Abstract

The invention relates to an overlapping card index (1) with blocks (16 to 20) which are guided by means of longitudinal strips (5, 6) on a panel (8) and are stitched together from preferably horizontal index cards (14, 15), which adhere together by means of connecting webs (22), which are separated from each other by a double crease (23) arranged at the long side in the centre and adhere together in the block stitching with the aid of the toothed strip of a flat slide (24, 24a), in such a manner that the teeth (25) alternatingly bear from the bottom of the gap between the teeth on a connecting web (21, 22), the flanks (26, 27) of which extend as far as the creases (28, 29) in the index cards (14, 15), while the gaps between the teeth separate adjoining index cards (14, 15), the index cards (14, 15) being extended over the transverse edges (31) of the connecting webs (21, 22) to bear on the longitudinal strips (5, 6) in order to enlarge their vertical length (L), and their extensions (34, 35) being provided with incisions (36) into the transverse edges (32, 33) of the index cards (14, 15), and the inner edge (37) of the incisions (36) being flush with the outer transverse edge of the connecting web (22) and being extended over the latter on both sides in such a manner that the width (B) of the incision (36) is greater than the distance between the flanks (26, 27) of the tooth (25) bearing on the connecting web (22). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a relay file according to the preamble of claim 1.

The relay file according to the invention has the advantage, due to its features described in the preamble of claim 1, that it can be used as an organizer. As a result of their stapling, your index sheets can be removed from the panel after the termination has expired and replaced with new index sheets. The expired card index sheets can be stored hanging or lying elsewhere or can also be destroyed. The guidance of the blocks in the longitudinal strips of the panel allows new blocks to be inserted from one side and expired blocks to be pulled out on the other side. The blocks then result in the time intervals at which the index sheets are exchanged and replaced.

The features of block stitching with a double fold fold limit the resistance of the mutual articulation of the index sheets against folding to a minimum, but ensure sufficient strength so that the index sheets cannot be lost. The stitching on toothed racks of the slider forces compliance with the u.a. due to the separation of the connecting webs, the necessary spacing of the card index sheets in the blocks and thereby permits error-free stapling and labeling.

Relay files of this kind are used by various professional groups, in particular, however, by doctors who work in their practice in short time intervals need to subdivide. An example of the use of the relay file according to the invention are dental practices which have to plan longer and shorter treatment times per patient. It is important to clearly distribute the treatment duration to a large number of patients over relatively long planning periods so that overlaps cannot occur.

Relay files of the basic structure described at the beginning are already known and have proven themselves many times (DE 28 20 271 C2). The panel serves as a writing pad when the relay file is used for scheduling. The index sheets are used for scheduling with the season file e.g. for the scheduling of dental practices with vertical columns, each of which includes planning for a day. For this, horizontal lines are provided for the time division. If one assumes that two contiguous card index sheets with two simultaneously opened pages are available for reservations, then several months of a year can possibly be accommodated on a panel for a whole year without the relay file becoming too unwieldy. The height of the columns is limited, but it has been found that a quarter-hour division can be carried out for each day with a known relay file.

The well-known relay files have been in use for many years because of the durability of their panels and the parts that interact with them. On the other hand, the modern development, such as that which takes place in dental surgeries, leads to shorter treatment times, so that the quarter-hour division is often considered to be too coarse division and the desire is expressed to provide a finer division when ordering card index sheets without adversely affecting the line height, in particular is reduced too much. Because the distance of the guide rails on the existing panel specifies the height of the index sheets, one cannot take these wishes into account up to now.

In contrast, the invention takes a different path, the basic idea of which is given in claim 1. Further features of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

According to the invention, the comparatively large width of the longitudinal strips, which is forced by stapling the card index sheets on slides, is used to increase the height of the card index sheets, i.e. to extend their long sides. It has been found that the flat top of the longitudinal strips, which is predetermined by the flat slides, is suitable as a writing pad. This makes it possible to increase the number of lines on a card index sheet without reducing the line spacing and making it more difficult to use the relay card index when the card index sheets are folded over. It has been found that in this way so many more lines can be provided on the index sheets that the previous quarter-hour division can be converted into a 10-minute division.

On the other hand, it is also achieved with the invention that the card index sheets can be folded over without problems despite their increased height. This is achieved with the shape and size of the incisions. These incisions are necessary because the vertical spacing of the slides cannot be adapted to the increased height of the card index due to the given spacing of the longitudinal strips of the panel. If, however, only the incisions were to be provided without further measures, it turns out when turning the page that the sharp tooth flanks, which are assigned to the breaks of the double fold, cut into the paper, which would make the file sheets and thus the file unusable in a short time. Thereby, that, according to the invention, the inner edge of the incisions is aligned with the transverse edge of the connecting web and, at the same time, extended beyond this on both sides, it can be prevented that the tabs on the connecting webs tear in the bottom of the tooth space.

The invention has the advantage that it enables an improved fine division in the vertical dimension of the card index sheets without changing the existing panels. In this way, existing panels can be supplied with better index files and new panels can be provided with these index files from the outset.

Preferably with the features of claim 2 provides for a further improvement. The fact that the incisions are provided with dovetail-shaped insertion slots can make it easier to turn the page and improve the stapling.

With the features of claim 3 can be achieved that the file sheets are easy to label despite their increased height in the area of the slider. Because, according to the invention, the squats are moved into the incisions, they cannot impair the flat support of the card index sheet on the slide, so that the sheet can be described perfectly.

According to another feature of the invention, which is the subject of claim 4, the planning period can be increased without the panel therefore having to be expanded or changed. According to the invention, this is done with a further block, which can have any time division and is stitched together from several sheets. This notepad is non-positively attached to the panel with the help of the longitudinal strips and a clamping strip.

It can therefore be easily removed when it is used up. The flat sheets of this notepad do not prevent the index sheets from being written on. As soon as a sheet of the notepad has been completed, for example by transferring the notes to the file sheets, it can be torn off and destroyed.

In particular, this idea of the invention is realized with the features of claim 5. The sheets of the block lie between the leading edges of the longitudinal strips and can be turned over. Only the pad of the block is used to block with the longitudinal strips.

It has also proven to be expedient to make it easier to locate the block when using the index sheets. So that one can easily find the last card index sheet that has to be raised to expose the block, it is expedient to realize the features of claim 6. This creates a bookmark, but you can move the length of the season file with index sheets depending on the utilization, i.e. can set correctly. This bookmark can also be used for yourself if you prefer to quickly find certain index pages.

The graduated file, generally designated 1, has a panel 8 (FIG. 4) with a plate 2, which serves as a writing pad and has a generally rectangular plan. On the longer side 3, 4 of the plate 2, longitudinal strips 5 and 6 are attached. Each of these longitudinal strips has a U-profile 7 with parallel legs 9 and 10. The outer sides 11 and 12 of the legs 9, 10 are flat. Thus, surface 12 can be used as a writing pad.

File sheets 14, 15 are arranged lying on the plate 2. These index sheets are stapled together in blocks. In Fig. 1, the blocks are designated 16 to 20. Block 20 is shown opened.

The card index sheets 14, 15 are stapled using connecting webs 21, 22 which are separated from one another by a double fold fold 23 arranged on the longitudinal side and in the middle. In the block stitching, the card index sheets are connected with the aid of the toothed strip of a flat slide 24 (FIG. 2). Shown is one of the teeth 25, which has a rectangular outline, in which the parallel tooth flanks 26, 27 rest against the folds 28, 29 of the double fold break. The slider 24 has squats in a paired arrangement, one of which is designated 30 and leads on the inner edge 31 of the two longitudinal strips 5, 6. A flat slide 24, 24a is assigned to each of the connecting webs 21, 22.

A tooth 25 is assigned to each flat slide 24, 24a, each of the six index sheets. The connecting webs 21, 22 are glued to the teeth, so that the tooth gap, which cannot be seen in the figures, separates adjacent file sheets 14, 15 from the following file sheets.

To increase their vertical length L, the index sheets 14, 15 are extended beyond the transverse edges 31 of their connecting webs 21, 22 to the dimension L on each transverse edge 32, 33. The resulting longitudinal strips 34, 35 lie on the flat surface 12 of the legs 10 of the longitudinal strips 5, 6.

To make this possible, incisions are made in the edges 32, 33 of the card index sheets 14, 15. One of these incisions is denoted by 36 in FIG. 2 and is shown in more detail. The inner edge 37 of the incision is aligned with the outer transverse edge of the connecting web 22, which is not visible in FIG. 2. At the same time, it is extended on both sides beyond the connecting web in such a way that the width B of the incision 36 is greater than the distance between the tooth flanks 26, 27 of the tooth 25 resting on the connecting web 22.

The incisions 36 have mutually perpendicular edges 38, 39 which merge into insertion slot edges 40, 41 arranged in a dovetail shape. This makes it easier to insert and staple the card index sheets.

In addition, the incisions 36 are broadened such that one of the cams 30 comes to lie within one incision 36, as shown in FIG. 2.

According to the representation of FIG. 3, the described relay file is expanded in its possibilities by a notepad 42. It consists of several sheets 43 which are held together by a binding margin 44. Of the The binding edge runs parallel to the transverse edge 45 of the panel or the plate 2 forming the writing pad. The notepad 42 has on its upper and lower edges 45, 46 a tab 47, 48, which protrude beyond the sheet edges 49. With these tabs, the notepad 42 is clamped under the U-leg 12 of each longitudinal bar 5, 6 and thereby held in a force-fitting manner. Its binding edge, on the other hand, is held by a clamping strip 50, which clamps the right longitudinal edge 45 of the panel 8 and the stitching 44 of the notepad 42 together. The notepad 42 is then fastened on the panel 8 under the index sheets which can be folded over to the right. The inner edge 51 of the terminal strip 50 serves as a tear-off edge for the sheets 43 of the notepad. While the tabs 47, 48 are attached to the notepad in the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 3, a notepad can also be used which has a base which projects upwards over the sheet edges and thereby forms the tabs.

This groove serves as a guide for a slide, not shown, which is blocked at each end of the bar 6 with a closure 55. The slider can be guided over the tab 47 and then serves as a bookmark for capturing the last card index if this is to be brought into the folded position according to FIG. 3.
