Definitions
- the present invention relates to an automatic burner control according to the preamble of the main claim.
- Such burner controls have been used in particular on gas-heated devices, they serve to switch off the gas supply to the gas-heated device if the presence of a flame on the gas burner has not been reported within a certain time after the gas supply has been released by the solenoid valve.
- the safety time was defined by an electrically heated bimetallic element, which switched off the gas supply after a time laid down in the relevant standards. Due to the tolerances of the bimetal element and the tolerances of the supply voltages, the safety time fluctuates considerably.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of using elements of a microprocessor to build an automatic burner control and at the same time drawing the tolerances of the safety time as closely as possible.
- 1 means a gas-heated device which essentially consists of a heat exchanger 2 and a gas burner 3. Instead of a gas burner, an oil burner could also be used if the necessary elements are modified accordingly.
- a return line 4 and a flow line 6 provided with a temperature sensor 5 are connected to the heat exchanger.
- the heat rope shear is used to feed any heat sink. Instead of a circulation water heater, a continuous water heater or a storage tank could also be used.
- the burner 3 is fed via a gas line 8 provided with a solenoid valve 7.
- the gas solenoid valve 7 has a solenoid 9 which is fed from an electrical line 10 which forms the outlet of an automatic burner control 11.
- the burner control for example according to DIN 4788, is designed as a two-channel microcomputer system. It essentially has a first microcomputer 12 and a microcomputer 13. Associated with each of the two is a separate timer 14 or 15, the timers themselves being part of the microprocessors.
- the flow temperature sensor 5 is connected to the inputs of the microcomputers via a line 16 and a flame monitoring electrode 18 is connected via a line 17.
- An ignition device 26 is controlled by the microprocessors via a common line 19 and feeds the ignition electrode 20, which is assigned to the gas burner 3, via line 27.
- the output 44 of this AND element forms the other input 45 of the AND element 35, the output of which is led via a line 46 to a first divider stage 47, which divides the frequency of the oscillator down in a ratio of 1: 1.
- the oscillator frequency is chosen to be 10 Hertz. For example, if the oscillator frequency were 100 Hertz, that would be Division ratio of the divider 47 be 1:10 and so on.
- An output line 48 of the divider stage 47 is connected to an up-count input 49 of a counter 50. At point 51, line 21 or 22 not only branches into line 41, but also into another line 52, which leads to a further branch 53.
- An output 63 of the und element is connected to a third divider stage 64, the output 65 of which leads to an erase input 66 of the counter 50.
- the divider stage 64 has a division ratio of 1:10. At an oscillator frequency of 10 Hertz, this means that every tenth pulse is passed or that the Frequency is 1 Hertz. For example, if the frequency of the oscillator is 100 Hertz or even higher, every tenth pulse will pass. In the example assumed, the pulse voltage on line 65 is 1 Hertz.
- the flip-flop 72 is switched in its rest position such that there is no voltage at the output 74.
- This signal is converted by the negated input of the AND element 76, so that its output, that is, the line 21 or 22 carries voltage.
- the comparator 68 After the time of 10 seconds, the comparator 68, on which this safety time is set via the transmitter 69, reports that the time is the same, that is, the safety time has expired. If at this point in time no flame has been reported - which must be assumed according to what has just been described - the flip-flop 72 is set via the output 70, so that the gate 76 is reset, which closes the gas valve again. However, if a flame message appears during the running of the safety time of ten seconds, this appears via the sensor 18 on line 17. This means that the gate 42 is blocked, this locks the gate 35, so that after the flame signal appears, the stage 47 can no longer share pulses and the counter at its up-count input 49 can no longer count pulses.
- the comparator can thus not report a comparison status, so that the AND element 76 remains conductive, so that the gas solenoid valve 7/9 remains open. At the same time, however, the flame message is also on line 17, which leads to the input 62 of third third element 41. Since all 3 inputs 40, 61 and 62 of the underside 41 are now live, the divider stage 64 comes into action, which after a second has the extinguishing function gear 66 of the counter actuated. In this way, the pulses enumerated by the divider stage 47 are deleted and the counter status is returned to zero.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an automatic burner control according to the preamble of the main claim.
Such burner controls have been used in particular on gas-heated devices, they serve to switch off the gas supply to the gas-heated device if the presence of a flame on the gas burner has not been reported within a certain time after the gas supply has been released by the solenoid valve. The safety time was defined by an electrically heated bimetallic element, which switched off the gas supply after a time laid down in the relevant standards. Due to the tolerances of the bimetal element and the tolerances of the supply voltages, the safety time fluctuates considerably.
On the other hand, it has become common in recent years to control gas-heated devices using microprocessors. It made sense to include the use of microprocessors in the considerations of gas burner control systems as well. Difficulties arise in that the test regulations applicable to thermal time elements are not readily transferable to microprocessors. An applicable standard requires safety standards for the microprocessor in the area of the burner control, which can practically only be achieved with a two-channel structure.
The present invention is therefore based on the object of using elements of a microprocessor to build an automatic burner control and at the same time drawing the tolerances of the safety time as closely as possible.
The problem is solved with the characterizing features of the main claim.
This design provides the advantage that the timer for the automatic firing device, which is usually present in any case in a microcomputer, can also be used, so that a separate timer is therefore spared. The design of the counter as up and down counting has the further advantage that the Si safety time not inadmissibly increased and that the full safety time is available after a successful ignition process with renewed heat request.
Further refinements and particularly advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the subclaims or emerge from the following description which explains an exemplary embodiment of the invention with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawing.
- Figure 1 is a schematic block diagram of the invention and the
- Figure 2 shows the timer as a separate block diagram.
In beiden Figuren bedeuten gleiche Bezugszeichen jeweils die gleichen Einzelheiten. In both figures, the same reference numerals denote the same details.
In FIG. 1, 1 means a gas-heated device which essentially consists of a
The gas solenoid valve 7 has a
Im angenommenen Beispiel beträgt also die Impulsspannung auf der Leitung 65 1 Hertz.FIG. 2 shows a quasi-circuit which is actually constructed as a microprocessor circuit or as a software program of a microprocessor. The elements used in FIG. 2 could, however, also be constructed in such a way that the circuit would then look approximately as follows and operate as described below. Each of the two
It is assumed from the idle state, that is to say that the circuit according to FIG. 2 is connected to a supply voltage, so that the
When a heat request signal appears, that is to say when the temperature value, measured by
The entire safety time of ten seconds is therefore available for a new ignition process.
The time of one second may have to be varied according to the device conditions of the heat source, it being essentially a matter of the fact that the escaping gas is also fully burned. Since a pulse is only given to the
In the event that no flame had been reported during the safety time, this would mean that the counter would have reached the counter reading 100 via the up-
If for some reason the ignition process is interrupted during the course of the safety time, for example due to a control shutdown or some other intervention, the
