Abstract

A cup vessel (1), to he applied upstream of plotter (3), where roller (15) made of the material to be treated is kept resting on two rollers without having to insert any support bar within the core of the roller itself, is equipped with a first support roller (5), neutral, and with a second support roller (7), rotatingly controlled by an adequate rotator (9), with driving bars (11), parallel to the first and second rollers (5) and (7), with an input bar (17), parallel to driving bars (11), and with a rectangular floating frame (21), secured with its rotation axis (23) to the vessel (1) walls and resting with its free bar (25) on web (13) unwinding from roller (15) and coming to plotter (3); said floating frame (21), connected to at least two micro-switch sensors (27), making second roller (7), or the feeding roller, move or stop.

Description

  • The present invention deals with a device to realize an automatic interlocking system for notch plotters.
  • It is known that plotters are machines whose notch drill is equipped with a movement along one axis, the plotter axis, or X axis for example, while the movement along the other axis, or Y axis, necessary to realize a picture or a letter, is a feature of the self-adhesive plastic material, unwound by the upstream rollers, inserted into the plotter under its tracing drill.
  • Now, said self-adhesive plastic material on which the notch has to be carried out, is usually roller-wound; therefore, in order to perform a good plotter operation, it is necessary that the roller winding and unwinding be carried out without the influence of this operation, however continuous, on the material area placed under the tracing drill.
  • Usually, to unwind a roller on which the material to be treated is wound, said roller is secured to an axial pin, which, adequately controlled by electric and/or mechanical means, generates its rotation in the desired direction.
  • Purpose of the present invention is to realize a device that, placed upstream of the plotter, regulates the movement of the self-adhesive material roller to be notched depending on the tracing drill needs, without needing any clamping through-pin and control pin for said roller.
  • The related device is substantially composed of a cup vessel, to be applied upstream of the plotter, equipped with a first support roller, neutral, and with a second support roller, rotatingly controlled by an adequate rotator, on which rollers a self-adhesive material roller is rested, with driving bars, placed parallel to the first and second roller, among which is inserted and made slide the web to be sent to the plotter, with an input bar, parallel to the driving bars, removably placed in front of the plotter input, and of a rectangular floating frame, secured with the rotation axis to the vessel walls and resting with the free bar on the web coming to the plotter and unwinding from the roller; said floating frame being connected to at least two micro-switches making the second roller, or feeding roller, move or stop; according to the lifted or lowered position of the free bar on the web, said micro-switches drive the automatic run or stop of the web feeding.
  • A further property of the present invention consists of the fact that the feeding roller rotator is a direct current one, and that the control for said rotator is automatic or manual.
  • The mentioned device is furthermore equipped with means to keep the self-adhesive material roller centered and perpendicular to the plotter dragging roller; said means consisting of a couple of driving rings, placed on the feeding roller, where at least one of which can be axially moved, of a couple of strikers, aligned with said rings, adjustable, and placed on the input bars, where at least one of which can be axially moved, and of at least another couple of strikers, aligned with the previous ones, placed on the nearest bar to the plotter inlet, and where at least one of which can be axially moved.
  • The invention will now be described in detail with particular reference to the enclosed drawings, supplied as a non limiting example, of which:
    • fig. 1 is a perspective view of a plotter to which the mentioned device has been upstream applied;
    • fig. 2 is a perspective view of the device, detached by the plotter and without material roller;
    • fig. 3 is a plan view of the device;
    • fig. 4 is a section of the device, executed along the IV-IV line in fig. 3.
  • As it appears evident from the figures, the mentioned device is substantially composed of a cup vessel 1, to be applied upstream of plotter 3, equipped with a first support roller 5, neutral, and with a second support roller 7, rotatingly controlled by an adequate rotator 9.
  • Said rollers 5 and 7 are provided coated with plastic or rubber material, with a splined surface, in order to avoid slippings between them and roller 15 made of self-adhesive plastic material and placed on them.
  • Downstream of said first and second rollers 5 and 7, two driving bars 11 are provided, parallel to said rollers and adequately spaced one from the other, between which web 13 to be sent to plotter 3 and unwinding from roller 15 is inserted and made slide.
  • In front of the plotter 3 inlet, parallel to driving bars 11 and to said inlet, a further driving bar 17 is provided, neutral, removably placed in an adequate slit seat 19, provided on the cup 1 walls. Between the two driving bars 11 and bar 17, a floating frame 21 is provided, that is rectangular, clamped with its rotation axis, coaxial to fixed bar 23, to the vessel 1 walls and resting with its free bar 25 on web 13 coming to plotter 3 and unwinding from roller 15.
  • Said floating frame 21 is connected to at least two micro-switch sensors 27, provided assembled in 29, making mobile roller 7, or the feeding roller, move or stop.
  • According to the lifted or lowered position of free bar 25 on web 13, said sensors 27 connect or disconnect rotator 9 controlling the automatic run or stop of the web 13 feeding.
  • The rotator for feeding roller 7 is provided with direct current, and assembled in 29; next to micro-switch sensors 27, a push-button 31 is provided for automatic or manual control, as well as a push-button 33 for "ahead" or "back" control to drive in the desired direction, once having inserted the "manual", the roller 25 winding or unwinding.
  • Obviously, in 29 it is also foreseen to have a push-button 35 for connection and disconnection, and a fuse 37.
  • The mentioned device is moreover equipped with means to keep roller 15, made of self-adhesive material, centered and perpendicular to the plotter 3 dragging roller; said means consisting of a couple of driving rings 39, placed on feeding roller 7, where at least one of which can be axially moved, of a couple of strikers 41, aligned with said rings, adjustable, and placed on input bars 11, where at least one of which can be axially moved, and of at least another couple of strikers 43, aligned with the previous ones, placed on bar 23, and where at least one of which can be axially moved.
  • On the rear side of cup 1 two flexure elastic tongues 45 are assembled, in order to keep the adherence of the film wound on roller 15.
