Description

Device for sterilization of liquid with ultraviolet light
The object of the invention is a device for sterilization of liquid with black light, to which device belong a frame an in the frame placed inlet pipe for liquid and a dis¬ charge pipe for liquid, as well as an inside the frame placed ultraviolet light lamp, which is arranged on a distance from the walls of the frame and the liquid is arranged to be circulated in the interspace by conduct¬ ing it through the inlet pipe inside the frame and through the discharge pipe out.
The liquids are generally purified by means of using dif¬ ferent kinds of chemicals in the water treatment. The chemicals cause, however, allergic symptoms and other kinds of detriments to a part of the people. For instance, at the chlorination of water plenty of the chlorine re¬ main in it, which is poisonous. Correspondingly, at the ozone treatment of the water according to investigations H„0„ is formed, which in its turn may be cancerogenic . For the treatment and sterilization of liquid devices have been developed, in which the liquid is circulated in the close neighbourhood of an ultraviolet light lamp, whereby the ultraviolet radiation purifies the liquid. The present devices are complicated, difficult to use and expensive.
The purpose with the invention is to bring about a device for sterilization of liquid with black light, which to its structure is simple and to its production costs more favourable than the known devices..
The aim of the invention is achieved with a device, which is characterized by that, what has been presented in the patent claims.
In a device in accordance with the invention at the spot of the inlet pipe and the discharge pipe in the frame has been arranged spaces for circulation, the diameter of which is greater than the diameter of the frame centre situated between them. The interspace is at the frame centre narrower than at the ends of the frame. The flow rate of the incoming liquid is thus higher at the centre, which promotes the efficient mixing of the liquid and its coming in touch with the ultraviolet radiation source, because the effect of the black light becomes weaker the greater the distance from the ultraviolet radiation source is.
In one application of the invention the ultraviolet light tube is straight and arranged to extend throughout the whole frame from one end of it to the other . In this case the radiation the liquid is subject to uniform on every side. Additionally, the lamp is simple to its structure, favourable in costs, easily changeable and maintained.
In the following the invention is explained in detail by referring to the attached drawing, in which figure 1 presents one application of the device in accord¬ ance with the invention for sterilization of liquid with black light in cross—section seen from the side, and figure 2 presents the device in accordance with figure 1 seen from the end.
In the application presented in the figures to the device belong the frame 1 , into which have been placed the inlet pipe 2 of the liquid and the discharge pipe 3 of the liquid. Inside the frame has been placed within a quartz glass tube 7 an ultraviolet light tube 4. The quartz glass tube and the ultraviolet light tube are straight tubes and extend from the one end of the frame to the other end.
In figure 1 is presented an intersection of the structure of the device halved, and in the figure is shown the inlet pipe 2 side part of the device. The part of the discharge pipe side corresponds to its structure the one presented on the figure and is its mirror image
In the frame on the spot of the inlet pipe and the dis¬ charge pipe are formed the spaces for circulation 5 and the frame is designed in such a way, that at the spot of the spaces for circulation the diameter of the frame is essentially greater than at the spot of the frame centre 6. The inlet pipe and the discharge pipe are placed ec¬ centrically in regard of the frame.
With the eccentric location of the inlet pipe and the discharge pipe the liquid is made to circulate around the ultraviolet light lamp in a screw-formed rotational way. Between the pipes a difference in pressure has been ar- ranged, as a consequence of which the mixing of the liquid is made complete and the effect of the lamp is taken into a maximum use. In addition to the device belong the con¬ nection pieces 8 for connecting of the frame tightly to the quartz glass tube.
The invention is not limited to the presented application, but it can vary within the frames of the patent claims.
