In order to improve the shaving properties in the case of the known shaving blades unit, the invention proposes that the plastic body 1 together with the shaving blades 2, 2' has wound round it a wire 4 with a plurality of adjacent windings, the individual windings extending, in the region of the surface of the shaving blades unit pressing against the skin, parallel to the shaving direction and mutually spaced. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a razor blade unit for a wet shaving apparatus, in which a single razor blade or two parallel razor blades are embedded in a plastic body, the cutting edges of which are partially provided with a cover.

There are razor blade units for wet shavers of the type specified at the outset, in which a single razor blade or a double razor blade is embedded in a plastic body, the cutting edges of the two razor blades being offset from one another in the double razor blade. So that bumps in the skin cannot be detected by the razor blades during the shaving process and thus cannot be the cause of skin injuries (skin irritations) that are sometimes not visible, it has already been proposed in such razor blade units that the cutting edge of the razor blade is cut into a thin sheet with a cutting edge to divide non-cutting segments.

However, such a cover is not suitable for modern razor blade units and for optimal shaving, since it is associated with a strong reduction in the effective cutting area is. In addition, this type of cover does not provide protection against a skin fold that is inevitable during the shaving process, so that skin injuries can occur. Furthermore, the shaving resistance is increased, which is associated with a further irritation of the skin. After all, this cover is expensive and complex to assemble.

From DE-U-87 00 107 a so-called revolver head wet shaver is known, in which several razor blades are arranged uniformly over the circumference on a common blade carrier which can be rotated about an axis by means of a rotary knob and forms a razor head. The cutting edges of the razor blades run parallel to this axis of rotation. The blade carrier can be rotated by means of the rotary knob in such a way that its razor blades are successively in the shaving position. In order to provide protection against injuries when the cutting edge of the razor blades is inadvertently touched, the known blade carrier, together with the razor blades, is helically wrapped with wire.

A disadvantage of this turret wet shaving apparatus is first of all that the turns of the protective wire run obliquely with respect to the vertical of the cutting edges of the razor blades, which defines the shaving direction. This disadvantageously creates a cross component either on the protective wire or on the entire blade carrier, which impairs the shaving properties of the razor. This has a second disadvantage. So that the turns do not run too obliquely, very narrow turns with small distances between the wires must be provided. However, this significantly reduces the effective shaving area, so that the shaving process must be repeated in order to obtain a good shaving result.

Starting from a razor blade unit of the initially specified type of the invention has the object to provide a razor blade unit for a wet razor having an improved cover for the cutting edges of the razor blade.

As a technical solution it is proposed with the invention that the plastic body together old the razor blades is wrapped with a wire with several helical turns lying next to each other and the wire is at least partially guided in grooves formed in the plastic body, the individual turns in the area of the front pressure surface of the razor blade unit to the skin parallel to the shaving direction and at a distance from each other, while they run obliquely in the area of the back.

A razor blade unit for a wet shaver designed according to this technical teaching has a cover in the form of a protective wire which is considerably improved compared to the prior art and which considerably improves the shaving properties. A major advantage is that the wire windings run exactly parallel to the shaving direction in the area of the front pressure surface, without any cross-components, be it on the protective wire or on the razor blade unit as such. This protective wire guide in the area of the front pressure surface thus ensures an optimal shaving process. In addition, due to the fact that the turns of the protective wire in the front area parallel to the shaving direction and in the rear area obliquely, and due to the guide grooves of the protective wire without slipping in its predetermined positions, a large distance between the turns is made possible, so that overall the razor blade unit according to the invention only a few turns are needed to improve the shaving properties on the one hand and to provide effective protection against unintentional cutting on the other. The particular advantage of the few turns is that the effective shaving area is only insignificantly reduced, so that nothing changes in the number of shaving operations during a shave compared to razor blade units without a protective wire. In addition, the protective wire prevents the formation of a skin fold, so that skin injuries are avoided even in the invisible area. In addition, the protective wire reduces the required shaving resistance because it also reduces the frictional force that occurs in the protective cap of the razor blade unit to approximately 50% of the total frictional force.

The wire is preferably made of metal, since metal with skin has a relatively low coefficient of friction, so that the required shaving resistance is reduced to a minimum.

In a further development of the wire, according to a further feature of the invention, it has a diameter of less than 0.1 mm, so that the effective shaving surface is only minimally reduced.

Further details and advantages result from the following description of the associated drawing, in which a razor blade unit according to the invention with a protective wire is shown schematically. The drawing shows:

Fig. 3
a section along the line III-III in Fig. 1st

The razor blade unit for a wet shaver, which can be attached to a handle, not shown, consists of a plastic body 1, in which two razor blades 2,2 'are embedded, the cutting edges 3,3' of which run parallel and offset to one another.

The plastic body 1 is wrapped together with the razor blades 2,2 'by means of a wire 4. This wire 4 forms helical windings which run at a distance from one another, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2. At the front of the razor blade unit, ie in the region of the pressure surface of the razor blade unit against the skin, the turns of the wire 4 run parallel to the shaving direction, while on the one in FIG. 2 shown back of the razor blade unit, the turns run obliquely.

The wire 4 is made of metal and preferably has a diameter of less than 0.1 mm. In order to prevent the turns of the wire 4 from shifting laterally on the plastic body 1, the latter is at least partially provided with grooves 5 in which the individual turns of the wire are guided.
