Mehrwegeventile werden, um den Installationsaufwand zu reduzieren, zu Funktionseinheiten zusammengefaßt. Eine Funktionseinheit auch Ventilbatterie genannt, besteht aus einer Anschlußplatte (gemeinsame Druckversorgung, gemeinsame Arbeitsanschlüsse und gemeinsame Rücklaufanschlüsse), einem Mehrwegeventil und einem elektrischen Steckanschluß. Die elektrischen Steckanschlüsse sind gewöhnlich in Form von Einzelsteckern ausgebildet. Die Schnittstelle zwischen Mehrwegeventil und Anschlußplatte kann genormt sein, wobei bei einer solchen Ausführung die einzelnen Schaltmagnete über Einzelstecker angeschlossen sind. Es sind auch Ausführungen bekannt, bei denen die Steuerleitungen der Elektrik in der Anschlußplatte geführt werden und über einen Steckkontakt mit den Vorsteuerventilen verbunden sind. Diese Ausführung ist jedoch sehr aufwendig, da die Magnetanschlußleitungen durch das Ventil über einen Stecker mit der Anschlußplatte verbunden werden müssen.Multi-way valves are combined into functional units in order to reduce the installation effort.
