Abstract

The razor comprises a handle (1) and a removable head (3) which are coupled by means of a slide coupling. The handle and the head comprise each stop means (4, 5) which limit, when entering in contact with each other, the relative displacement between the handle and the head during their coupling in a position for which the head is centered on said handle and preventing any additional relative displacement in the same direction of said head and said handle.

Description

The present invention relates to a mechanical razor with removable head for example as described in PCT application WO 87/00113, US patents 4,612,704, 4,182,031, 4,272,886, 3,967,375, which comprises a handle provided at one of its ends of a slide allowing the removable fixing of a head provided with cutting blades which comprises members corresponding to said slides.

In embodiments such as that illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 of WO 87/00113, the correct positioning of the head relative to the handle in the service position is obtained almost automatically. Indeed, when the user threads the slide of the handle laterally in the corresponding organs of the head, located in a box, the correct position is reached when the T-shaped handle abuts against the side wall of the box containing the heads .

On the other hand, as soon as the razor handle no longer has the shape of a T or that the removable heads are no longer contained in a display unit ensuring by its side wall the fixing in the correct service position of this head on the handle, the user has great difficulty in centering the blade on the handle. He also risks cutting his fingers by wanting to correct a bad position of the head since he must grasp this head with the cutting blades.

The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback by producing a razor of the aforementioned type comprising means allowing the automatic positioning of the head in the service position on the handle.

The razor according to the present invention has the characteristics described and claimed below.

The accompanying drawing illustrates schematically and by way of example several embodiments of the razor according to the invention.

Figures 1 and 2 illustrate two first embodiments of the razor seen partially and in perspective.

Figures 3 and 4 illustrate a third respectively a fourth embodiment of the razor seen in partial elevation on the handle side.

The first embodiment of the mechanical razor with removable head illustrated in FIG. 1 comprises a handle in the general shape of an L having a gripping rod 1 and a front end 2 comprising the slide to couple it to the removable head 3, bearing the cutting blades, and provided with the formations corresponding to the guides of the handle for its fixing thereon.

The front end 2 of the handle has a wall 4 which, when the head 3 is in the service position centered on the rod 1 of the handle, abuts against the end wall 5 of said head 3 and thus positively fixes this relative position of the handle and of the head.

The head 3 being introduced and fixed in the slide of the front part 2 of the handle by a movement from left to right according to the arrow f, its straight front wall 5 abuts against the internal face of the wall 4 of the front end 2 of the handle preventing any subsequent relative movement between the handle and the head in this direction and thus delimiting positively and without possible overshoot the centered service position of head on the handle.

Pour séparer la tête 3 du manche 1,2 il suffit à l'utilisateur de déplacer la tête 3 par rapport au manche 1,2 dans le sens contraire à la flèche f.To separate the head 3 from the handle 1,2, the user only has to move the head 3 relative to the handle 1,2 in the opposite direction to the arrow f.

This stop or stop system also has the advantage, in particular with respect to spring snap devices which have been proposed, of not being dependent on the lubrication carried out by the shaving foam and of always providing a positioning exact and final.

In the second embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2, the handle also has the general shape of an L, the rod 1 carrying a front part 2 provided with the slide for coupling to a head 3 provided with cutting blades. The slide of the front part 2 cooperates with the corresponding formations or nipples 6,6′6˝ for fixing the head 3 on the handle 1,2. These nipples are molded with the head.

In this embodiment, the straight part of the slide of the front end 2 of the handle has a solid part 7 whose edge located in the direction of the rod 1 of the handle constitutes a stop coming into contact with the edge of the stud 6 of the head. 3. The position of the edge of the solid part 7 is defined so that when it abuts against the stud 6 the head 3 is in the service position centered on the rod 1 of the handle. The functioning of this embodiment is the same as that of the first embodiment, the introduction of the head 3 on the handle 1,2 also being effected by a displacement of the latter according to the arrow f.

In the third embodiment, illustrated in FIG. 3, the razor comprises an I-shaped handle being 8, the front end of which comprises a slide 9 cooperating with corresponding formations or nipples 10 of the head 3. Here also the slide 9 has a solid part 11, the left face of which comes, in the centered service position of the head 3, to abut against the right face of the stud 10 and thus constitutes means for stopping the head in this centered position.

In the embodiment illustrated in Figure 4 the razor handle has the shape of a large I 8 whose front part has a slide 9 cooperating with pins 10, 10 ′, 10˝ of the head 3. Here also the right part of the slide 9 is full and thus defines a stop 11 cooperating with the pin 10 of the head 3 to limit the relative movement of the handle 8 on the head 3 and positively define the centered service position of the latter.

Variations of this device for stopping the movement of the head on the handle of the razor can be imagined endlessly, the originality of this system lies in the fact that there is blocking or complete stopping of the relative movement of the head by relative to the razor handle when it reaches its centered service position, this position cannot be exceeded. It is therefore imperative in the razor according to the invention that the removal of the head is effected by a movement relative to the handle in a direction opposite to that used to couple the head to the handle.

The stop means which the handle and the head comprise and whose contacting defines the centered service position of the head on the handle can be affixed anywhere on the handle and the head, provided that their positions are such that they stop the sliding of the head on the handle when the latter reaches its centered service position. More particularly, particularly in the case of embodiments in which the handle has the shape of an I (Figures 3 and 4), the stop means can also be provided completely independently of the slides.
