Claims (6)

  1. A rotary printing press with one or more impression cylinders (1, 1') and with several printing units (3, 3') with one inking roller each and a continuous printing band (4) running over several rollers (5 to 8), whereof one can be applied against the associated impression cylinder,

    characterized in that

    the printing band (4) of each printing unit (3, 3') runs over four rollers (5, 6, 7, 8) which, in a side view, are mounted in the corners of a square or of a parallelogram, and whereof two diametrically opposed rollers (7, 8) can be applied against the inking roller or a printing band and against the impression cylinder (1, 1'), and the other two diametrically opposed rollers (5, 6) are tension rollers mounted in guide-ways and can be moved towards and away from each other by drives.
  2. A rotary printing press according to claim 1, characterized in that the centre lines of the bearings of the rollers (5 to 8) form in a side view a parallelogram with sides of equal or different lengths.
  3. A rotary printing press according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the rollers are mounted in lateral rigidly interconnected bearing plates (9, 10) which cannot be rotated with respect to the printing unit frame or the printing unit carriage, but are laterally displaceable.
  4. A rotary printing press according to claim 3, characterized in that for the setting of the side adjuster, provision is made for a device (18, 19) laterally adjusting the bearing plates (9, 10).
  5. A rotary printing press according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that on a journal (28) of one of the rollers (7), a gear wheel (25) is mounted for axial displacement but secured against rotation, which meshes with the helical teeth of a central gear wheel (24) driving the impression cylinder or cylinders, that on a pin (13) fixed to the frame a bush (20) is carried secured against rotation but for axial displacement and is connected to a finger or plate (27) which engages in an annular groove of the hub (26) of the gear wheel (25), and that provision is made for an adjustment device (21) for the axial displacement of the bush (20).
  6. A rotary printing press according to claim 5, characterized in that on the bush (20) a formatting wheel (23) is mounted for rotation but secured against axial displacement which meshes with the central gear wheel (24) and the drive gear wheel of the inking roller, and whose hub carries the plate (27) which engages in the annular groove of the hub of the gear wheel (25).
