Abstract

A display-dispenser, in particular of the lollipop type, is described, which is made up preferably of a triangular base (5), on which is supported a body (1) constituted by a multiple group of cylinders (13), at a tangent to one another and located in a semicircular position. Each of these cylinders (13) has in its lower part a window (8) of a circular cross-section; a window (9), also of circular cross-section, is provided on the rear generatrix of each cylinder (13). The main body (1) is finished off in its upper part by a lid (2) self-centred and articulated by a hinge, which finishes off the said body in a shape similar to the base.

Description

  • The present invention refers to a display-dispenser for sweets, in particular for the display and sale of sweets with sticks, of the "lollipop" type, at points of sale.
  • Sweet display-dispensers particularly for lollipop type sweets are already known, some of which have given rise to registration on the part of the creator of the present invention. For example, Spanish Industrial Model No. 109,989, applied for on 17 February 1986, consists of a tray to hold and present sweets with sticks or handles; this tray is made up essentially of a sheetlike plate of a rectangular outline with a peripheral flange or brim pointing downwards. In the presentation area there are depressions made in the form of an inverted truncated cone, with the lower or smaller base perforated, which are arranged in lines or columns, there being also other depressions, alternating with the above ones, approximately of an inverted pyramidal shape, essentially regularly quadrangular with blunt ridges and also with their smaller base surface perforated. In this case the sweet handles are inserted into each of the openings in the form of inverted truncated cones, and the sweet itself rests on the other depressions.
  • Similarly a display-dispenser for sweets, preferably of the lollipop type, is known, which is made up of a circular stand or base on which a main cylindrical body is placed, the whole unit being finished off by a lid which is essentially conical in shape. In this case, the various sweets are inserted in a disorderly fashion in the said cylindrical body, and the upper lid has to be removed in order to extract the sweets. In this display-dispenser, a series of openings are made in the said upper lid into which the stick-handles of the lollipop type sweets are inserted vertically for display purposes. This display-dispenser is the subject of Spanish Utility Model N° 278,288, granted on 28 February 1985 to the creator of the present invention.
  • The purpose of this invention is essentially to modify the form of sweet display-dispenser covered by Spanish industrial Model 109.989 or to eliminate the obvious drawbacks of the cylindrical display-dispenser covered by Utility Model 278,288 mentioned above. To do this, the sweet display-dispenser which is the subject of this invention, is characterised in that it is constituted by a base on which is supported perpendicularly a body made up of a multiple group of cylinders, at a tangent to one another and located in a semicircular position, with windows of a circular cross-section made in the lower part of each cylinder; a window, also a circular cross-section is provided on the rear generatrix of each cylinder for the stick handles of the sweets and the body of cylinders is protected in its upper part by a lid self-centred and articulated by a hinge which attaches it permanently to the main body and which finishes off the said body in a shape similar to the base.
  • In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the display-dispenser is also characterised in that the base has turrets to support each sweet, one in each cylinder, arranged in a circular fashion and angularly equidistant.
  • Similarly, in accordance with the invention, male and female projections are arranged in the rear part of the base for the modular attachment of different bases. The lid of the sweet display-dispenser which is the subject of this application, has a front flap and is articulated with the cylinders of the body by means of pins.
  • Similarly, in accordance with an additional aspect of this invention, pairs of internal pins in groups of three are provided in the lower part of the body, which form an integral unit of attachment with ledges made in the lower internal part of each of the cylinders.
  • In accordance with the novel characteristics indicated above, the various sweets are stacked in a linear fashion in a column within each cylinder.
  • For a better understanding of the above, a form of practical production of the sweet display-dispenser which is the subject of the invention will be described. It must be understood that this does not constitute any limitation, of any nature whatsoever, of the sweet display-dispenser which is the subject of this application. In the drawings, the figures show :
    • - figure 1, a front view of the display-dispenser which is the subject of the present invention;
    • - figure 2, a view through cross-section B-B′ of the elevation of figure 1;
    • - figure 3, the horizontal projection of cross-section A-A′ of figure 1;
    • - figure 4, a partial cross-section through C-C′ of the horizontal projection; and
    • - figure 5, a view through cross-section D-D′ of the body and the lid shown in figure 2.
  • Referring to figure 1, in it is shown a front view of the sweet display-dispenser which is the subject of the present invention. As can be observed, the said display- dispenser is constituted by a base or stand (5), triangular in shape, with one circular side which marks the front profile of the unit. On the said base (5) is placed a main body (1) made up in its turn to five tubular cylinders (13), which are transparent and joined tangentially along their whole generatrix to form an integral body. The said tubular cylinders (13) are aligned in a circular form for their attachment to the base (5) by means of pins (6), as can be seen in figure 2. In the lower part, the cylinders (13) have windows (8) made in them for the removal of the sweets (4), which are displayed on the inside of each cylinder and which are supported on each turret (7), shown in figure 2. The set of cylinders (13) is protected or finished off in its upper part by a lid (2) which is self-centered and articulated by a hinge which attaches it permanently to the main body and which finishes off the unit in a shape similar to the base, that is, a triangular shape. The lid (2) has a semicircular front flap (3), for the identification graphics of the brand and the identification of the product.
  • As can be observed in figure 2, which is a cross-section view through line B-B′ of figure 1, the lid (2) is articulated with the cylinders (13) of the body (1) by pins (10), in such a way that the said lid can be made to tilt in the direction of arrow F and which, in this way, allows each of the cylinders (13) of the main body (1) to be filled. In this figure 2 specifically, the stacked and orderly arrangement of the various sweets with sticks in one of the cylinders (13) can be seen. As can be seen in this figure, each cylinder (13) has a window (9) provided on its rear generatrix, for the stick or handle (11) of the sweet (4) to go out through. The last sweet of the column, that is, the one which appears through the lower window (8) of the cylinder (13), is supported on a support turret (7), each of which has pins (6) which rest on ledges (15) made on each of the cylinders, thus forming an integral unit with the body (1). The pins (6) are provided in three groups of two pins each, projecting from the base or stand (5).
  • The support turrets (7), five in number, that is one for each cylinder (13), are arranged in a circular fashion and angularly equidistant.
  • Figure 3 shows a horizontal view through section A-A′ of the elevation of figure 1. As can be seen, the lid (2) is triangular in shape, on the flap (3) of which a series of zones (14) are provided, for the placing of information graphics on the brand or identification of the product. As can be seen, the bases (5) have on their rear part two projections, one male (M) and the other female (N), for the modular attachment of different bases and to form a multidisplay unit. In this figure 3 the arrangement can also be seen perfectly of the different groups of pins (6) which, with the projections of the base (5) connect with the body (1) to form an integral attachment unit with the ledges made on the inside of the cylinders (13).
  • Figure 4 shows cross-section C-C′ indicated in figure 3 above. As can be seen in this figure, the support turret (7′) goes right down to the bottom of the base (5), and in this case does not have the pins (6), and the said support turret (7′) is therefore provided for the cylinders (13), next to the central cylinder.
  • Finally, referring to figure 5, in it is shown cross-section D-D′ through figure 2. In this figure the attachment across the pins (10) of the folding lid (2) can be seen, that is the attachment of its flap (3) with the main body (1) of the sweet display-dispenser.
  • It is to be understood that the above description of one preferred form of production of the sweet display- dispenser which is the subject of this application, must in no sense have any limitative character, and it must be considered that all possible variations are within the scope of the purpose of this invention, so long as they not alter its essential nature.
