Date Oct. 1, 1992.A plastic container package for bulk materials, such as liquids or pourable fine granules or the like, is surrounded on the outside by a close-fitting cardboard or paper jacket. The container has, at least in regions, an upper stopping edge for the cardboard jacket. To fit the container with a printable and easily removable streamer, the plastic container includes catch ramps in the form of stopping shoulders protruding from a transition region between a bottom face and associated side faces. In the position of use, the cardboard jacket is designed as a closed streamer which is fixed between the stopping shoulders by pushing it over the catch ramps.

Description

The invention is directed to plastic container packaging for bulk goods, such as liquids or free-flowing fine granules or the like, the plastic container holding the goods to be packaged being surrounded on the shell side by a tight-fitting cardboard or paper tape formed as a closed band and at least in some areas an upper stop shoulder for the cardboard wrapping.

A variety of packaging for bulk goods, such as liquids, are known, which consist of two components, namely an inner, the liquid-holding plastic container, for example a plastic bottle, and an outer carton packaging, which serves multiple purposes, u. a. also the application of imprints and the like.

A generic packaging of this type is shown, for example, by DE-A-39 21 258-A1 of the applicant, with the aid of which it is possible to avoid supporting elements on the plastic container itself. A two-part packaging is also shown in US-A-3 567 104, in which a large part of the plastic container itself is not stable, so that the wrapping has to take over standing functions. Stand and handle functions in such a container in a two-component packaging, US-A-3 160 326 shows the carton completely enclosing the inner container, while an old German patent DE-A-193 757 shows a vessel with a protective housing, the vessel being designed as a bottle or jug and the protective housing, for example can consist of pressed paper pulp. Both vessel wall elements should be firmly connected to each other there.

Conversely, it is also known to provide vessels with banderoles which serve for printing, the banderoles themselves being made of an expandable plastic material and being able to be placed around the object to be identified in the manner of a sleeve.

Another packaging with wrapping is known from FR-A-2 013 654. The packaging described there is a plastic hollow body, the enveloping support jacket is fixed to the plastic hollow body in that several openings are formed in the support jacket, which are in engagement with corresponding raised embossments on the plastic hollow body. This causes the disadvantage that, at least in the case of a round packaging, the support jacket and the hollow plastic body either have to be directed towards one another or have to be rotated relative to one another until the cutouts in the support jacket and the raised embossments of the hollow plastic body interlock. This requires a special effort in the manufacture of the packaging. Above all, the large number of interlocking locking elements and the Close contact of the support jacket on the hollow plastic body makes it difficult or even impossible to separate the hollow plastic body and the support jacket, since considerable effort would be required to pull the support jacket off the hollow plastic body. In another embodiment of the packaging known from the French literature reference, the support jacket is fixed in a groove-shaped groove in the hollow plastic body. Here, too, the separation of the supporting jacket and the hollow plastic body is associated with a considerable effort.

In order to be able to recycle two-component packaging, which consists of plastic on the one hand and paper or cardboard on the other hand, efforts are made to facilitate the separation of these two material components as much as possible. One way to do this is shown in the generic DE-A-39 21 258.

The object of the invention is therefore to make it easy to equip a plastic container with a jacket-side, printable and easily separable cardboard cover.

This object is achieved with a packaging according to the invention in that the plastic container below the upper stop shoulder with stop shoulders forming locking ramps and in the use position the cardboard wrapping by pushing the cardboard wrapping or folding fold areas of the cardboard wrapping is defined via the locking ramps between the stop shoulders and the upper stop shoulder.

This type of fixation of the plastic wrapper or the paper or cardboard sleeve makes it possible not to have to glue the latter to the object to be wrapped; the fixation is possible here directly through the physical design of the plastic container. After the banderole has been slipped over or the folding areas folded over the fixing ramps and applied to the upper stop shoulders, this snaps onto the outer surface of the plastic body to be equipped and is secured there without loss, it being irrelevant, particularly in the case of round plastic containers, that the banderole may be relative to the plastic body can twist the surface.

An embodiment variant provides that the locking ramps are formed by inward-pointing lower edge regions of indentations formed in the plastic container, these lower edge regions also forming stop shoulders, so that this design makes it possible to dispense with locking regions provided near the ground, if necessary.

It goes without saying that, depending on the resistance of the plastic body to be encased, the ramp slopes can be different, in any case they must be designed in such a way that the latter is not destroyed when the band is pushed on. With thermoplastic Hollow plastic bodies are also guaranteed that they spring sufficiently strong to enable a problem-free slip on the banderole.

It is particularly advantageous if the locking ramps are arranged in the transition area from the bottom surface to the side surfaces of the plastic container, as provided by the invention in an embodiment.

In a further embodiment, it is provided that the plastic container is essentially square or rectangular in cross-section deviating from the circular shape and the locking ramps are provided at a distance from the container corners on the straight surface areas.

The fact that no corresponding locking ramps are provided in the bottom area of the plastic container at the corners makes it easier to put the cardboard sleeve on.

In order to achieve a certain elasticity of the banderole, provision can also be made for the paper or cardboard banderole to be provided with embossing lines and / or creases in its partial regions in the position of use surrounding the corner regions.

In a further embodiment it is provided that the bottom region of the container is designed to be chamfered or rounded and the locking ramps are formed in this conical region, this design just the first part of threading when putting on the paper or cardboard sleeve is easier.

According to the invention it can also be provided that the locking ramps are equipped with nose-like projections or beads which lie slightly above the lower edge of the cardboard sleeve in the position of use.

Such a design can be useful for very different reasons, e.g. B. if specifically on a plastic body permitting the twisting of the banderole, for example by punching out the banderole, areas of the plastic container are to be made visible or covered by twisting. So z. B. a portion of the plastic container can be made transparent, so that you can see the content. This visible area can then be exposed through a window in the banderole or covered by twisting the banderole, which can be used, for example, to achieve advertising effects or the like.

The invention also provides that the locking ramps are formed from a plurality of teeth arranged like a comb.

In one embodiment, the invention provides that in the region of the upper stop shoulder of the container in the part of the side surface covered by the band, individual, inwardly formed indentations are formed, the inward-facing lower indentations Edge areas form the latching ramp and the stop shoulders, the band having fold-in areas corresponding to these indentations and placed on the back and extending at least into the area of the bottom surface of the container.

This embodiment makes it possible to achieve a particularly firm locking of the band with the plastic container and prevents (this may be desirable in individual cases) the displacement or rotation of the band on the outer surface of the plastic container thus equipped.

It is provided that the locking ramps and the stop shoulders are formed by the inwardly facing lower edge regions of the indentations. This design makes it possible, if necessary, to dispense with the locking areas provided near the floor. So that it is possible not only to bring the banderole very close to the bottom of the container, if necessary, it can even be guided beyond it to provide a standing edge, if this should be desired. As a rule, however, it can be assumed that the banderole ends just above the base and thus gives the plastic container an appearance that suggests that it is fully wrapped.

An overall advantage of the solution according to the invention according to its different design variants is that the banderoles are generally not pulled off the plastic container without being destroyed can, that is, there can be no accidental swapping of content due to wrong banderoles.

In order to make it easier to pull off the banderoles, in a further development of the invention it can finally be provided that part of the adhesive flap of the banderole is kept free of adhesive in the outer edge region to form a tear-off corner. This results in a handling tab for the user. If he touches this and tears in the direction of the adhesive flap on the banderole, it separates by tearing it from the hollow plastic body.

The plastic container packaging, generally designated 1, in particular according to FIGS. 1 and 2, is formed by a container made of a plastic container 2 and a cardboard wrapping 3, which is designed as a band open at the top and bottom. The adhesive tab is indicated in Fig. 1 and designated 4.

In the transition area between the side walls designated 2a and the container dome 5 with spout 6, the plastic container 2 has a circumferential stop shoulder 7, in the transition area between the floor designated 8 in FIGS. 3 and 4 and the side walls 2a, locking ramps 9 are provided which have stop shoulders 10 pointing towards the side walls 2a. The distance between the stop shoulders 7 and 10 is slightly larger than the total height of the band 3, so that it is arranged without loss after pushing between the stop shoulders 7 and 10, as can be seen in FIG. 2.

In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the locking ramps 9 are not formed on the corner regions of the plastic container 2, designated 11, in order to enable the banderole to be pushed over more easily.

In Fig. 3 it is shown that the stop shoulders, there designated 10a, can also be nose-shaped or hook-shaped in order to enable the lower free end 3a of the sleeve 3 to be clamped.

In Fig. 4, the locking ramps are comb-like in the manner of teeth, these locking ramps are designated there with 19a and the short stop shoulders with 10b.

The plastic container packaging designated there with 1 ' is characterized in that indentations 13 are provided in the plastic container 2 'in the area below the stop shoulder 7', which is also indicated in Fig. 1 for reasons of illustration. So that the band can be fixed here without loss, the band 3 'has folded tabs 14 in the upper edge region or elsewhere, here these tabs are designated 14a (FIG. 6), which are folded inwards and after driving over the indentation 13 with elasticity of the cardboard jumping inward approximately in the manner as indicated in the top left in FIG. 5.

The indentations 13 are recognizable in such a way that they form stop shoulders 10 'on their underside, so that no locking ramps with stop shoulders have to be provided on the lower floor area 8'.

As can also be seen from FIG. 5, lower left corner of the figure, the banderole 3 'can be brought close to the bottom area, which then leads in particular to a closed image of the packaging.

In Fig. 6 it is also indicated that in the area of the adhesive tab 4 a lower short piece is kept unglued, so as to form a tear-off corner, designated by 15 in Fig. 5.

Of course, the described exemplary embodiments of the invention can be modified in many ways without departing from the basic idea. Thus, the invention specified in the claims is in particular not limited to the cross-sectional shape of the plastic container 2. As shown, this can be approximately square or rectangular. It can also be round. The container can also form a different curve in cross section and the like. More.

Claims (9)

1. A plastic container pack (1,1') for pourable products, such as liquids or free-flowing fine granules or the like, the plastic container (2,2') accommodating the product to be packed being externally surrounded by a close-fitting sleeve (3,3') of paperboard or paper and at least locally comprising an upper retaining shoulder (7,7') for the paperboard jacket (3,3'), characterized in that, beneath the upper retaining shoulder (7,7'), the plastic container (2,2') is provided with detent ramps (9) forming retaining shoulders (10,10') and, in the in-use position, the paperboard jacket (3,3') is held in position between the retaining shoulders (10,10') and the upper retaining shoulder (7,7') by being pushed over the detent ramps (9) or by folding in of flaps (14,14a) of the paperboard jacket (3').
2. A plastic container pack as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the detent ramps (9) are positioned in the transitional zone between the base (8) and side walls (2a) of the plastic container (2).
3. A plastic container pack as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the plastic container (2) is non-circular, i.e. substantially square or rectangular, in cross-section and in that the detent ramps (9) are provided at a distance from the corners (11) of the container on the flat surface regions thereof.
4. A plastic container pack as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the paper sleeve (3) is provided with stamped lines and/or grooves (12) in those areas where it surrounds the corners in its in-use position.
5. A plastic container pack as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base (8) of the container (2) is tapered or rounded and the detent ramps are moulded on in this conical zone.
6. A plastic container pack as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the detent ramps (9) are provided with nose-like projections (10a) or protuberances which project slightly beyond the lower edge of the paperboard sleeve (3) in its in-use position.
7. A plastic container pack as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the detent ramps are formed from a plurality of teeth (9a) arranged in the form of a comb.
8. A plastic container pack as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that individual, inwardly formed indentations (13), of which the inwardly directed lower margins form the detent ramps and the retaining shoulders (10'), are provided in that part of the lateral surface covered by the sleeve (3') in the region of the upper retaining shoulder (7') of the container (2'), the sleeve (3') comprising flaps (14,14a) on its back surface which correspond with these indentations (13) and extending at least into the vicinity of the base (8') of the container (2').
9. A plastic container pack as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that part of the adhesive flap (4) of the sleeve (3,3') is left free of adhesive at its outer edge to form a tear-off corner (15).
