Abstract
The stick comprises a screw point (1) in the shape of a cochlea (3), of a diameter slightly greater than the one of the stick, for penetrating in the soil by means of the application of a rotating means with two lever arms (10) or (15), consisting of a piston-pin (9) that may be inserted in a hole (8) provided in the upper part of the stick or, in a variant, of a poligolan key (14) that may be applied on a metal ring (13) out of one piece with said stick. Said piston-pin (9) as well as key (14) are mounted, in their resting position, on the upper part of the stick by means of two latches (12) or (12′).
Description
- The present invention concerns a stick for sunshades with an autopenetrating point for shores, meadows and generally non-rocky soils.
- Everybody has ever used a sunshade of the kind usually employed on a shore, known the difficulties encountered for making penetrate the point of the sunshade that much that confers the sunshade itself the requested stability. Infact, even to get in the point into the sand (which is the less compact soil), it is necessary to make the stick perform fatiguing conical rotating movements with a contemporary downward push. Furthermore, said rotating movement creates a cone-shaped area of removed sand which, successively, offers little resistance and support to said stick.
- It is the object of the present invention to provide a sunshade stick provided with a screw-point and with an operating means that allows to easily and quickly fit in the stick in shores and in any kind of non-rocky soil, and to obtain a high resistance to extraction, e.g. by the wind.
- The aim set forth is reached according to the present invention by forming the lower pointed end of the stick like a screw in the shape of a cochlea, i.e. with a thread of a considerable height and with an acute angle generatrix, having its vertex on the circumference.
- Furthermore, the diameter and the circumference of the cochlea or screw are slightly greater that the diameter and circumference of the stick so that the core of the cochlea is not too this with an eventual damage, when under stress, of said screw in the rotating penetration movement.
- For this purpose, a hole is provided on the upper part of the sunshade stick, somewhat below the cap cavity in which the lower end of the upper part of the stick is housed, i.e. that part that carries the cloth sunshade; in that hole a correspondig piston-pin will be fitted that will allow to easily impart to the stick the rotating movement around its own axis necessary to make the screw point penetrate the soil.
- In a possible variant of the present invention, a poligonal metal ring is provided on the upper part of the sunshade stick, nearby said cup cavity, on which metal ring a corresponding, double handle "key" is engaged which allows, like in the precedent variant, to impart to the stick the rotating movement for the penetrating of the screw point in the soil.
- The object of the present invention will be now described more in detail referring to the attached drawings, in which:
- figure 1, shows an elevated view of the main parts of the stick according to the present invention, i.e. of the point and of the upper part, the central part being omitted;
- figure 2, shows a top view of the operating piston-pin inserted in the stick;
- figure 3, shows, in a reduced scale, the fitting of the piston-pin on the stick;
- figure 4, shows, in an even more reduced scale, the complete sunshade fitted in the soil;
- figure 5, shows a variant of the point operated by a key;
- figure 6, shows a top view of the operating key;
- figure 7, shows the fitting of the key on the stick;
- figure 8, shows the variant of the sunshade of figures 5, 6 and 7, fitted in the soil.
- The figures show a sunshade stick with an autopenetrating point for shores, meadows and generally non-rocky soils, mainly comprosing the point or
end 1 ofstick 2 being provided with ahelical screw thread 3 of acute triangular shape with the vertex on the circumference similar to a cochlea. - Furthermore, on
upper part 4, somewhat below thecup cavity 5 for the housing of the stick'supper end 6 carrying thecloth sunshade 7, ahole 8 is provided in which a piston-pin 9 will fit having a diameter identical to the one of saidhole 8, and said piston-pin will be long enough to form two opposite operatingarms 10. - As it is evident, the sunshade stick according to the present invention may easily penetrate a soil T (figure 4) pushing in the same the
point 11 and imparting to the same a rotating movement by means of the piston-pin 9 forming the twoarms 10. - It shall be noted that according to the present invention, two
latches 12 may be provided on the upper part ofstick 2, in which said piston-pin may be fitted as shown in figures 3 and 4. - In the variant according to figures 5, 6, 7 and 8, on the
upper part 4 ofstick 2, just below thecup cavity 5, apoligonal metal ring 13 is provided, having a slightly greater, circular base thrust bearing 16, on which theoperating key 14 iwll rest. The shape and the dimension of thepoligonal metal ring 13 are identical to the inner shape and dimension of akey 14 having two opposite operatingarms 15. - As it is evident, the sunshade stick according to the present invention may easily penetrate a soil T, fitting in it ist
point 11 and imparting to said stick a rotating movement by means of akey 14, making use ofarms 15 of the same. - Also for this last variant, the present invention provides two latches 12' on the upper part of
stick 2 for fixingarms 15 ofoperating key 14.
Claims (8)
