Anmeldung von Schutzbegehren und Patentanspruch gemäß den bisher vorgelegten Unterlagen in der dem Patentwerber erst nach erfolgter Vorprüfung zur Kenntnis gebrachten Form für das im folgenden "Judo-Ball" genannte Objekt:Registration of protection requests and patent claims in accordance with the documents submitted so far in the form brought to the attention of the patent applicant only after the preliminary examination has been carried out for the object referred to below as the "judo ball":

1. Aufgabenstellung:1 Task:

In order to train the ASHI-WAZA (leg care techniques), which are important in judo sport but are neglected in most teaching systems, it is not enough for beginners, especially in childhood, to practice these techniques immediately with a partner, so it is best to do this with one partner first moving object lying on the mat. For this purpose, many coaches use paper balls, cut tennis balls, or small pieces of wood, a specially designed and useful training device has so far been lacking, so literature on such devices cannot reasonably be discussed. Therefore, those mentioned by the pre-examiner (FR-PS 2568 4 7 8 by Racowski, GB-PS 2 107 995 by Giovetti and US-PS 4 247 117 by Reichert) cannot be considered either. As an ideal training aid for the above-mentioned techniques, an object is to be found that offers a certain degree of frictional resistance on the judo mat, is adapted to the anatomical shape of a child's foot and, if possible, returns to its starting position after the training movement due to the way it is suspended. The weight of this device should not exceed 300 gr.

2. Beschreibung:2. Description:

The judo ball, for which the patent applicant has applied for a patent, is a hollow object made of rubber (or plastic), which has a circular base surface that offers a precisely calculated frictional resistance when sliding over the judo mat, such as the resistance of a leg in step in a child between 5-9 years. The curvature of the flat part and the course of the upward tapering upper part of the training device correspond anatomically exactly to the shape of the forefoot and instep of a child's foot of the age group mentioned. There is a small step on the upper part (see Fig. 1 point a). From the opening at the top of the object emerges an elastic cord, which can be adjusted in length to the needs of the practitioner, it is either attached to the belt of the practitioner or to that of his exercise partner, with certain exercises it can also be used in the left or right hand. From above, the judo ball looks disc-shaped (Fig. 2), so that regardless of its position, there is an identical practice opportunity from each side, a fact that is particularly true with entry combinations of the Ashi-Waza important is.

3. Bisheriger Stand der Technik:3. Current state of the art:

So far, there has been no corresponding tool for learning Ashi techniques, especially for judo training. The objects used so far (see point 1) are unsatisfactory in terms of both the frictional resistance and the risk of injury (if wooden blocks are used) and also offer no special incentive for the children to playfully deal with the Ashi techniques. On the other hand, the soft, rounded material of the judo ball does not pose any risk of injury if you fall on it, its shape forces you to maintain your feet correctly when sweeping and stimulates the children to practice the sweeping techniques. By attaching it to the belt with a cord, dynamic training is possible since the device returns to its starting position between the feet of the practitioner.

In Fig. 1 the judo ball is shown in section: the letters in the drawing indicate the following: a - incision that allows a comfortable grasping of the judo ball from above. b- elastic cord. The device can also be used without a cord for static exercises.
Fig. 2 shows the judo ball from above. Its diameter is 175 mm, the diameter of the crest corresponding to the instep is 52 mm, the heel labeled Quote a has a thickness of 10 mm. The curvature of the lower part of the device corresponds exactly to that of an average child's foot at the age of 5-9 years. The slope in the ascending part of the crest simulates the instep of a child's foot. When the exercising sweeps, which has to be done with the slightly curved inside of the sole of the foot, the judo ball exerts a certain frictional resistance on the judo mat, which corresponds approximately to that of an unloaded child's foot. This leads to a satisfactory simulation of a "Barai" movement. The sweeping can be done on both sides (De-Ashi-Barai, Okuri-Ashi-Barai) or in a circular arc outside or inside backwards (O-Soto-Barai, Ko-Soto-Barai, O-Uchi-Barai, Ko-Uchi -Barai). For the Uchi-Mata movement, which, strictly speaking, of course, is not one of the Ashi techniques, there are various combinations of exercises. The ball can also be dropped from the waist, and the practitioner can improve his reaction with the sweeping leg, since the moment at which the ball can be swept on the ground just before the impact must be estimated and exploited. Since the judo ball jumps away due to its elasticity if it is hit too late or too early during this exercise, this exercise is particularly promising for good leg reactions.
