Description

The present invention relates to a toilet seat for a toilet, and more particularly to a toilet seat comprising a seat and a cover, according to the preamble of the claim.

In traditional designs, the toilet seats are articulated on the rear part of the bowl, with permanent fixing by means of bolts. This results in a great difficulty in cleaning the flap, because there are thus parts which are very difficult to access, and that disassembly followed by reassembly would constitute a long and inconvenient operation.

Des exemples de ce genre de réalisations sont fournis par les documents EP-A-0225427, EP-A-0014325 et US-A-4680816.In order to avoid these drawbacks and to facilitate cleaning, toilet seats have already been proposed which include a quick fixing device, allowing relatively easy disassembly and replacement of the articulated elements, namely the window of a hand, and the cover on the other hand. Examples of this kind of embodiment are provided by documents EP-A-0225427, EP-A-0014325 and US-A-4680816.

In certain known embodiments of the preceding genre, the bezel and the cover are articulated, on a fixed base, around two respective parallel and distinct axes. The quick fastening device must therefore be, in this case, a double device.

In other embodiments also known, in particular according to the aforementioned document US-A-4680816, the bezel and the cover are pivotally mounted about a common articulation axis. This document shows an embodiment in which a base, fixed to the rear part of the toilet bowl, is constituted by a single piece provided with seats making it possible to pre-position the seat and the cover. However, in this embodiment also, the bezel is not secured to the cover.

On the other hand, document US-A-3261029 describes a flap comprising a base fixed to the rear of the toilet bowl and receiving removably, by means of a quick fixing device, a hinged window and cover about a common transverse axis, the telescope and the cover being hinged together along this axis by a hinge consisting of two tubular axes which permanently link the telescope with the cover. The fast mounting of the bezel-cover assembly on the base is effected by means of two pins movable in opposite directions, allowing the locking or unlocking of the tubular axes. The removal of the bezel-cover assembly is thus done without separating the bezel from the cover, which can facilitate disassembly and repositioning operations, the bezel and the cover forming a single assembly that can be easily handled.

However, in the known embodiment according to document US-A-3261029, each of the two movable pins is integral with a rack, the two racks engaging with a pinion linked to a rotary drive head. The actuation of the drive head requires an appropriate tool. In addition, access to this drive head can be difficult since it is turned towards the rear of the bowl. Finally, it is a rather complicated mechanical achievement, with gears and rotating elements.

The present invention avoids these drawbacks, by providing an improved structure allowing disassembly and replacement of the bezel-cover assembly which are particularly easy and rapid, without the need for a tool and without difficulty of access, and by a device. simple and mechanically resistant that can be actuated directly.

To this end, in the toilet seat for the toilet according to the invention, the fixed base is constituted by a single piece in the form of a plate carrying bearings capable of receiving the two tubular axes by which the seat and the cover are articulated. between them, and this fixed base comprises, towards its ends, slides provided for two sliding parts for quick locking, each of these sliding parts being provided with a small axis which is capable of being inserted in the axial orifice of the 'one of the two tubular axes by which the bezel and the cover are hinged together. Thus, a simple movement of translation of the locking parts, in one direction or the other, movement perfectly guided by the slides of the base, makes it possible to release the bezel-cover assembly to proceed with its removal, or to lock again this assembly on the base.

  • Figure 1 est une vue en perspective d'une cuvette de W.C. équipée d'un abattant conforme à l'invention;

  • Figure 8 is a partial longitudinal section of the flap, according to VIII-VIII of Figure 6;
  • Figure 9 is a sectional view along IX-IX of Figure 7.

Une embase fixe 6 est fixée transversalement à demeure, au moyen de boulons 7, sur la partie arrière de la cuvette 2 percée d'orifices verticaux, et l'embase 6 reçoit, au moyen d'un dispositif de verrouillage rapide comportant deux pièces coulissantes 8, l'ensemble constitué par la lunette 3, par son couvercle 4, et par leur articulation 5.Referring to Figures 1 to 9, the flap designated as a whole by 1, which is intended to equip a toilet bowl indicated in 2, conventionally comprises a window 3 and a cover 4 which are articulated on the rear part of the bowl 2, and which are also articulated together, around a hinge or transverse rear articulation 5, in one or two parts. A fixed base 6 is fixed transversely permanently, by means of bolts 7, on the rear part of the bowl 2 pierced with vertical orifices, and the base 6 receives, by means of a quick locking device comprising two parts 8, the assembly consisting of the bezel 3, its cover 4, and their articulation 5.

The base 6 is shown alone in Figure 3. It is in the general form of an elongated rectangular plate 9 which is pierced with four longitudinal slots 10 each capable of receiving a bolt 7 for fixing to the bowl, for example a wing nut bolt 11. As an alternative, it is possible to replace the wing nut bolt 7 11 with an ordinary screw and nut bolt, with a quick pitch nut with locking from above, or even more advantageously with a swelling bolt nut, offering the advantage of easy mounting, since it is carried out only from above.

The openings 10 are formed in the two end parts 12, 13 of the plate 9 and these end parts 12, 13 are shaped to have longitudinal recesses 14 which form receiving slides for the sliding parts for quick locking 8 mentioned above.

The upper face of the plate 9 carries two pairs of bearings 15, 16 which are themselves slightly spaced from each other. These pairs of bearings 15, 16 are each intended to receive one of the two circular axes 17 which, together, constitute the hinge 5 or hinged joint (see FIGS. 5 to 7). It is important to note here that the bezel 3 and the cover 4 remain permanently attached to one another, by means of the two tubular axes 17.

Each of the two locking pieces 8 comprises two lateral grooves 18, capable of cooperating with the above-mentioned slides 14, and a small protruding central axis 19 which is intended to be inserted in the axial orifice 17a of the corresponding tubular axis 17, to ensure rapid locking of this hinge pin - see in particular Figures 4 and 5.

L'abattant est alors en position d'utilisation courante, la lunette 3 et le couvercle 4 pouvant pivoter séparément autour de leur articulation commune 5.The use of this flap 1 will now be explained with reference to FIGS. 1, 2, 6 and 7. In the normal position of use (FIG. 6), the two sliding parts 8 are threaded fully onto the slides 14, so that their two central axes 19 are fully engaged in the associated tubular axes 17, which secures the bezel-cover assembly 3, 4 with the fixed base 6. The flap is then in the position of current use, the bezel 3 and the cover 4 which can pivot separately around their common articulation 5.

When it is desired to clean the lens-cover assembly 3, 4 and the base 6, the two locking pieces 8 are laterally slid, without necessarily removing them but so as to completely extract their axes 19 from the tubular axes associated 17. The lens-cover assembly 3, 4 is then unlocked and can be removed by lifting, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 7. The replacement of this assembly is of course carried out by reverse operations, a device for coding (not shown) may be provided to facilitate the exact positioning of the tubular axes 17 on the associated bearings 15, 16.

It is understood that in the embodiment described, there is the advantage that the bezel 3 and the cover 4 remain permanently linked in an articulated manner, in particular when they are removed and put back in place on the base 6 this which greatly facilitates handling. In addition, it should be noted that the permanent connection of the telescope 3 and the cover 4 by means of tubular axes 17, provided to rest on bearings 15, 16 leads to an advantageous achievement from the mechanical point of view, the forces being exerted on these pads and not being transmitted by the small axes 19 of small section.
