Description
La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de broyage fin de minéraux consistant à soumettre une couche du produit à broyer à une compression entre deux cylindres à axes parallèles, tournant en sens inverses et poussés élastiquement l'un vers l'autre. Dans ce mode de fonctionnement du broyeur à cylindres, dit à alimentation forcée, on règle l'écartement des cylindres à une valeur faible et on alimente le broyeur avec un débit égal à plusieurs fois le débit théorique correspondant à cet écartement. La matière ainsi forcée entre les cylindres provoque leur déplacement au prix d'une surcharge de la pression des ressorts d'autant plus grande que le débit de matière est plus important. Il y a alors compactage et autobroyage au sein de la couche de matière et production d'un grand pourcentage de particules nettement plus fines que celles qui seraient obtenues par un broyage grain par grain avec le même écartement des cylindres. Claims (4)
- Minerals fine-grinding process consisting in subjecting a layer of material to be ground to a compression between two parallel axis rolls which rotate in opposite directions and are elastically pushed toward each other, insuring a forced feed of the rolls, characterized in that the ground material is maintained under pressure in the space delimited by the rolls (10, 12) just below the fictitious plane (X - X) containing the axes of the rolls.
- Grinding process according to claim 1, characterized in that the said pressure is generated by closing the bottom of the said space so as to leave only a small size outlet for the ground products.
- Grinding process according to claim 2, characterized in that the ground products are partly recycled between the rolls (10, 12).
- Grinding mill for implementing the process according to claim 1, 2 or 3, including two horizontal and parallel his rolls (10, 12) which rotate in opposite directions and are elastically pushed toward each other, and means allowing a forced feed between the rolls, characterized in that it includes also a roller (14) whose diameter is significantly smaller than that of the rolls and which is placed below the rolls, parallely to the latter, and in that the said roller is situated near the roll which rotates in the same direction as it and is pushed by elastic means toward the other roll, so as to close the bottom of the space delimited by the two rolls, just below the plane containing their axes, and to press on the ground material flowing between the said other roll and the roller, that small cross-section passage constituting the only outlet for the ground material enclosed in the said space.
