Abstract

2.1 A known intake system for an internal combustion engine with compression ignition has an air intake pipe which is connected by way of intake connections to the inlet ports of the cylinder head of the internal combustion engine. The intake system can also be manufactured as a pressure die-casting, the mould having to be assembled from a plurality of mould cores. 2.2 According to the invention the intake system is assembled from an air manifold 4 and an adaptor plate 3 which are inexpensive and easy to manufacture. In addition, the adaptor plate 3 is provided with slots 13 for fixing the position of connecting elements 14 of the injection line 15a, 15b. This simplifies the overall assembly. <IMAGE>
