Abstract

A process is disclosed for operating a remote controlled central locking installation of motor vehicles by means of a transmitter able to transmit coded signals - for example, acoustic ultrasonic signals, optic IR signals and/or USW-high frequency waves - to a receiver arranged in or on the vehicle. When the central locking installation is operated for the first time, it is initialised, or it is re-initialised before it is operated again in order to cancel the previous code. The code that will be used in the future, or when the code is changed the new code that will be used in the future, is set for the first time or reset by placing the receiver, for example by means of a special control code, in a state in which it can be (re)initialised. Die Erfindung gestattet also mit einem ganz besonders geringen Aufwand zu vermeiden, daß jene Person keine ausreichende Kontrolle und Sicherheit hat, ob ihr Sender einwandfrei (re-)initialisiert wird.The object of the invention

  • 2, das Betätigen der Zentralverriegelung zur Anzeige der Bereitschaft des Empfängers, auf einen neuen Code bzw. auf eine neue Codemenge festgelegt zu werden, mitauszunutzen,
  • 3, normalerweise ohnehin bei einer Zentralverriegelung vorhandene Knöpfe zur Anzeige der erfolgten (Re-)Initialisierung des Empfängers mitauszunutzen, sowie
  • 4 und 5, zur Steuerung des Empfängers in seine Bereitschaft, (re-)initialisiert zu werden, die ohnehin in einem Fahrzeug vorhandene Zündung bzw. den ohnehin benötigten Zündschlüssel mitauszunutzen.

Claims (5)

  1. Process for operating a remote-controllable central locking installation of a vehicle by means of a transmitter, which can transmit coded signals - for example acoustically by means of ultrasound, optically by means of IR and/or by means of USW high-frequency waves - to a receiver fitted in or on the vehicle,
    - an initialization being carried out before the actuation for the first time of the central locking installation, or a reinitialization being carried out before the next actuation of the same, to cancel the previous code, that is the code which can be used in future, or in the case of a changing code the relevant code set which can be used in future, being fixed for the first time or once again, by the receiver being driven, for example by means of a special control code, into a state in which it can be (re)initialized, and
    - an indication controlled by the receiver, for example an optical indication, being directed to the (re)initializing person during the (re)initialization,
    characterized in that
    - the receiver indicates at the end of a successful (re)initialization by means of a visible and/or audible actuation of the central locking installation of the vehicle that the receiver has been (re)initialized.
  2. Process according to Patent Claim 1, characterized in that
    - the receiver indicates at the beginning of the (re)initializing by means of a visible and/or audible actuation of the central locking installation that the receiver can be (re)initialized.
  3. Process according to Patent Claim 1 or 2,
    characterized in that
    - the actuation of the central locking installation can be detected by the moving of the door opening-and-closing pushbuttons fitted in the doors.
  4. Process for operating a remote-controllable central locking installation of a vehicle by means of a transmitter, which can transmit coded signals - for example acoustically by means of ultrasound, optically by means of IR and/or by means of USW high-frequency waves - to a receiver fitted in or on the vehicle,
