The bottom wall sections have on the one hand tabs (200) and on the other hand recesses (220,240) provided to receive them. The tab is arranged in an articulated manner on the bottom wall section and is divisible via a fold line (206), as a result of which the insertion into the recesses is made easier. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a packaging made of cardboard or the like. for packaging one or more objects, with a blank that has a top surface, two side walls articulated thereon and a bottom wall consisting of two sections, the bottom wall sections on the one hand having tabs and on the other hand being provided with slot-shaped recesses (see, for example, US-A -3,351,263).

The invention has for its object to provide a packaging of the type mentioned, in which there is a secure locking of the two bottom wall sections together.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features defined in claim 1.

To close the erected packaging, the tab is inserted into the first recess from below, with an opening remaining from the punched-out area of the tab.

The flap is then folded in and its free part is inserted through the opening and the second recess where it hooks.

When the flap is punched out, an opening is formed according to the invention, from which two incisions extend laterally, two incisions also originating from the second recess of the other bottom wall section. These four incisions are intended to allow passage of the second part of the flap.

It is particularly advantageous if, according to the invention, the incisions enclose an angle with the second fold line dividing the flap.

This ensures that the inserted rag cannot go back unintentionally.

It is also very advantageous if, according to the invention, at least one tongue is formed on the outer edge of the bottom wall section facing away from the rag, which in the erected state of the packaging engages behind an edge of this opening formed when the rag is punched out.

1 to 3, a cardboard blank 100 is shown, which has a top wall 110 with side walls 120 and 130 articulated thereon via two folding lines 112 and 113. A bottom wall section 140a is articulated on the side wall 120 via a further folding line 124 and a second bottom wall section 140b is hinged on the side wall 130 via a folding line 134. The two folding lines 124 and 134 are interrupted by U-shaped cutting lines 150, through which openings are created when the blank is erected, into which the objects to be packaged, not shown, engage with their lower edge section and thus experience a hold.
Two tabs 200 are punched out of the bottom wall section 140b and consist of two sections 200a and 200b, are hinged to the bottom wall section via a folding line 202 and are divided via a folding line 206. The part 200a of the flap which is directly hinged to the bottom wall section has a trapezoidal configuration and tapers from the articulation folding line 202 to the dividing folding line 206. Two straight sections 204c and 204d adjoin this part, which run outwards and in pass over a convex portion 204e. In the area of the fold line 206, two incisions 208a and 208b extend from the cutting line 204 forming the flap 200 and extend away from the flap.
In the other bottom wall section 140a, two larger recesses 220 and two smaller recesses 240 are arranged one behind the other, which are used for inserting and locking the tabs. The recess 220 is delimited by a cutting line 222 which has a substantially straight edge 222a and a curved edge 222b. In contrast, the recess 240 or its cutting edge 242 has two straight sections 242a and 242b, which are delimited by two inclined sections 242c, 242d and 242e, 242f and thus taper to a point. Two incisions 244a and 244b adjoin these tips, which allow the flap 200 to pass through. The length of the recess 240 denoted by L4 corresponds approximately to the length L3 of the second fold line 206 of the flap 200. Only through the length L6 resulting from the incisions 244a and 244b, which is somewhat larger than the width L5 of the upper flap part 200b, the threading is made possible. In contrast, the recess 220 has a length L2 which is at least equal to the length L1 of the flap on its articulation folding line 202, as a result of which this flap section can be easily inserted into the recess. The distance L8 of the central plane A of the recess 240, which has the greatest longitudinal extent, to the straight edge 222a of the recess 220 corresponds to the distance L7 of the two fold lines 202 and 206, so that a perfect threading of the flap is made possible, as is shown in FIG. b, c will be explained.

As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, the tabs 200 are first pressed outwards when the blank is erected into a package. The blank is then folded over its fold lines and wrapped around the objects (not shown), the bottom wall section 140b coming inwards and the bottom wall section 140a coming outwards.

As shown in FIG. 4 a, the tab 200 is then pushed through the recess 220 from the inside and the two bottom wall sections 140 a and b are placed flat on top of one another. Then, as shown in FIG. 4b, the flap is folded in around the fold line 206 and the free section 200b of the flap is inserted inwards through the recesses 240 and 210 and then, as can be seen in FIG. 4c, stands vertically inwards.

This final stage is shown in two different views in FIGS.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 7, the tabs and the recesses for inserting the tabs differ only slightly from those of the exemplary embodiment described above. The edge 204f of the flap facing away from the articulation-fold line 202 is flattened in order to be able to receive a tongue 260 which is formed on the opposite edge 142a of the blank. This tongue has two oblique boundary edges 262a and 262b, which form their pointed shape. In addition, it is divided into two sections by an incision 262c, which makes it easier to push it in. It is important in this embodiment that the distance L10 of the outer edge 222a of the recess 220 to the outer edge 142a of the blank corresponds to the total length L9 of the flap.

The push-through and threading process of the flap does not differ in the first steps from those of the previous example, as can be seen from FIGS. 8a, b, c. Then, as shown in FIG. 8d, the tongue 260 is pressed inward through the opening 210 and then comes to lie on the inside of the bottom wall section 140b. This is clearly illustrated in FIG. 9.

Pack made from board or a similar material for packaging one or more objects, with a blank (100) that has a top panel (110), to which two side panels (120, 130) are hinged, and a base panel consisting of two sections (140a, 140b), one of which has tabs (200), while the other one has slot-like openings (220, 240) provided to accommodate these tabs, the tabs (200) die-cut from one base panel section (140b) being hinged to this base panel section by a folding line (202) facing the free outside edge (142b) of the base panel section, the tab (200) being divided up into two sections (200a, 200b) by a further folding line (206), both folding lines (202, 206) running parallel to each other and to the free outside edge (142b) of the base panel section (140b) and the tab (200) having projections (204c, 204d, 204d, 204h), with which it can lock in the openings (220, 240), while the section of the tab (200) between the two folding lines (202, 206) has the shape of a trapezoid and tapers from the outer folding line (202) to the inner folding line (206) and the length (L1) of the first folding line (202) is smaller or the same as the length (L2) of an essentially straight edge (222a) of the opening in the other base panel section (140a), where the outline of the second section (200b) of the tab (200) is formed by two straight sections (204c, 204d) and one convex circular section (204e), the two straight sections starting and diverging from the ends of the second folding line (206) and being joined by the convex circular section, where two cuts (208a, 208b) extend laterally from the hole (210) formed when the tab (200) is die-cut and where two cuts (244a, 244b) also extend from the second opening (240) of the other base panel section (140a), the purpose of these four cuts being to allow the second section (200b) of the tab to pass through.
  2. Pack according to claim 1, wherein the cuts (208a, 208b, 244a, 244b) form an angle with the second folding line (206) that divides up the tab (200).
  3. Pack according to claim 1 or 2 with at least one projection (260) provided on the outer edge (142a) of the base panel section (140a) opposite the tabs (200) that engages one edge (204f) of the opening (210) created by the die-cut tab once the pack has been erected, wherein the projection (260) is pointed in shape and has two slanting edges (262a and 262b).
