Description

The invention relates to a protective plug for a distribution strip in a telecommunications, in particular telephone system, the elongated protective plug having a plurality of transversely arranged surge arresters.

Such a protective plug is such. B. become known from DE 30 14 796 C2. Thereafter (Figure 3), the connecting pins of three-pole surge arresters can be inserted between the legs of spring contacts of a protective plug, which are bent in the shape of an inherent part, for a distributor strip. The spring contacts are open to the surge arrester and their base is arranged on the side facing away from the surge arresters. Centering holes for the connecting pins are arranged in the housing of the protective plug between the spring contacts and the surge arresters. The spring contacts are part of contact parts that end in plug-in contact tongues with which the protective plug can be inserted into a distribution strip. The contact part is T-shaped in its development), the two side legs being bent towards the surge arresters.

The invention has for its object to be able to manufacture and install the contact parts inexpensively.

This object is achieved by the invention according to claim 1. The spring legs can then be shaped in one operation by cutting out the contact parts. The geometry of the spring contact is precisely defined by the cutting punch, so that constant contact conditions are always given.

When the connection pins of the surge arresters are inserted, they are guided laterally in the slot-like recess, so that they can get safely between the spring legs of the spring contact. Due to the simple flat geometric shape of the spring contacts, these can be inserted more easily into the housing of the protective plug, which in particular favors the automation of the assembly.

According to a development of the invention, the material plane of the spring contacts extends in the longitudinal direction of the protective plug and the frankings are designed as continuous longitudinal slots. This allows the protective plug to be kept very narrow. A continuous recess can be easily manufactured in terms of production technology. The contact springs are parallel to the tongues, so that the contact parts can be stretched or made with simple bends.

According to another development of the invention, the surge arresters are designed with three poles, the spring contacts for the central poles of the surge arresters are connected in one piece to a longitudinally continuous earth plate in the direction of insertion and lie in the material plane thereof.

Such an earth plate can be punched out in one piece together with the spring contacts. No bends are required and can therefore be inserted exactly into the housing of the protective plug.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.

Fig. 3
a plan view of the protective plug according to Figure 2.

According to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, a protective plug 1 has a housing 2, an earth plate 3 and contact parts 4. The housing is provided with receiving chambers 5 for three-pole surge arresters 6. These have radially projecting connecting pins 7, which can be contacted with the contact parts 4 and the earth plate 3. The contact parts 4 end on the side facing away from the receiving chambers 5 in tabs 8 which can be inserted into mating contacts of a distribution strip, not shown. These counter contacts are e.g. B. connected to subscriber lines. There is thus an electrical connection between these and the surge arresters 6.

The surge arresters 6 are arranged in a row in the longitudinal direction of the protective plug 1. In each case, the two end connection pins 7 of the cylindrical surge arrester 6 are contacted with the contact parts 4. The middle pin 7 is connected to the earth plate 3, so that overcurrents occurring in the subscriber lines can be derived to earth.

In the area of the connecting pins 7, the contact parts 4 and the earth plate 3 are designed as fork-shaped spring contacts 9. The legs of the spring contacts 9 are cut out of the flat material of the contact parts 4 and can be deflected in the material plane. They dip with their resilient ends into slot-like recesses 10 of an intermediate base 11 of the housing 2. The recesses 10 are formed as continuous longitudinal slots that are slightly wider than the diameter of the connecting pins 7. These are guided laterally between the legs of the spring contacts 9 when inserted through centering holes in the intermediate floor 11.

The strip-shaped earth sheet 3 is inserted and guided in its base in fork-shaped projections 12 of the housing 2. The contact parts 4 and the earth plate 3 extend with their Material levels essentially in the longitudinal direction of the protective plug 1, so that it can be kept accordingly narrow.
