- scaffolding structures used on building are not taken advantage of for other purposes, such as the possibility of acting as a base on which to mount advertising billboards, in addition to the primary purpose fulfilled by the scaffolding.
- the system is based in all cases on a canvas or net with eyes near the edges, through which can be passed hooking devices by means of which to suspend that section of canvas, which is, on the other hand, complemented by a plastic transparent sheet fitted on to it, so as to form between the two an enclosure in which will be placed the advertisement itself.
- Spanish utility models 8700705; 8703275 and 8800759 were applied for, all of them by the same applicant, and although such models or applications introduced solutions to problems detected in the previous one, since all correspond to the same line of research, given that all are devised on the basis of the same conceptual idea, it is a fact that everything can be, and as a matter of fact is, susceptible of improvement which is precisely the present case, since this patent application presents a number of features providing a definitive solution to the problems encountered in the implementation of the aforesaid models.
- the advertising support hereby proposed is composed by a portion of canvas of rectangular or quadrangular shape, not excluding the possibility of any other shape: poligonal, circular, oval, etc.
- Said canvas is reinforced along its perimeter by means of a band or strip, in which there have been made a number of openings or eyes to allow it to be fitted, by means of appropriate devices (hooks, flanges, bolt pins, straps, etc.) to the tubes or bars an/or crossbars forming the scaffolding structure.
- This canvas on the side intended as the outer, or visible side, is fitted with one or more transparent sheets, also of any appropriate shape, which are secured to the canvas by welding, or otherwise by an enduring adhesive which assures an intimate and permanent union between the canvas material and the plastic material.
- an enclosure or chamber is formed, in which will be housed the advertisement, which will obviously be inserted in a support made of plastic or a similar material, i.e. a material which will allow bending, just like the canvas and the transparent material, so that the whole assembly can be prepared at the works and be transported to the construction site or location where it is to be erected, during which transport it will be rolled up in the same manner as a carpet.
- the rear side of the canvas has a number of slits which may follow a conventional line, always continuous, or which may be "U” or “V”-shaped, etc. which will in any case constitute the opening through which to insert and accomodate the advertising sheet behind the transparent front sheet.
- openings or slits will be closed by sowing or any other system which will keep moisture or dirt from entering the enclosure housing the sheet containing the advertisement.
- Said slits or openings allow the portion of canvas within the slits to be folded down, thus allowing the correct arrangement of the aforesaid sheet bearing the advertisement, after which the canvas portion is returned to its previous coplanar position and the opening is closed, there being the possibility of the opening being lined on either side by reinforcing strips, also with openings or eyes through which to pass ropes, wires, hooks, bolt pins, etc, in order to close said openings.
- the canvas can be complemented, the same as the advertisement-bearing sheet, with strips for joining the various sections or even for attaching the whole assembly onto the scaffolding.
- advertisement support has always been referred to as applicable to scaffolding structures, it can likewise be mounted onto any other kind of structure or fencing, either conventional or special.
- the advertisement support covers a section of canvas (1) which has along its perimeter a reinforcing strip or band (2) with a number of holes or eyes (3) for suspending or mounting the assembly onto a scaffolding structure or any other structure or fence.
- the front face of said canvas (1) has attached to it one or two transparent sheets (4), by means of welding or adhesive such that an enclosure or chamber is formed between the sheets and the canvas itself, which will in turn house another sheet bearing the advertisement, which will be visible through the transparent sheet (4).
- slits (5) which form openings for the proper and convenient insertion or arrangement of the advertisement-bearing sheet.
- Said slits (5) may be of any shape and can form sections of canvas which can be folded down to allow said arrangement of the advertisement sheet(s).
- holes (6) On either side of the slits (5) there are holes (6) through which to pass the means of closing the corresponding openings. These holes (6) may be on reinforcement bands (7) on either side of the slits (5), as shown in figure 4.
- the canvas (1) besides the holes or eyes (3) on the reinforcing band along its perimeter, may be complemented with other holes (8), or straps (9) with or without holes (10), attached to the front or to the rear side of the canvas (1) by means of stitching (11).
- the straps (9) are fitted around the rings (12) as will be explained later on.
- the sheet (13) which constitutes the support for the advertisement(s) can have any configuraion and must be made of a perfectly flexible material, not excluding the possibility of other materials.
- Said sheet can have along one of its edges, or even all of them, a reinforcing strip (14) with holes (15) through which to pass fitting and attachment elements, mentioned above, or it can also be fitted with straps (9) by means of which it may likewise be attached, as described for the section of canvas itself (1).
- the support assembly canvas 1, transparent sheet 4 and advertisement-bearing sheet 13
- the support assembly can have matching holes on the three parts, through which to pass pin bolts, hooks, hooks with pins, etc., in order to hold together said mounting structure assembly.
- the straps (9) can be attached to the canvas (1), to the sheet (13), to either of them or to both at the same time, such that in some cases it may be that the straps are attached to the rear face of the canvas (1), and then made to pass through holes in the canvas onto the front part and attached, for example, to rings (12) fitted onto the rear side of the sheet (13) bearing the advertisement, thus causing the latter to be fixed onto the canvas.
- the rear side of the sheet may have rings which pass through holes in the canvas to the rear faces, where they are attached by a strap running through them.
- Another form of attachment is to have the straps (9) fitted onto the rear side of the sheet (13) bearing the advertisement and have the rings (9) fitted either to the inner canvas (1) face or to the outer face, for which the latter case would require the canvas to have holes through which to pass the above mentioned straps (9).
- Another form is to have the straps (9) fitted to the inner face of the canvas (1) which attach directly onto rings (12) fitted to the rear face of the sheet (13) bearing the advertisement, or having said rings (12) on the inner face of same in which case it must have holes through which to pass the straps (9).
- the straps (9) may or may not have the hole (10) and in any case such straps (9) may be used to attach the assembly (canvas-sheet bearing the advertisement) onto the scaffolding or whatever structure as the case may be.
Abstract
The present invention refers to an advertising support for mounting onto scaffolding structures, as well as fixed and mobile tubular structures, constituted by a canvas having any shape, preferably rectangular or quadrangular, having along its perimeter a reinforcing band or other element with clear holes or eyes for suspending the assembly by means of pin bolts, hooks, etc. from the bars and/or crossbars belonging to the structure of the scaffolding; the front face of said canvas has one or two transparent sheets attached by welding or by an adhesive, through which transparent sheets will be visible the advertisements inserted in corresponding flexible sheets housed inside the enclosure or chamber formed between each transparent sheet and the canvas itself; it having been provided that the canvas should have at the rear of the transparent sheets a number of U or V-shaped slits, or with another shape, forming openings allowing the sections of the canvas within said slits to be folded down, with the special feature that on either side of said slits holes have been provided through which to pass the means of closing the corresponding openings, with the possibility of said slits being lined on other side by reinforcing bands likewise having the above mentioned clear holes.
Description
- The present invention refers to an advertising billboard for mounting onto scaffolding structures as well as fixed and mobile tubular structures, constituting a simple, economic and easily assembled device, of great effectiveness for the function and purpose aimed at.
- It is a known fact that scaffolding structures used on building, whether it be for the erection of same or for the refurbishing of facades, are not taken advantage of for other purposes, such as the possibility of acting as a base on which to mount advertising billboards, in addition to the primary purpose fulfilled by the scaffolding.
- However, the applicant for the present patent application is the owner of other recent patents in which an advertising system is claimed which proves to be very simple and economical, giving very satisfactory results.
- Based on this conceptual idea, Spanish utility models 8700705; 8703275 and 8800759 were applied for, all of them by the same applicant, and although such models or applications introduced solutions to problems detected in the previous one, since all correspond to the same line of research, given that all are devised on the basis of the same conceptual idea, it is a fact that everything can be, and as a matter of fact is, susceptible of improvement which is precisely the present case, since this patent application presents a number of features providing a definitive solution to the problems encountered in the implementation of the aforesaid models.
- More specifically, the advertising support hereby proposed is composed by a portion of canvas of rectangular or quadrangular shape, not excluding the possibility of any other shape: poligonal, circular, oval, etc. Said canvas is reinforced along its perimeter by means of a band or strip, in which there have been made a number of openings or eyes to allow it to be fitted, by means of appropriate devices (hooks, flanges, bolt pins, straps, etc.) to the tubes or bars an/or crossbars forming the scaffolding structure.
- This canvas, on the side intended as the outer, or visible side, is fitted with one or more transparent sheets, also of any appropriate shape, which are secured to the canvas by welding, or otherwise by an enduring adhesive which assures an intimate and permanent union between the canvas material and the plastic material.
- Between the canvas and each sheet section an enclosure or chamber is formed, in which will be housed the advertisement, which will obviously be inserted in a support made of plastic or a similar material, i.e. a material which will allow bending, just like the canvas and the transparent material, so that the whole assembly can be prepared at the works and be transported to the construction site or location where it is to be erected, during which transport it will be rolled up in the same manner as a carpet.
- The rear side of the canvas has a number of slits which may follow a conventional line, always continuous, or which may be "U" or "V"-shaped, etc. which will in any case constitute the opening through which to insert and accomodate the advertising sheet behind the transparent front sheet.
- These openings or slits will be closed by sowing or any other system which will keep moisture or dirt from entering the enclosure housing the sheet containing the advertisement. Said slits or openings allow the portion of canvas within the slits to be folded down, thus allowing the correct arrangement of the aforesaid sheet bearing the advertisement, after which the canvas portion is returned to its previous coplanar position and the opening is closed, there being the possibility of the opening being lined on either side by reinforcing strips, also with openings or eyes through which to pass ropes, wires, hooks, bolt pins, etc, in order to close said openings.
- The canvas can be complemented, the same as the advertisement-bearing sheet, with strips for joining the various sections or even for attaching the whole assembly onto the scaffolding.
- Even though in the course of the present description the advertisement support has always been referred to as applicable to scaffolding structures, it can likewise be mounted onto any other kind of structure or fencing, either conventional or special.
- To allow a better understanding of the features of the invention, a detailed description will be made based on a set of drawings enclosed with the present description and forming an integral part of same, and which merely for purposes of orientation and without a limiting character, feature the following:
- Figure 1 shows a front view of an advertising support with a single transparent sheet.
- Figure 2 shows a front view of the advertising support with two transparent sheets.
- Figures 3 and 4 show rear views of an advertising support with different shapes as regards the slits on the canvas.
- Figure 5 shows a detailed view of the straps incorporated in the support featured in figure 4.
- Figure 6 shows a front view of the shape of the sheet bearing the advertisement.
- Figure 7 finally shows a detailed view of a strap with ring, according to a different system to the straps featured in figure 4.
- In said figures, the numbers correspond to:
1.- Canvas (1) 2.- Reinforcing strip along the perimeter of the canvas(1).
3. - Openings for attaching the canvas (1).
4. - Transparent sheets attached to the front side of the canvas (1).
5.- Slits forming openings.
6.- Holes for closing the openings produced by the slits(5).
7.- Reinforcing strips along the perimeter of the slits(5).
8.- Complementary holes in the canvas(1).
9.- Straps attached to the canvas, or to the sheet bearing the advertisement, or to both.
10.- Opening for straps (9).
11.- Stitching of straps (9) to the canvas (1).
12.- Strap (9) attachment ring.
13.- Sheet bearing the advertisement.
14.- Reinforcement tosheet 13.
15.- Holes through which to pass the attachment elements for the sheets (13). - As can be seen in the figures, the advertisement support covers a section of canvas (1) which has along its perimeter a reinforcing strip or band (2) with a number of holes or eyes (3) for suspending or mounting the assembly onto a scaffolding structure or any other structure or fence.
- On the canvas (1), behind the transparent sheets (4), there are a number of slits (5) which form openings for the proper and convenient insertion or arrangement of the advertisement-bearing sheet. Said slits (5) may be of any shape and can form sections of canvas which can be folded down to allow said arrangement of the advertisement sheet(s).
- On either side of the slits (5) there are holes (6) through which to pass the means of closing the corresponding openings. These holes (6) may be on reinforcement bands (7) on either side of the slits (5), as shown in figure 4.
- The canvas (1), besides the holes or eyes (3) on the reinforcing band along its perimeter, may be complemented with other holes (8), or straps (9) with or without holes (10), attached to the front or to the rear side of the canvas (1) by means of stitching (11).
- The straps (9) are fitted around the rings (12) as will be explained later on.
- Finally, as regards the sheet (13) which constitutes the support for the advertisement(s), it can have any configuraion and must be made of a perfectly flexible material, not excluding the possibility of other materials. Said sheet can have along one of its edges, or even all of them, a reinforcing strip (14) with holes (15) through which to pass fitting and attachment elements, mentioned above, or it can also be fitted with straps (9) by means of which it may likewise be attached, as described for the section of canvas itself (1).
- As has already been mentioned, the support assembly (
canvas 1, transparent sheet 4 and advertisement-bearing sheet 13), can have matching holes on the three parts, through which to pass pin bolts, hooks, hooks with pins, etc., in order to hold together said mounting structure assembly. - On the other hand, the straps (9) can be attached to the canvas (1), to the sheet (13), to either of them or to both at the same time, such that in some cases it may be that the straps are attached to the rear face of the canvas (1), and then made to pass through holes in the canvas onto the front part and attached, for example, to rings (12) fitted onto the rear side of the sheet (13) bearing the advertisement, thus causing the latter to be fixed onto the canvas. On the other hand, the rear side of the sheet may have rings which pass through holes in the canvas to the rear faces, where they are attached by a strap running through them.
- Logically, the straps (9) may or may not have the hole (10) and in any case such straps (9) may be used to attach the assembly (canvas-sheet bearing the advertisement) onto the scaffolding or whatever structure as the case may be.
- As with the alternatives stated for joining the different elements, the same applies for suspending the assembly from the structure, fence, scaffolding, etc., which it is mounted on.
