting strand is preferably first wholly or partially cut essentially perpendicular to its conveying direction (transverse parts). If an additional high-pressure liquid jet is used for cross-cutting, the cutting distance between the roller conveyor can be shortened, the effort for the cutting device being increased only insignificantly, since the additional high-pressure liquid jet cutting torch can be arranged on the same guide machine.
- the casting strand is then slit lengthways with the high-pressure liquid jet used for cross-cutting.
- Longitudinal cutting is understood to mean a single cut in the conveying direction of the casting strand up to the cut or partial cut in the case of cross-cutting. If strips are to be cut, i.e. it is carried out parallel to each other and usually at the same time longitudinal cuts, then it goes without saying that several high-pressure liquid jet cutting torches are arranged side by side.
- the invention which takes advantage of the high cutting speed that is achieved when using liquid oxygen under high pressure as a cutting jet, it becomes possible for the first time to make do with just one liquid jet cutting torch for longitudinal and cross cutting, because the cutting speed above the casting speed (conveying speed) of the casting strand allows the casting strand to be divided lengthways with the liquid jet cutting torch moving counter to the conveying direction of the casting strand.
- the liquid jet cutting torch can be moved back to its starting position after all or part of the cross section of the casting strand, so that the shortest roller length, which must be designed as a cutting area, is determined only by the conveying path of the casting strand during the transverse dividing and positioning of the liquid jet cutting torch in the slitting position .
- the liquid jet cutting torch is advantageously assigned a preheating torch which can be pivoted through 90 ° or two preheating torches which are offset by this angle, by means of which the gate is heated to ignition temperature so that the exothermic reaction necessary for the cutting process is achieved.
- FIG. 2 shows schematically a clamping device, which is designated 20 and by means of which the flame cutting device 17 are clamped to the casting strand 10 can, so that it moves synchronously with the conveying speed of the casting strand 10 on the rails 18. Since such clamping devices, which can also consist of attachment units, are known, a detailed description is unnecessary. Cross-cutting and slitting with a single high-pressure liquid cutting torch is described below with reference to FIGS. 3a to d and proceeds as follows:
- the flame cutting machine 17 is synchronized with the casting strand and the cutting takes place from the workpiece edge 21.
- the preheating burner 19 is moved to the edge 21 and the flames heat the edge point to ignition temperature.
- the high-pressure liquid cutting oxygen is switched on and the movement of the high-pressure liquid burner begins.
- the transverse division in the direction of arrow 22 is carried out (Fig. 3a).
- FIG. 3b the cross-cutting of the casting strand 10 carried out at a cutting speed of 2 m / min has ended, during which the flame cutting device 17 is moved in the conveying direction 23 of the casting strand 10.
- the high-pressure liquid burner 14 is brought to the position required for slitting (FIG. 3c), decoupled from the casting strand 10 and the slitting process is initiated.
- the cutting path required for this is designated by 26 in FIG. 3d. If only one preheating burner, which is arranged in front of the high-pressure liquid burner, is used, this is pivoted through 90 ° from the transverse part direction into the longitudinal part direction, which is shown schematically in FIG. 3c. The swiveling process takes place during the positioning of the high pressure liquid burner in the slitting position.
- the high-pressure liquid burner 14 is pivoted about the center of the preheating burner so that it assumes the position shown in FIG. 3c and the preheating burner is above the cut-out edge.
- the flame cutting device 17 moves against the conveying direction of the casting strand 10 (direction 23) in direction 24 at a speed which results from the Difference between the cutting speed and the casting speed results (Fig. 3d).
- the longitudinal cut is interrupted and the next cross section is started.
- the flame cutting device is clamped onto the casting strand 10 again.
- This process is repeated cyclically throughout the entire casting sequence.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing slabs by transverse and longitudinal parts of a cast strand.
Flame cutting is used to split slabs in continuous casting plants.
This makes complex constructions of roller conveyors in this area and cutting machines with two torches per strand necessary. In order to reach the maximum cutting speed, the oxygen pressure and nozzle geometry must be selected so that the exit speed of the oxygen jet almost reaches the speed of sound. This creates a high sound level, which may make it necessary to enclose the cutting area, which affects the observability of the cutting process. Slitting slabs lengthways cannot be done in-line in practice due to the difference between cutting speed and casting speed. For this reason, several slitting lines have to be installed downstream of the continuous caster. This requires a high investment and the use of additional hall space.
Attempts have already been made to eliminate this disadvantage by first slitting the casting strand in-line and then dividing it transversely (DE 28 42 503 A1). According to JP 52-23775, laser beams and, according to DE 37 30 149 A1, high-pressure liquid jets are to be used. Here, however, at least one slitting device and one cross-cutting device are required.
On the basis of the last-mentioned prior art, the object of the invention is to create a method for producing slabs which can be used in practice, which is more economical and with which the outlay on equipment is reduced.
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.
Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 7.
The invention is based on the idea of carrying out the transverse cutting and the longitudinal cutting within the same cutting section using a single cutting device, preferably a high-pressure liquid oxygen jet, and thus saving separate cutting devices. In addition to the preferred high-pressure liquid jet, plasma flames, laser beams or any cutting device can be used, the cutting speed of which roughly corresponds to the continuous casting speed. With the high-pressure liquid jet, the casting strand is preferably first wholly or partially cut essentially perpendicular to its conveying direction (transverse parts). If an additional high-pressure liquid jet is used for cross-cutting, the cutting distance between the roller conveyor can be shortened, the effort for the cutting device being increased only insignificantly, since the additional high-pressure liquid jet cutting torch can be arranged on the same guide machine. The casting strand is then slit lengthways with the high-pressure liquid jet used for cross-cutting. Longitudinal cutting is understood to mean a single cut in the conveying direction of the casting strand up to the cut or partial cut in the case of cross-cutting. If strips are to be cut, i.e. it is carried out parallel to each other and usually at the same time longitudinal cuts, then it goes without saying that several high-pressure liquid jet cutting torches are arranged side by side.
By the invention, which takes advantage of the high cutting speed that is achieved when using liquid oxygen under high pressure as a cutting jet, it becomes possible for the first time to make do with just one liquid jet cutting torch for longitudinal and cross cutting, because the cutting speed above the casting speed (conveying speed) of the casting strand allows the casting strand to be divided lengthways with the liquid jet cutting torch moving counter to the conveying direction of the casting strand.
As a result, the liquid jet cutting torch can be moved back to its starting position after all or part of the cross section of the casting strand, so that the shortest roller length, which must be designed as a cutting area, is determined only by the conveying path of the casting strand during the transverse dividing and positioning of the liquid jet cutting torch in the slitting position .
The liquid jet cutting torch is advantageously assigned a preheating torch which can be pivoted through 90 ° or two preheating torches which are offset by this angle, by means of which the gate is heated to ignition temperature so that the exothermic reaction necessary for the cutting process is achieved.

By means of a
According to another advantageous embodiment, the high-
Since, as mentioned at the beginning, the cutting speed in the method according to the invention is higher than the casting speed (conveying speed of the casting strand), the
