Abstract

The stick comprises a screw point (1) in the shape of a cochlea (3), of a diameter slightly greater than the one of the stick, for penetrating in the soil by means of the application of a rotating means with two lever arms (10) or (15), consisting of a piston-pin (9) that may be inserted in a hole (8) provided in the upper part of the stick or, in a variant, of a poligolan key (14) that may be applied on a metal ring (13) out of one piece with said stick. Said piston-pin (9) as well as key (14) are mounted, in their resting position, on the upper part of the stick by means of two latches (12) or (12′).

Description

  • The present invention concerns a stick for sunshades with an autopenetrating point for shores, meadows and generally non-rocky soils.
  • Everybody has ever used a sunshade of the kind usually employed on a shore, known the difficulties encountered for making penetrate the point of the sunshade that much that confers the sunshade itself the requested stability. Infact, even to get in the point into the sand (which is the less compact soil), it is necessary to make the stick perform fatiguing conical rotating movements with a contemporary downward push. Furthermore, said rotating movement creates a cone-shaped area of removed sand which, successively, offers little resistance and support to said stick.
  • It is the object of the present invention to provide a sunshade stick provided with a screw-point and with an operating means that allows to easily and quickly fit in the stick in shores and in any kind of non-rocky soil, and to obtain a high resistance to extraction, e.g. by the wind.
  • The aim set forth is reached according to the present invention by forming the lower pointed end of the stick like a screw in the shape of a cochlea, i.e. with a thread of a considerable height and with an acute angle generatrix, having its vertex on the circumference.
  • Furthermore, the diameter and the circumference of the cochlea or screw are slightly greater that the diameter and circumference of the stick so that the core of the cochlea is not too this with an eventual damage, when under stress, of said screw in the rotating penetration movement.
  • For this purpose, a hole is provided on the upper part of the sunshade stick, somewhat below the cap cavity in which the lower end of the upper part of the stick is housed, i.e. that part that carries the cloth sunshade; in that hole a correspondig piston-pin will be fitted that will allow to easily impart to the stick the rotating movement around its own axis necessary to make the screw point penetrate the soil.
  • In a possible variant of the present invention, a poligonal metal ring is provided on the upper part of the sunshade stick, nearby said cup cavity, on which metal ring a corresponding, double handle "key" is engaged which allows, like in the precedent variant, to impart to the stick the rotating movement for the penetrating of the screw point in the soil.
  • The object of the present invention will be now described more in detail referring to the attached drawings, in which:
    • figure 1, shows an elevated view of the main parts of the stick according to the present invention, i.e. of the point and of the upper part, the central part being omitted;
    • figure 2, shows a top view of the operating piston-pin inserted in the stick;
    • figure 3, shows, in a reduced scale, the fitting of the piston-pin on the stick;
    • figure 4, shows, in an even more reduced scale, the complete sunshade fitted in the soil;
    • figure 5, shows a variant of the point operated by a key;
    • figure 6, shows a top view of the operating key;
    • figure 7, shows the fitting of the key on the stick;
    • figure 8, shows the variant of the sunshade of figures 5, 6 and 7, fitted in the soil.
  • The figures show a sunshade stick with an autopenetrating point for shores, meadows and generally non-rocky soils, mainly comprosing the point or end 1 of stick 2 being provided with a helical screw thread 3 of acute triangular shape with the vertex on the circumference similar to a cochlea.
  • Furthermore, on upper part 4, somewhat below the cup cavity 5 for the housing of the stick's upper end 6 carrying the cloth sunshade 7, a hole 8 is provided in which a piston-pin 9 will fit having a diameter identical to the one of said hole 8, and said piston-pin will be long enough to form two opposite operating arms 10.
  • As it is evident, the sunshade stick according to the present invention may easily penetrate a soil T (figure 4) pushing in the same the point 11 and imparting to the same a rotating movement by means of the piston-pin 9 forming the two arms 10.
  • It shall be noted that according to the present invention, two latches 12 may be provided on the upper part of stick 2, in which said piston-pin may be fitted as shown in figures 3 and 4.
  • In the variant according to figures 5, 6, 7 and 8, on the upper part 4 of stick 2, just below the cup cavity 5, a poligonal metal ring 13 is provided, having a slightly greater, circular base thrust bearing 16, on which the operating key 14 iwll rest. The shape and the dimension of the poligonal metal ring 13 are identical to the inner shape and dimension of a key 14 having two opposite operating arms 15.
  • As it is evident, the sunshade stick according to the present invention may easily penetrate a soil T, fitting in it ist point 11 and imparting to said stick a rotating movement by means of a key 14, making use of arms 15 of the same.
  • Also for this last variant, the present invention provides two latches 12' on the upper part of stick 2 for fixing arms 15 of operating key 14.

Claims (8)

1. A sunshade stick having a screw point and provided with a two arms lever means that may be applied to said stick, which allows to fit the same quickly on a shore or in soils of any kind, but non-rocky, and to obtain a high resistance to the extraction of the same, e.g. by the wind.
2. A sunshade stick according to claim 1, characterized in that the point has the shape of a cochlea screw having a thread of a considerable height and acute angle generatrix with the vertex on the winding circumference of said thread.
3. A sunshade stick according to claim 1, characterized in that the diameter and the circumference of said screw cochlea are slightly greater that the diameter and the circumference of the stick so that the core of the cochlea is not too thin with an eventual damage, when under stress, to said screw in the rotating penetration movement.
4. A sunshade stick according to claim 1, characterized in that on the upper part (4) of said stick (2), somewhat below the cup cavity in which the lower end of the upper part of the stick carrying the cloth sunshade is housed, a hole is provided in which the operating means is fitted, said means consisting of a piston-pin which, when entering, forma a double handle which allows to easily impart to the stick the rotating movement around its own axis, necessary to make the point penetrate the soil.
5. A sunshade stick according to claim 1, characterized in that two latches are provided on the upper part thereof, mounted at a suitable distance, for keeping and fixing said piston-pin when the sunshade is in the mounted or in the resting position.
6. A sunshade stick according to claim 1, characterized in that a poligonal metal ring is provided on the upper part of said stick near said cup cavity, on which a corresponding operating means is engaged consisting of a poligonal double handle key that allows to easily impart to said stick the rotating movement around its own axis necessary for making the point penetrate the soil.
7. A sunshade stick according to claim 1, characterized in that a thrust bearing with a circular diameter sector being somewhat greater than the metal ring is provided on the upper part of said stick, just at the base of said poligolan metal ring, said thrust bearing being out of one piece with said metal ring, and on the sector whereof the double handle poligonal key will rest, wherein said thrust bearing has the purpose of not making the key slide down beyond the poligonal metal ring during the downward performed pressure.
8. A sunshade stick according to claim 1, characterized in that on the upper part thereof two latches are provided, mounted at a suitable distance, for keeping and fixing said key when said sunshade is in the mounted or in the resting position.
