Es kann aber auch vorkommen, daß der Leiter in den gemeinsamen Trennschlitz zwischen der unmittelbar daneben angeordneten Klemmfeder ausweicht und sich dort verhakt. In dieser Falle wird die noch unbestückte, danebenliegende Klemmfeder blokkiert. Die Aussparung erstreckt sich bei dieser Lösung zwar über die volle Breite der an der Kontaktfläche anliegenden Kante; sie hat aber den Nachteil, daß die Scheitelhöhe der V-förmigen Aussparung sowohl vom Öffnungswinkel ihrer Schenkel als auch von der Breite der Klemmfeder und schließlich auch noch von der Neigung der Klemmfeder gegenüber der Kontaktfläche abhängt. Dies hat zur Folge, daß die für einen Leiter mit großem Durchmesser ausgelegte Aussparung einen dünnen Leiter nur unzuverlässig klemmen kann. Ist die Aussparungstiefe dagegen für einen dünnen Leiter bemessen, so ist der seitliche Halt für einen dicken Leiter nicht sicher gegeben. Dieselbe Problematik tritt auch auf bei Leitern mit ungleichförmigem Durchmesser, wie z.B. bei verzinnten Litzen.
