Abstract
The patent proposes a lid for the closure of containers of ice-cream or other similar products, even if non-edible, constituted by several overlappable elements connected by their edges.
The lid is obtained from a single piece of material, folded more than one time on itself, and sealed by glue or any other suitable system.
Description
- The lids nowadays generally used on round containers (or of any other shape) is formed by a piece of card board (or other suitable material), that matches with the upper rim of the container, where it becomes firm by pressure in an indent or against ribs that are located in the inner surface of the container rim.
- The purpose of the present potent is to propose a new type of lid, obtained from a single piece of card board, formed by two or more elements folded on each other into one and connected one to the other by the edge.
- The idea of the present solution will be clarified through the enclosed tables, where reference is made to a round lid, this being for a clarification purpose only.
- The table 1/2 in figure 1) shows a round lid, mode of three disks, in a view that shows it in a flat form; the figure 2) shows it in a cross section; table 2/2 in fig. 3) shows the lid during the folding phase, and on it die-cut areas have been evidentiated.
- With reference to the figures, the lid is constituted, by, in the case of the round shape, taken as example, three disks 1), connected by a peripherical edge 2), that are folded and overlapped.
- This solution offers the following advantages:
- gives a wide printing surface;
- gives folded and hidden surfaces, to be used for contest exc.
- can be utilized to form small toy figures, obtained by die-cutting and gluing (nbr. 3 fig. 3);
- It maches with the container in the some way than the normal lid;
- It matches with container of any material,as plan paper, or one-said or two-sides coated or laminated paper, or plastic material, or any other material.
- The interruption of the outer circular profile of the lid, caused by the hinge (crease) between two contiguous disks, (n.2 in fig. 1 and 3) is hidden by the profile of the third disk (n. 4 in fig. 1 and fig. 3). - After folding, in so doing ensuring the completeness of the round profile of the complete lid, that in turn guarantees the perfect fitting on the container.
- For different shapes, from the round one, this compensation of the profile could not be necessary.
- On the attached table the lid has been supposed to be round and formed by three disks, being obvious that either the shape or the number of elements can be different.
- In any case, to this idea of solution can be applied formal variations without going out of the dominion of the patent, that is defined by claims of the patent itself.
Claims (6)
1. Lid for containers, constituted by more layers or pages, preferibly round, connected by the edge, characterized by the fact that it is obtained from a single piece of card board (or other suitable material) folded on itself.
2. Lid as per claims nbr. 1), characterized by the fact that its structure can be used for promotional messages, or information for contest, sales campagnies,exc.,or to make figures or erectable figures, by die-cutting and gluing-system.
3. Lid according to the claims 1) and 2) ore characterized by the fact that it may be adaptable, alternatively with the one generally used, on the same containers in which this is adaptable without requesting particular modifications.
4. Lid as per claims nbr. 1), 2) and 3) characterized by the fact that it can be put on the container by the same machinery or tools used for the normal lid.
5. Lid as per claims nbr. 1), 2) and 3) characterized by the fact that (see point n° 6 of the description) in the case of the round shape, the completeness of the round profile, (guarranty of the correct fitting with the containers) is assured by the compensation between the straight hinge connecting two disks and the round profile of the third disk.
6. Lid as per all previous claims, whose shape con be also different from the round one.
