Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a flat knitting machine with needle beds arranged opposite one another and with knitting needles arranged in needle channels of the needle beds, which are held lying on the needle channel base by means of needle cover rails extending transversely to the needle channels.
Each flat knitting machine has more or fewer knitting needles depending on the needle pitch and the working width. These knitting needles, with which stitches are knitted or loops are to be transferred, must be properly guided in their needle channels. This is particularly important when putting on fine knitting needles, i.e. with knitting needles, for example, from the fineness E12. The knitting needles must lie on the needle channel base so that selected knitting needles can be threaded with their small needle hooks into stitches submitted for transfer and so that, if the needle head is closed, the stitch to be transferred opens the needle tongue of the knitting needle that is to be taken over.
A sum of manufacturing tolerances does not always guarantee this. The knitting needles, which are held in the needle channel base by the needle cover rail, have different tolerance clearances across the working width. The greatest tolerance game - maximum about 0.1 mm - can be so large that empty knitting needles, which are supposed to take over stitches, do not lie on the needle channel base, but lie down on the needle cover rail and then no longer take over the stitches presented in this position with certainty.
The invention has for its object to provide a flat knitting machine of the type described above, in which an extensive compensation of manufacturing tolerances of the type mentioned and accordingly a safe, flawless guiding of the knitting needles lying on the needle channel base is possible.
This object is achieved in that spring means are provided under the needle cover rail and over the knitting needles along the needle cover rail. The spring means advantageously consist of a hard spring band on the knitting needles and an elastically resilient steel band arched in profile over the spring band.
With a tolerance compensation device designed in this way, the knitting needles, regardless of different tolerance clearances, are always pressed securely onto the needle channel base, and it is possible to transfer stitches perfectly and safely with any desired fineness of the needles. The resilient steel band completely compensates for tolerance play across the working width by pressing the knitting needles onto the needle channel base.
The spring band can expediently be a naturally hard or a hardened spring band.
A longitudinal recess in which the spring means are arranged is advantageously provided on the underside of the needle cover rail.
The longitudinal recess in the needle cover rail expediently has a substantially U-shaped cross section.
An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 of the drawing shows a partial cross section through a needle bed with spring means according to the invention.
Nadelhaken 5 bilden zusammen mit Nadelzungen 6 die Nadelköpfe der Stricknadeln 4.The needle bed 1 shown in the drawing has needle channels 2. Knitting needles 4 lying on the needle channel base 3 are arranged in the needle channels 2.
Arranged above the knitting needles 4 in the needle bed 1 is a needle cover rail 7 which runs transversely to the needle channels 2 and which holds the knitting needles 4 lying and sliding on the needle channel base 3.
In the underside of the needle cover rail 7 there is a
The
It can therefore no longer occur that empty knitting needles 4, which are supposed to take over stitches, do not lie on their needle channel base 3, but instead lie on the needle cover rail 7 and then in this position do not take over the stitch provided with certainty.
Also when hanging with fine knitting needles 4, e.g. From the fineness E12, the knitting needles 4 selected for taking over will be able to thread perfectly with their
