Abstract

The invention relates to a crate, with a compartment arrangement, for bottles, in particular for wine bottles, which can also be used in a lying position. The invention consists in that, at a distance from the crate bottom (1), at least one projection (8) is provided, which projects into a compartment of the compartment arrangement, that this distance is greater than the distance of the centre of gravity (10) of the bottle (13) to be inserted from the bottle bottom (11), that the distance between that end (9) of this projection (8) which projects into the compartment and the central axis of the compartment is equal to or greater than the greatest radius of that section of a bottle to be inserted which is situated below the projection (8) and that, in the region of the crate bottom (1), a free space is provided, which allows a sideways movement of the bottle bottom (11), at least after release. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a bottle crate to be used lying down, in particular for wine bottles, with a compartment.

Such bottle crates have become known from DE-GM 75 32 648. These bottle crates can be stacked one on top of the other on the side wall, with the bottom bottle crate is placed with its front edge on a bar so that it has an inclined position with respect to a horizontal floor. Bottle crates stacked on top of it then also have a corresponding inclined position facing forwards and upwards. Since the front edges of the stacked bottle crates should lie in a vertical plane, the lower wall of the lying bottle crate protrudes somewhat above its upper side wall and also opposite the upper side wall of the next lower bottle crate due to the inclined position. The known bottle crates have a stack safety device that locks the bottle crates in this position. This stacking safety device consists of holes in the side wall. The distance of the holes from the front edge of the upper side wall when the bottle crate is lying is smaller than this distance of the holes in the lower side wall, so that with a certain inclination of the bottle crates the holes of the lower side wall of the upper fasting with the holes of the upper side wall of the downstream Box cursed. A pin is then inserted through these holes, which locks the two superimposed bottle crates in this position. Bottle crates stacked one above the other can replace a shelf, but building a shelf with these known bottle crates is difficult and time-consuming because the holes in the side walls of the bottle crates stacked one on top of the other are only aligned in a certain inclined position, so that the appropriate choice of support of the front edge of the lower bottle crate this particular inclination must be made, in which the holes are then aligned. Even then it is still necessary to align bottle crates stacked one on top of the other so that the holes are aligned so precisely that the pins can be inserted into these holes. Since the pens have to be added to the bottle crates loosely, there is always that the risk of losing individual pens. If the inclined position of the crates does not correspond to the inclined position that was used as a basis for making the holes in the side walls of the bottle crates, the front edges of the lower side walls of the superimposed bottle crates do not lie in a vertical plane if the bottle crates are so displaced, that the holes are aligned and the bolts can be inserted into them.

However, there is a need for bottle crates in which bottles can be transported upright, but which are also suitable for being able to be stacked on top of one another, so that a shelf can be put together from these bottle crates, in which bottles, e.g. Wine bottles that can be stored lying down.

The invention has for its object to develop this need satisfactory bottle crates from which a shelf for inserting lying bottles can be built without difficulty.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that at least one stop extending into a compartment of the compartment is provided at a distance from the bottom of the box, that this distance is greater than the distance of the center of gravity of the bottle to be adjusted from the bottom of the bottle, that the distance between the The cantilevered end of this stop and the central axis of the compartment is equal to or greater than the largest radius of the section of the bottle to be adjusted below the stop and that in the area of the bottle holder dens a free space allowing at least after release is provided.

These bottle crates have the advantage that they can be stacked horizontally on one side one above the other without an inclined position, so that any stacking devices do not have to be arranged at different distances from the respective edge of the box wall. For example, such stack safeguards can consist of bores in the box walls, which are arranged in the area of the walls of a compartment and into which a rod which extends over a large part of the height of the stack is inserted.

The bottle crate according to the invention can be used both for the transport of standing bottles and for the storage of lying bottles, so that the bottles no longer have to be removed from the bottle crate and placed on a shelf during storage but can remain in the bottle crate.

The free space permitting a sideways movement of the bottle bottom can be formed in that the bottle bottom does not rest against a stop preventing a sideways movement of the bottle bottom when the bottle is standing vertically on the bottle bottom. If the bottle crate is then placed on one side, the bottom of the bottle slides down a bit due to gravity until it comes to rest either on the next bottle down or on a stop, for example also on a wall of the compartment. Above its center of gravity, the bottle lies against the first stop in this side position of the bottle crate, so that the bottle slants towards it is in the top of the bottle crate and therefore cannot fall out in the side position of the bottle crate. The angle of the inclined position of the wine bottle is preferably selected so that the wine at least partially wets the inner surface of the cork when the wine bottles are properly filled.

The bottle crate can have a compartment with compartment walls extending to the bottom of the crate, but in other embodiments of the invention it can also have a compartment which divides individual compartments and consists only of a grid which is arranged above the center of gravity of the bottle and none up to the crate bottom has running walls. Such compartmentalizations, which are arranged at a distance above the base of the box and consist only of a grid, are known in metal bottle boxes. If the invention is preferably implemented in a bottle crate made of plastic, in which the compartment has individual compartment walls reaching to the bottom of the crate, the distance between opposing walls of the compartment is greater than the largest bottle diameter in the lower half of the bottle, so that the bottle is around the upper Swivel the stop and can get into the inclined position mentioned. In this case, when stored on the side surface of the box, the lower end of the bottle does not rest on the lower end of the bottle below this bottle, but on one of the walls dividing the compartment.

In one embodiment of the invention, at least one stop intended for contact laterally on the bottle wall is provided on the bottom of the box, the stop surface of which is at a distance from the central axis of the compartment, which corresponds to the outer bottle radius at the point at which it is on the bottle against the wall. First of all, this ensures that the bottle is at right angles to the bottle base when the bottle crate is transported upright and is held in its position even when shaken. The stop can be rigidly connected to the box bottom. The free space that is required to move the lower end of the bottle to produce an inclined position of the bottle axis is then released in that the bottle shifts somewhat in the direction of the bottle axis until the bottle bottom is released from the stop, so that this then the Overcome the stop and slide down until it comes to rest on the compartment wall or on the next bottle below. The stop can also be provided in a movable and retractable manner in the bottom of the box and expediently connected to a device with which the stops are either deactivated by hand or automatically move the stops located on the bottom of the box when the bottle crate is stored in the side position brings.

If the stop located on the bottom of the box is rigidly connected to the bottom of the box, in embodiments of the invention its height is less than the height of the attack above the center of gravity of the bottle above the center of gravity, so that with a small outward movement of the bottle which is carried out manually or occurs automatically and thus freeing up the space, the center of gravity of the bottle does not go out beyond the upper stop The free space is thus automatically released when the bottle is moved outwards and this outward movement is stopped by pivoting the bottle into the free space; in this position it cannot fall out and can only be pulled forward and out by hand be removed from the box because the bottle must be moved diagonally upwards.

In embodiments of the invention, the stop located on the bottom of the box can be formed by a recess in the bottom of the box, so that the lower end of the bottle is held in a recess in the bottom of the box.

Instead of individual stops, in embodiments of the invention a plate with recesses receiving the lower end of the bottles can also be provided directly on the bottom of the box, through which the depressions in the bottom of the box are formed. This plate, in which the edge of a recess forms the abovementioned stop which engages at the lower end of the bottle, can be guided in the direction of the bottle axis so that it can be moved at a distance from the bottom of the bottle for transport when the bottle is stationary, with the bottle case being stored laterally However, it can be brought into contact with the possibly flat bottle base, so that the bottles slide out of the recess by themselves or due to their curvature at the transition of the bottle side wall into the bottle base or in the event of a vibration or by slight pulling out of the bottle.

In the case of embodiments of the invention, the stop arranged above the center of gravity of the bottle can be fastened to a compartment wall or can be formed by the edge of an opening of a grating which divides a compartment and which has already been mentioned.

In the latter case, the grid can be moved in a plane parallel to the box bottom, so that it is fixed to the box bottom Bottom of the bottle, the inclined position of the bottles is produced in that the grid forming the upper stop is moved upwards when the bottle crate is lying down and is held in this position. This shifting can in turn either be done manually or automatically, for example by means of a projection which is passed through the side wall of the bottle crate and which is pressed inwards when the bottle crate is placed on a side wall and shifts the grille upward.

The bottle crate according to the invention is not only suitable as a replacement for a shelf, but in particular also for the purpose of bringing the empty bottles back to the place of purchase after use as a storage container.

Further features of the invention will become apparent from the following description of an embodiment of the invention in conjunction with the claims and the drawing. The individual features can be implemented individually or in groups in one embodiment of the invention.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown. Show it
  • 1 shows a section of a side view of the narrow side of a lying bottle crate, partly in section along the line II of FIG. 2, with a bottle, the position of which is inclined towards the crate bottom, the position of which is indicated by dash-dotted lines with the bottle axis running at right angles to the crate bottom;
  • 2 shows a plan view of the bottle crate, the right half of the picture only showing a section through the horizontal central plane of the crate.

In the embodiment of the invention shown in the drawing, the bottle crate has a base 1, wide side walls 2 and 3 and narrow side walls 4 and 5. The outer walls of the box measure approximately 200 x 300 mm. A compartment is provided in the box, which can extend slightly beyond its half height. Its compartment walls 6.7 divide six individual compartments, which are used to hold six 0.75 l reusable wine bottles. The distance from opposing compartment walls 6, the distance of the compartment walls 6 from the inner surfaces of the nearest side wall 4 or 5 and the distance of the middle compartment wall 7 from the inner surface of one of the side walls 2 or 3 of the bottle crate is in each case larger than the diameter of the aforementioned wine bottle . At a distance from the bottle base 1, stops 8 are fastened or cast on the inside of the outer walls and on the compartment walls 6, which have an abutment surface 9, which is approximately circular segment-like in plan view, for contacting the bottle wall. The distance of the front end of the stops 8 from the front end 9 of the opposite stop 8 is equal to or slightly larger than the largest diameter of the bottle section, which is located below the stops 8 when the bottle is set approximately vertically in the bottle crate. The distance of the stops 8 from the bottom of the box is greater than the distance of the center of gravity 10 of the bottle from the bottle bottom 11. Four stops 8 are arranged along the circumference of a bottle 13.

On the crate bottom 1 there are stops 14 extending perpendicularly to the crate bottom 1 on webs 12, the spacing of which from one another is approximately the same or only slightly larger than the diameter of the crate bottom 11. The height of these stops 14 is less than the distance of the center of gravity 10 from the plane in which the ends 9 of the stops 8 lie.

To transport the bottles with the bottle crate upright, the bottles 13 are placed in the crate so that their bottle bottom 11 is held between the stops 14. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the bottle has its largest diameter in the vicinity of the plane in which the stops 8 are arranged. The bottle is therefore held in its standing position on the bottle bottom by centering during transport and does not fling back and forth in the compartment, which is too large. If the bottles are to be stored horizontally, the bottle crates are stored horizontally on one of the side walls. During an outward movement, the bottle 13 is released from the stops 14. The bottle bottom then slides down and lies against the compartment wall 7, the longitudinal axis of the bottle 13 then runs obliquely upward, so that it cannot fall out in the horizontal position of the bottle crate. It is not necessary for the bottle to be stored horizontally by hand to pull it forward so that the bottle base 11 is released from the stops 14. The bottles can also be left in the horizontal position when centered by the stops 14. If, due to any circumstances, this bottle moves forward, this forward movement is stopped by the bottle bottom being released from the stops 14 and the bottle assuming the above-mentioned inclined position.

In the position shown in FIG. 1, the bottle crate can be used like a shelf, a full bottle can be removed from the compartment and an empty bottle can be inserted into an empty compartment. The position of the center of gravity 10 can be slightly different for a full bottle than for an empty bottle. The distance of the plane in which the contact surfaces 9 of the stops 8 lie from the center of gravity 10 is dimensioned such that there is a clear distance between the plane of the contact surface 9 and the center of gravity 10 both when the bottle is full and when it is empty. In any case, this distance is also greater than the height of the stops 14 on the box bottom.

The upper edge of the box walls is designed in a manner known per se so that the bottle boxes can also be stacked one above the other in a vertical position and are secured in this position. The side surfaces of the walls can contain devices which allow stacking on top of one another in a horizontal position of the bottle crates. The side walls can be designed such that walls of adjacent boxes lying one on top of the other engage in one another.

A box designed according to the invention also forms an incentive to buy, because boxes stacked on top of one another in a horizontal position can replace a shelf or the like. The consumer can use the crate to transport bottles from the point of purchase and storage at home and again to transport the empty bottles back to the point of purchase.
